For those who bets on parlay how many matches is enough?

Few days past I met an old friend who loves gambling on parlays, where he would have to accumulate much matches around 10 to 20 matches with long betting slip when we where together he was making predictions on the word cup game and I saw him have to select several matches and I told him why do you always risk your bet? At least to be at the safer side why not you just select on 2 to 5 matches that you confirmed to be winning than having much matches in one slip? He said, having 2 to 5 matches won’t give him the required odds and the amount he is intending to win.

My question is, do you people look at the odds before placing your bet or you at the possibility of winning the match, irrespective of the odds or without considering how copious the matches could be?
At least, I have understood that 1 to 2 matches gives you the chances to win.

Maybe you should also ask your friend about the amount he’s betting on the accumulated odds from quite a few matches. If he’s betting big, or at least isn’t a small bettor, even though he likes parlays, he might avoid accumulating odds that much.
Every bettor will pay attention to the odds and chances of winning. But those who are more risk-aware might not add too much.

But in my regular bets, I usually place 3 or 4 bets in a parlay, I never do more than that

I don't look at odds before placing my bet. I do my research and analysis and place my bet due to my own predictions irrespective of the odd. Since, I'm gambling with little amount of money, I don't intend to win big or dream of winning big because the chance of that happening is very very slim.

This entirely depends on the gambler, there are gamblers who think that too many matches in a parlay are not worth it because of how ridiculously high the odds is, so they only choose to have a couple of matches on their parlay that at least give them a reasonable chance of winning, and there are those who like to have long parlays. It's the same thing with the odds, there are those who look at the odds, and there are those who only look at who is most likely to win the match, irrespective of the odds.

I don't usually think about winning. But I gamble on several different sites with different options. I call it arbitrage. What you need to pay attention to are the odds and the team you bet on. They shouldn't be the same. Usually, this will continue to grow your assets even if you lose most of the time. However, this method requires a significant amount of capital... unless you're a serious gambler and willing to take risks.

Everyone has their own perspective on this, I might say that 10 matches is enough and you might say that it's not or it shouldn't be up to that, everyone has a different answer. What you are supposed to be is have a limit you don't exceed so you can continue to work with that. For some bettors they consider the odds of 10 and above to be parlays and to others the range might be above 10 odds.

In an accumulator, it's not just the odds that are multiplied. The bookmaker's margin is also multiplied. 🙋

Therefore, the longer the accumulator, the worse it is for the player. Creating an accumulator with 10 or 20 legs is, in my opinion, absolute madness.

If your friend wants to win, then, in my opinion, they should look for bookmaker errors in setting the odds. Bookmakers make mistakes too. And it's precisely by finding such errors that the player can profit.

I don't really play parlays that much but if I'm going to stake on such I always make sure that it doesn't exceed 10 games per slip and I said per slip because I always place different bets, this isn't really a perfect strategy but it has helped me on a few occasion. Parlays can be very risky because one wrong game is all it takes for your bet slip to be ruined, I have been in situations where I lost just a single game out of 20 or even more, the amount of money staked on these games isn't what hurts it's the fact that you were close to winning a huge amount.

There are some gambers that will prefer to go for at least 10 matches, but which are more difficult to win because the higher the number of matches, the higher the chance of losing.

Personally, I prefer not more than 3 matches because always lose all if going more than 2 matches, but I have won 3 matches parlay before very well.

A disciplined bettor will seek to protect their capital instead of playing right into the hands of the bookmakers.
What the friend here is doing here is more of a lottery kind of bet and it is quite harder to hit that jackpot win and that means destroying the probability of winning if he accumulates more odds that summarize to about 20 games respectively.

Sticking to 1 or 2 matches is better when talking about parlays and it is a more disciplined approach that also preserves capital and emotions.
It's always those bettors who hope on a miracle by selecting more games than necessary that get to chase loss or become indebted more. Control and wisdom is key.

And more than the number of matches, the accumulated odds matter, obviously it depends on many other factors but lesser the game the chance of winning the bet will be higher and that will go down according to the number of games along with the odds.

For me I don't have any specific number of games whenever I'm betting with parlay method, but what I do know very well is that me adding more game will reduce my chance of winning my bet. But I honestly prefer to go with few games which I know that has a little chance of winning. Betting on few games and winning them is much more better than betting on higher games but still lose it at the end. Obviously even adding more games or betting of fewer games doesn't even guarantee winning.

Betting on a parlay of more than 2 games also give you the chance to win but just that the more games you add to a parlay the less probability of its success, you can bet on a single game and have 40% probability but a parlay of 2 games might be 20% probability and just as you add more games, it reduces the possibility of its success but it doesn't completely means that such long parlay can not be successful, just that the chance are very low.

The number of matches to add in a parlay is subjective, some people actually add up to 10 games and more, I have seen someone bet on a parlay of 20+ games, but most of the time, they are losing such bet.

I think that parlays must contain many matches, perhaps because of my culture. In my country, one of the most famous national bets by far is the so called "La Quiniela"only for Spaniards, so don't try!, consisting of getting the results of the 15 games of the league week right (currently guess the result of 15 World Cup matches, which makes it more interesting for a change). It costs 1.50€ and it offers you the chance to become a millionaire if you get all the results right.

Accustomed to that type of betting, it is very strange for me to try parlays with a few legs. But I have never won large parlays like these before, not surprisingly, so maybe it's not the best option, but just mine.

Yes, there were times that I bet just on three matches, but I lost the bet. There were also times that I bet on a single match and I lost it. Portugal did that to me recently which was a single game but the country's team did not win. But the bet that I lost most are parlays that are higher than 3 matches. There is no exact amount of match that is enough for a gambler actually, let me just put that up. From what i just read he was looking at combining enough games to meet up with particular odd he has in mind to win. So as long as there are matches to be played and odds to combine, he will for sure keep combining them. Its like a gambler's lust, actually it is a lust for odds and more times than often

Your old friend is really looking to try his luck, making a parlay with so many match choices is stupid in my opinion. For me personally, when it comes to parlays, I just set the odds I get, it has to be at least 10.00. Regardless of the number of matches, it could be as little as 3 - 5 matches to get 10.00, if there are some high risk ones, it usually only takes 3 matches.

Yes, this would really be subjective because each bettor would really be having that own level of risks tolerance on how many games that they would really be wanting for their bets to be placed on, but if we do speak into my own choices specially if i do only have that small amount to spend then 5-6 games would be enough for me and thats why it is really that amazing that there are those who are putting up 10+ games parlays on which it is really just that way too hard to hit it up without any loses or simply would be successfully be able to make a win with this long parlay. The one thing i do love the most on parlays is that even if you do have that small amount then you can make those multiple folds on which of course its not that easy though.

This is interesting, but I wonder something: are those who always play parlays doing much better in the World Cup pools because those who play parlays have a better understanding of the pools, I think they have a greater knowledge. I don't do parlays because I don't know much about sports, but if I did, I would be guessing results, and that would be very bad because if I make bets, it's to do them knowing what I'm doing.
