What are the ways to buy first Bitcoin in Nigeria
9ja local board: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=275.0
You can get your best answer in our local board..

Here we don’t have Bitcoin or crypto ATMs that can help you use cash to buy stablecoin and then use a DEX to convert it to Bitcoin. What we use most here that I’m aware of is P2P exchanges (KYC verification required) where you run a bank transfer to the next person and get the Bitcoin in return, which you can then move to a wallet you are in full control of.

I could have suggested F2F, but it comes with its own risk, even with the P2P, I will suggest you ask someone who knows the way around to guide you if you are pure novices to the system.
There is also conversion, personally I don't see bitcoin P2P anywhere around so I instead buy a stablecoin with P2P and then convert that to bitcoin, it's easier to do making it something alot of people will take a liking to quickly especially for people who haven't been accumulating bitcoin for long (newbies) since it's not a complicated method whatsoever, I will personally recommend it, maybe make the conversion in an exchange and move the bitcoin to a trustworthy wallet afterwards and you have yourself an easy way to buy bitcoin.
You're right about the conversion method after a P2P buying of stable coins. But then, being a newbie and a possible cryptocurrency first timer, directing him to P2P is still not the best option except he is ready to calm down and learn the exchange usage well before attempting to use it in order not to fall into the hands of scammers. I will advise him to either focus on the Quidax.io and Busha.io mentioned by @Igebotz or most preferably, create a thread to that effect and contact CryptopreneurBrainboss via PM to trade with him, I'm sure he may still be running the service even though the thread seems to be dumped since over a year ago.
Although P2P is an efficient choice, it might not be the most appropriate one for someone new to crypto currency. People without any prior experience will have difficulties determining whether or not they are dealing with a reliable seller. One wrong move will cost them all of their money. The usage of websites such as Quidax or Busha is much more convenient for novices because the process of buying is simpler and more beginner-friendly. With time, people will get enough practice and will be able to start using P2P services.

Quote
Being a beginner and wanting to run a trade in the anonymous world of P2P is very difficult because any little mistakes, you will loose your money. It will be advisable to trade with a reputable Forum member in this local board who will receive Naira and send your bitcoin without stress or fear.
Peer-to-peer transactions are much more complicated than they seem to be, particularly for a person who only just started exploring cryptocurrency. A novice will not know how to authenticate a trader, distinguish between fake payment proofs, or spot any scams that are being performed. Even one mistake can lead to the loss of funds that will be irretrievable most of the time. This is the reason why choosing an experienced and reputable member of the forum at the initial stages of peer-to-peer trading is the optimal solution. This way, the beginner will be able to make the trade safely while acquiring valuable information about the process of working with Bitcoin. On the other hand, the novice will also have to spend some time studying the safety of wallets and transaction confirmations.

Your idea is a good one only that it's limited to people on the forum so for people on the forum they can do what you are suggesting but the people who are not on the forum will still look for the alternative that works best for them, either way the best thing to do is to find someone trustworthy to deal with, scammers are everywhere themselves days and if you can't trust who you are buying from or selling to them you could very easily get scammed as a newbie.

What are the ways to buy first Bitcoin in Nigeria

Since you don't understand much about how to buy bitcoin from Nigeria, you shouldn't go into investing so easily. I think you should first learn about bitcoin and how to buy it, which exchange you can benefit from buying it from. If you can learn well from a mentor, you can gain experience in it very quickly. But anyway, I think if you want to buy bitcoin, then of course you can buy it through P2P with Naira, but if you are not experienced, then you should not buy from here, you may definitely face fraud. If you buy bitcoin with Naira from a popular exchange like Binance, then it is definitely safe, but you need to understand it first, learn first, buy later.

What are the ways to buy first Bitcoin in Nigeria
Purchase Bitcoin now has been come very easy unlike before that you need to follow the long procedure before can be allowed to buy Bitcoin, because before if your verification process was not complete you will not be able to get access and buy Bitcoin. I can see that so many members are recommended you a lots of ways where you can get your Bitcoin to buy, but some mentioned a p2p and you as newbie’s you need to get little knowledge about p2p exchanges before you direct go there and purchase Bitcoin why? Is because there’s a lots of scammers there that newbie’s can easily fall in their hand.

I will advise you to go with @igebotz suggestion that said there are some reputable Nigeria licensed crypto exchanges, so you as a newbies its better you get any of those exchanges to buy your first Bitcoin there for security purposes.

What are the ways to buy first Bitcoin in Nigeria
Buy Bitcoin from a reliable exchange. I will not tell you which exchange is more reliable. Analysis and buy Bitcoin after taking advice from experts. The process of buying Bitcoin is very simple.

You will find many promotional pages online, most of which are not trustworthy and use various tricks to trap new investors especially. There are some reliable members on the Bitcoin forum/ our local board who are ready to give you Bitcoin directly in Naira/Dollar.

What are the ways to buy first Bitcoin in Nigeria
You can buy Bitcoin from bitget exchange or from bybit if that's what you meant. We have other exchange app like binance and kucoin but the NGN p2p has been delisted for sometime now. But the one I am certain about is the bitget, you can use it to buy Bitcoin and send to your non custodial wallet if you want to hold. Apart from that you can buy Bitcoin through wallet P2P where you will give cash to the physical seller while he send your the coin directly to your wallet.

Any wallet that  offers p2p for Nigerian can  be easily used to purchase bitcoin. All he need is to pick a good rate and a reputable seller from such exchange. It can be easily done from the buy tab in the P2P section .
Also, he doesn't need to use a cash by  doing a physical trade (main reason I quoted you).

There are some options of cash dealing, it used to be on bybit but I'm  not sure they still offer it . It's a risky trade, even bybit do have a warning on such trades .  The normal p2p through bank transfer is already enough and easy to deal.
Not sure why you brought it up for a newbie though.

Not sure if anyone mentioned  Luno , it's also part of the KYC options.

Quidax.io and Busha.io

Make sure you transfer out your Bitcoin after purchased to non-custodial wallets
Just curious!
Have you used them before?
How are their rates compared to that of foreign P2P platforms like Bybit, Bitget and Gate.io?

OP need every helping aides because he really needs it to make a proper strategy. Buying Bitcoin is no longer difficult in the market, it's simple, what you find really hard to understand, just to to your YouTube and everything you need is there. You're 100% right about advising OP to go to YouTube where he will have access to good tutorial videos on how to buy Bitcoin. I literally visit YouTube for anything that I'm finding really difficult to understand. OP just gotta be more careful because these days, the market is no longer safe and precautionary measures ought be consider in this phase.

There are no special rules for purchasing your first Bitcoin in Nigeria because I think anyone can use their own money to buy Bitcoin through P2P. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the site we are using to purchase Bitcoin must be secure and even if you are new, after purchasing Bitcoin on any exchange through P2P, move it to a safe address because exchanges have third-party hands, those people can easily gain access to wallets rich in Bitcoin purchased with our hard-earned money. Besides, I think if an inexperienced Nigerian starts investing in Bitcoin by arranging his discretionary income, he might be able to learn step by step which method would be best for depositing Bitcoin.
