well, there are many of these nature of questions being asked on this platform about about scams etc but since you asked for the most common scams in crypto as of today, then I will say the simplest ones are fake investment platforms that are promising guaranteed and exorbitant profits, people who are creating phishing websites here and there that steal wallet credentials of innocent people as well as all these impersonators pretending to be support staff and so on. I also forgot to mention the Ponzi Schemes who disguised as trading platforms and continue to trap many newbies in the game so you must beware of these items I've mentioned

For what I know this is what newbies need to avoid, since this could provably caught their attention. Fake job hiring scam on which maybe the criminal on other end will ask money in exchange for fake job opportunities, or worse they might say something like they need to download a software or other things which can possibly cause them to get hacked. The other one is those ponzi schemes, because there are so many of those fake platform offering guaranteed or passive profit but eventually they end up scamming people, this is classic scam and for sure that they would here lots of information about this scams methods done by scammers.

Many new users enter crypto without enough knowledge and sometimes fall victim to scams. From your experience, what are the most common scams in crypto today and how can beginners protect themselves?
As you said in the beginning. New users enter this platform without any knowledge about cryptocurrency. This is the main reason for falling victim to scams. If you buy a coin with limited knowledge at the initial stage and your intention is to get rich in a short time, it is risky. One of the common scam on crypto platforms is being greedy. There are countless coins in the market, most of which are piles of garbage. If you buy it after being lured by someone and hoping to get rich in a short time, you can fall victim to scams. Educate yourself and take the time to analysis the market yourself before investing. Take advice from experienced and reliable investors and invest in Bitcoin for the long term, abandoning the temptation of getting high profits through risky trading.

Many new users enter crypto without enough knowledge and sometimes fall victim to scams. From your experience, what are the most common scams in crypto today and how can beginners protect themselves?
Investment scams are to me the most common type of scam people fall for. They want to make it quick, they want to make it big but unfortunately they fall into the wrong hands. I'm not saying it's impossible to make it big from investments, but you would need to have a legit source. Most of the people out there who offers to help you archive this goal are there to make money from you and not help you. Thats why as a newbie, you have to be smart. Your main focus should be getting knowledge and understanding how things works so you could navigate on your own and avoid being a victim. Don't be in a rush to make money from investments because that's where things gets messy for many..

If beginners see interesting promotions with saying a big return in shortly, they must stay away and don't tempting to try even for small money. Most of that will scam you without you notice and will keep telling you to deposit more to them to make more profit but that is a fake.
If you can get the point to recognize it, you will not get in their trick because you know how they work. You can identifying their promotion as a scam and tells your friends that the promotion will scam them.

Bitcoin or crypto itself is not a scam. If you want to get rich overnight, have greed, ignorance and excessive trust in strangers, then you can probably fall victim to a scam. For example, Bitcoin is a long-term asset where you can build your wealth or profit over a long period of time. But if a stranger tells you that he will show you the way to get rich overnight from Bitcoin, then you should understand that the stranger himself is a scammer. Do your research slowly and learn so that you can protect yourself from scams. However, you should be careful with some shitcoins. Because they may be frauds.

Here are some rules:
First rule: Learn first, invest later. Bitcoin wallet, seed phrase, private key, transaction fee, confirmation, self-custody—you should not invest big money without understanding these basic things.
Second rule: Never write seed phrase online, take screenshots, or give it to anyone. Whoever has the seed phrase, owns the coin.
Third rule: Don't trust any guaranteed profit. Bitcoin investment comes with long-term risk; guaranteed daily profit, fixed return, doubling scheme—these are almost always scams.
Fourth rule: Don't download wallet/exchange apps without an official source. You need to check the URL character-by-character, downloading a wallet from a sponsored Google ad or random Telegram link is dangerous.
Fifth rule: It's better to do a small test transaction before sending a large amount. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible; if you send it to the wrong address or scammer address, there is no easy recovery like bank chargeback later.
Sixth rule: You should not keep long-term funds on the exchange. Trading may require an exchange, but for long-term holding, a non-custodial wallet or hardware wallet is safer. Beginners should understand the saying “Not your keys, not your coins” right from the start.
Rule 7: If someone gives urgent pressure—“invest now,” “limited offer,” “pay tax on withdrawal,” “pay account unlock fee”—then stop. Real investment never wants panic decisions.

As soon as you mention the word crypto, you may have stepped on the path of becoming a victim of scams. Our focus should always be on Bitcoin. Hopefully we understand that Bitcoin is the only coin in which it is a good idea or should be invested. One of the biggest and most common scams at the moment is this scam called Rug Pull. Fraudsters will launch a new coin in the market and will promote this coin in a huge amount and when the value of that coin increases, they will sell all the coins they have and everyone will lose money, this is how fraud is committed. There are many types of frauds, but this is currently the most popular.

Most of the scam we see today happen don't just take place, instead we are the ones that created an entry route for them to scam us by our negligence to security measures or greediness to make more profit within a shorter period of time, avoid being greedy, no most of the scam route and prevents any form of hack by maintaining privacy and you will be mostly safe in handling your coins by yourself

If one type of scam is too common, scammers will not use the same method in the end. However, of the many new types of scam, one opportunity for beginners to become victims is their own greed. Greed closes down logical thinking to identifying any actually scam patterns.

Ways beginners can protect themselves in this space are learning to do their own research before investing in any coin. They shouldn't let greediness cloud their judgment to invest in a token because it promises them a high ROI on short notice.
A beginner shouldn't reply to all dm's on Telegram telling them to invest or open a crypto exchange with them for rewards if they invest with them.
A beginner should have this mindset that if it is not Bitcoin that they are risking their money on, they are not ready to invest in any other coin that they can trust.

Every scammer has a common rule which is to making you greedy Imagine some company running a campaign which they will pay 3% interest a day so within 30 days your money become dubble won't you become greedy? No investment company will give you that much interest.
Those who can remain calm and think carefully always avoid this kind of scam easily. Before dealing with unknown person always check their history and profile sometimes scammers impersonate other reputable person. There are many type of scams you may not know all of them but when a offer is too good that's the right time to become highly cautious.

Beginners tend to have a high level of curiosity. What they usually do is look for information or platforms that catch their interest from internet searches. What I think you should pay the most attention to is phishing sites. Be cautious of any ads that pop up in your searches. Sites like that will look the same. Those who are careful and already familiar with this might not be fooled, but for beginners, be careful.

Many new users enter crypto without enough knowledge and sometimes fall victim to scams. From your experience, what are the most common scams in crypto today and how can beginners protect themselves?
in most cases, it is just not about knowledge, it is also about how people process and interpret information, because if you look at what is happening, people just want to make money the economy pressure and inflation are what are behind some decisions and a lot of people have been scammed through crypto and when some people see anything new, they dont do any research before going into it they just make there own decision for desions sake they need to be smart when it comes to bitcoin investment what you see, make sure you make your own validation before continuing, that is the same way a lot of people fell for scam.
