Gambling only in my long passed youth was a form of earning money, which I rarely used. Many years ago, I used to play free poker tournaments to win real money, or played low-stakes poker to earn couple of dollars during night. I have never used any other gambling games to earn back then. Right now this is only entertainment. To make watching sports event a little bit more thrill to watch. In my personal opinion, this difference in perspective and assessment ultimately leads to very different outcomes...

I think if someone sees gambling as a form of entertainment and accepts from the beginning that the money they spend is simply the cost of that entertainment, it becomes much easier to stay in control. Problems usually start when casinos or sports betting turn into a way to make money or solve financial problems. In that situation, every loss is no longer seen as the price of entertainment, but as lost income that needs to be recovered.
Gambling should remain entertainment with a possible bonus of winning something, not a financial plan or a source of income.

I like your clarifications, in my assessment I view gambling as option 1, there's no way I'm not enjoying it and still stick to it. Gambling is a fun activity and paid entertainment. I like to view gambling in the same vein as going for movies, a date night or A walk to the park or other recreational stuffs which has timing and a budget for it. Yeah, gambling can be entertaining when you play for fun, but when you play solely for the profits, then you treat it more like a business and it is only fun for you when you win

I think it's a mix of both 1 and 2. I'm entertaining myself and hoping I win at the same time, but I know that it is not always possible to walk away a winner. Only someone delusional would think that. I get entertainment from it no matter what, so that's a positive for me.

This is how I see gambling after having experienced it for several years. I confess to have already thought about gambling as a mean to profit when I started playing for the first time, but once I understood how it works, I immediately gave up on the idea it could be a source of income. Mathematically it's just impossible, and doesn't matter how hard you try to overcome the casino, you are always going to get wasted, because there is a house edge operating against you.

That’s actually a pretty good perspective. Even if the amount of money we’re putting on the line for a game or event is so small that we don’t really care about it, it’s still enough to amp up the excitement of the game because it creates a desire to win in your mind. As “winning the bet” becomes more important than the amount of money involved, your enjoyment of the game also increases. Of course, that’s assuming your bet doesn’t look like it’s going to lose. I think the best approach is to bet on the team you want to win, because then you can fully savor the joy of their victory.

As a place of entertainment that is how I view gambling center because there are some times I will lose in gambling I will start laughing myself without people laughing at me, I use funds to gamble but the funds is what I can afford to lose which is the reason I use to smile or laugh when losing, well, I view gambling as a place of financial reward or let what is disturbing your mind to let go because you don't need to be unhappy through out the day, I view gambling as a place of rest for a while to learn a new thing against tomorrow.
