Hi all,
I've been taking a break from Bitcoin and the crypto space in general for some years, to let a couple of failures sink in, learn from them, and reassess. But now I feel like its the time to return to it, because I would like to realize a project idea I had, and also do some research if something like that already exists, and maybe join that project, instead of launching my own. Anyway, the project idea is rather simple: An open-source trading engine with built-in revenue sharing.
How would that look like? Well, we would have an open-source trading engine - to start with, a very simple order-matching service. After some basic tests, we'd deploy it on a cloud provider, preferably Railway, since they specialize in running containerized applications. At first, we would only expose it via an API, but later on add a full user interface and maybe even mobile apps to interact with it. Every time an order is matched, we generate trading fees (unless we are running a free promotion, etc.), and the generated fees are instantly split among the project shareholders. As for the language, I would suggest Ruby because of its modular nature, and because I'm familiar with it. The integration with the Bitcoin network (and any other algorithms) could be implemented as a Ruby module.
So, basically, I'm posting this to see if anybody knows of a project like this, where it's not too late to join. Or if it's worthwhile to start my own. I do have the technical capability, just unsure if to really go for it, or if anyone would want to become a shareholder of something like this.
