Nigerian Government should focus more on relevant matters at hand not the irrelevant ones. Nigeria as a country has many relevant matters that needs urgent attention like the insecurities, cost of leaving, banditry and the unemployment in the country. They should rather try to fix those problems first before claiming they care about the citizens.

Trying to make some changes in the NYSC scheme is a total waste of time and resources, the government should rather just stop the one year service endangering the life of the Nigeria youth, the government should either give the supposed amount spent on each Corp members to them as an arrias for them to start a business or find another means of empowering the youth rather.

The government are just finding another way of extortion and use of funds for their selfish interest and claiming they have the interest of the young citizens at heart. All this is just a way to steal funds and will not add any value to the youth.

They are pressing issues that need to be addressed urgently in the country. I don't know why the government likes bringing up unnecessary reforms while pressing issues that should be taken serious are ignored. How does this reform benefit Nigerians in the first place and bringing something like this when insecurity issues hasn't been addressed. First and foremost, these reform aren't necessary, this isn't what Nigerian are demanding from the government at this time rather we are demanding for security.
Security of lives and property is the primary responsibility of the government and any government who fail to in security is a failure. The government should ensure Nigeria is safe and secure before deploying corps members to the North.

  • Orientation Camp extension from 3 weeks to six weeks.
Extension of orientation course from the normal 3 weeks to six weeks is not just something you start without properly planning for accommodating corp members for six weeks demands a lot including dealing with cases of fainting that will happen more often than it's been the case and with that, there should be an improved medical welfare to carter for it.

The good thing about the porpoted reform is that it's supposed to centre around building the right skillset among young graduates and with that, it can potentially influence Thier employability. Overall, I want to see a system of posting that focuses on posting young graduate to firms that relates to Thier area of studies so they get additional industrial based knowledge that stays relevant after the service year.
