Just hold bitcoin.

Far less manipulation or centralized manipulations, yet increasing price and all-time high higher possibilities. It is also the most decentralized among all cryptocurrencies and having a very strong blockchain and limited supply.

The main reason I chose it is the all-time high that is very certain.

Many newbies often chase coins that promise quick returns. It is good that you have a different mindset about crypto investment from most clueless newbies. What you should invest in is Bitcoin.

Bitcoin has the strongest fundamentals. Bitcoin's supply is fixed at 21 million coins, which means its scarcity will help it retain its value and remain valuable over a long period of time. Bitcoin is less risky compared to altcoins. Every newbie should start with Bitcoin in the most convenient way.

I would still recommend Bitcoin for the long term
Why? At part from what Charles has already stated
If it fails every other coins fail.
It's their engine and their heart
If you understand the appeal of decentralisation and self custody
You would realise why Bitcoin hasn't changed position in years.
Anybody can be number two but no other coin is taking number one.

You are asking a stupid question.  You should never EVER invest this way.

There is no investment you can make that you should "always hold". Any investment, based on the available knowledge and your investment goals, might be something you either should or should not hold. That's why you need to check your portfolio every single day and make sure all of your assumptions are still intact.

You are basically asking how you can just sit there and do nothing and keep making money. Lots of people will give you answers when you ask this question, and most will be lying to you so they can make money instead.

That's good, you started with bitcoin because it's one of the coins that many people recommend for long-term investment.
Currently bitcoin is experiencing a correction below $60K, it is possible that the price can go down again, so you can start buying bitcoin at a low price, then your long-term profit potential can be very high, just wait for patience.

I was thinking about the same thing. I wonder how someone who has managed to find this forum doesn't know about Bitcoin, or someone who is into this industry, asking about where they should start their investment journey, but they don't know the coin that started it all. Such questions are probably the reasons why so many users in this forum think that most of the newbie accounts actually have experienced people behind them and they just try to pretend that they know nothing but in reality they know everything which is why even when they try to ask basic questions, they sound a bit absurd.

Anyway, I would probably suggest any newbie to not make any investments or get involved financially before they learn everything. I mean, if you don't even know about Bitcoin yet, if that's true, then the first thing you need to do is do some research about the industry you just stepped in, learn how it all started, how it has managed to grow into what it has become today, and by the end of that learning process, you should have all your questions answered automatically.

If you want a long term investment, then Bitcoin is the only one true Investment in crypto out there that would not only yield you on a long term,  and also keep you relaxed.

Not that it's not good to diversify your investments,but there's not one other we could compare with Bitcoin. We have seen so many new crypto in the market for years trying so hard to be like Bitcoin, but they end up falling. So if is best to stick with just Bitcoin for a long term.

Asking about which coin to invest in on Bitcointalk is strange  ofcourse everyone is going to recommend bitcoin and me too. At the stage where you are now where you are a newbie and not have much experience in crypto world then you should not invest in every cryptocurrency and especially those which seem too good to be true and meme coins should be avoided at all costs at the level you are. You should not chase quick returns because believe me you will lose faster than you expect to win soo just be patient and dont get greedy. And choose bitcoin. #bitcoinalltheway

It's quite surprising a beginner is asking which coin they should hold. I am surprised because a beginner should focus on Bitcoin first. I won't advise any other coins for a beginner at all. Keep accumulating Bitcoin and hold it for longer until you have good profits. Then slowly you could learn from the market what should be your next choice.

If you asked that question publicly, then everyone would prefer their favourite coins. But at the end of the day you may regret your investment. Bitcoin is the mother coin; you have to invest in that at the beginning of your crypto journey. Otherwise your lesson would be costly since you don't have an idea how an altcoin dumps hard.

I'll also say BTC and that's good that you are acknowledging and leaning about it. Because with so many hype coins that you're also aware it, bitcoin has been stable for so long. Even if there's a flash crash that just happened today, that doesn't mean it's no longer a good investment. Don't look at the current situation but you'll have to zoom out the charts for you to see why we're recommending bitcoin, bitcoin, bitcoin to anyone who asks us what to buy.

I like the scope of your expectation on the coin you want to invest because it didn't say anything about how to start making profit as you are starting the investment so actually with this mindset I believe you are going to be very compatible on long term investment so actually even if is not compulsory to follow what I would say but however the only investment that's recommendedable from me is Bitcoin investment because is the only coin that can do what have expected because it doesn't behave like altcoins and it doesn't also guarantee for an early profit but hopefully you will be profited when you have hold enough.

Others are mentioning Bitcoin to you, but I'll pick out a different coin for you since you asked the question in altcoin discussion board which needs altcoin too to be recommended for you.

I'll suggest you invest in Ethereum, for many reasons. ETH is the bedrock of all EVM projects in the market, most of the layer 1 blockchain coins are all directly influenced by Ethereum for their functionality, most of the transactions fees that happened in their mainnet interactions are paid in Ethereum which causes demand of Ethereum to the highest level.

Just my opinion to look into this also, it also experices new ATH whenever bull season arrives.

Always have Bitcoin as your primary investment in cryptocurrency.
It's best to hold on Bitcoin rather than to FOMO for hype coins that may seem tempting because they can immediately rise hundreds of percent. But they are not for long-term holding.

So, once again, DOYR, learn and understand more about cryptocurrency. Start your journey with BITCOIN

Bitcoin may be the safest choice for a newbie, but that does not mean that everyone should hold it anyway. Instead of a general rule, a person's goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon should be considered when deciding this, imo.

Definitely BTC. If you look at the chart between BTC and other altcoins, not much of altcoins actually outperform BTC in this cycle, not even ETH. Only some like outperform but really rare.
And since BTC have huge market cap, number 1 in the crypto market it will be safer for you. BTC is the main go to for people who want exposure to crypto but don't want to handpick other coins such as altcoins. It works like index of crypto because every other coin follow bitcoin's price.
