African teams are not expected to win the World Cup, but this is the first time 10 African teams have made it to the World Cup. Yes, I understand that the slots have increased. The interesting part is that, apart from Tunisia, the rest of the African teams advanced to the Round of 32. South Africa and Egypt qualified for the knockout stages for the first time in history.

Yes, they might not be expected to win the World Cup but its hasn't end, which might still be a turnaround, that is to say which a team might be qualified, though Morocco are really the best team for now but let's not lose hope for the other teams, if there is none, then that means that Morocco will have to put more effort so that they can help African teams go more further. Exactly what has been happening with the round of 32 for African teams. They don't seem to hold on to finishing even when they are leading. This shouldn't be a matter of getting tired because I don't think so but what I think is that the European teams come to the second half with a different strategy and they are tactical with zeal and determination to come back into the game, this I don't see in African team especially with the Dr Congo match against England. Imagine holding a 1 goal lead from 7 minutes of the first half to 75th minutes before losing grip and conceding another in 86th minutes.

The African teams played really well in the group stage and showed their strength. But I don't have high hopes for the other teams except Morocco. Maybe the rest of the teams are going to be eliminated in the Round of 32 or the Round of 16. But Morocco might go to the quarterfinals or semifinals. In the Round of 16, Morocco will face Canada, in which Morocco seems to be the favorite. However, their journey might end in the quarterfinals, because in the quarterfinals, their opponents will be France/Paraguay. I don't think Paraguay can get through to the quarterfinals by eliminating France, so if Morocco beats Canada in the Round of 16, they will face PSG in the quarterfinals. The rest of the African teams might not go very far.

I don't understand anything about football, but in my opinion the fact that they are starting to become good and strong gives hope for a more balanced football championship where it's not just first world nations that get to the end. It would definitely be nice if one of these teams reached the final, but i don't think they will.

At this point France has a very high chance of winning the world cup they have the best players they are on a winning streak and it was very predictable because of their squad so if there's any country that can beat France, is that country that's going to win the world cup my friend

I think you can clearly see that the African teams can no longer be taken lightly. A few of them have been very good for a long time, but this time around it is as if they have improved significantly over the years. There is no really easy match for any of the European heavy weights. All of the matches are tough against Cape Verde, Senegal, today Congo against England, Egypt and some others. I remember the times when there was no big discussion whether the big times from Europe would win, but I think this has changed now. England was on the brink of losing as Congo had a huge chance to score the second goal. It was close and Harry Kane saved them. Overall they have gained quality for sure.

Of course from the statistic that was shown here I can clearly say that africans team did absolutely well, i think these is actually my first time of see african teams advancing in the FIFA world cup, I mean not even one african team nor twice but so many. I will 100% fault this statement as a big slap to Africa as a continent regardless of how better advanced some of the other teams in the world cup are. what do you mean that the likelihood of an African team winning the world cup is unrealistic? from what we have seen so far, no African team that have exited the world cup bowed down so easily. they gave a fair fight up till the end and the reason some of them left like D.R congo is just that they don't have a strong mind that is ready to stretch things to the end. i am sure that Senegal and Congo were knocked out just because in their mind, they didn't see themselves advancing beyond this point.

we always have this low self esteem about ourselves and that makes us accept anything because we think we are not worthy of the trophy. most of the European teams that are doing well are depending on the African players that are in their teams. if African can do well and lead their team to winning the world cup, why do we think we cant produce an African team that can win the world cup?

And what you explained as "tired" is not so in my observation. The African team are not often tired, as they are used to playing, but were overwhelmed by the opposition team. I also noticed that many African teams seem to tire at the very end. I don't mean to say it's physical exhaustion, but rather that they seem to burn out mentally due to intense emotions, while other teams are able to control their emotions better. In any case, I'm glad that many African teams made it to the playoffs at this championship and missed out by just a little bit, although Morocco, for example, advanced. I'd like to see African teams in the quarterfinals, and I'd also be pleased if two teams reached the semifinals.

No doubt, African teams are doing great but to be honest it's too early to start rating them since the game is just starting and we can barely speculate from this early stage. Moreover, their other great teams that are pretty prepared too, world cup is no joke, it take a whole lot of hard work and energy to secure the trophy  home and I believe African team are likely equal to the task if only they are well prepared.
