Let us discuss the reality of holding altcoins.

The really brutal reality is that Altcoins are a REALLY bad investment and have always been!  When you have dozens of thousands of Altcoins around it is easy to sort the Coin Market Cap list descending by percentage change in the last hour, day or week and say 'look at all these people making money' but in reality pretty much no one makes money, only a very few select lucky people or the 'developers' pulling the rug on them and the rest of people are simply losing or stagnating all the time!

There are obviously a FEW exceptions but when you have a handful of exceptions between dozens of thousands of non exceptions you should really ask your self if it is even worth risking it because at this point it is pretty much like purchasing lottery scratch cards!

This thread is aimed at collecting individual perspectives concerning various altcoins and what our feelings are, because over the time I have come across cryptocurrency investors bragging about their altcoins like coins from way back 2023-2025 and then now 2026, those that believe that they are going to become $millions profits through this various coins in they portfolio.
Let me ask are we still expecting the bigger price to come?
Or we should give up the expectation considering the reality pf altcoins right now?

I am sure they can still make millions or millions from investing in altcoins but the number of option is just a hundred times bigger than before, so you need to find the needle in even bigger haystack that sums up pretty well about making millions from altcoin investment. 2018 was the best year for altcoins and almost every projects gave the returns atleast before it reached zero but now in 2026, not even 5% of the project reaches any real value when it hits the market, it's like everything is done before the listing process.

Yes, over the years we have seen so many projects come up like it is going to be the next one but after a few months the project reaches it's threshold and one big whale decides to dump that project and it never recovers from it. We may also have seen some of the projects that deserve to stay gone to zero due to not enough support and trust from the community members.

I am not expecting for most altcoins to see them have that price increase. Whenever the alts are dropping in prices, most of them are having difficulty in recovering.

That is what you'll see in the charts and that's historical. Maybe for some that it will work but for most, it won't.

Some good and top altcoins are also having that difficulty in moving upwards.
