You dont have to be a historian to know how the Roman Empire came to an end. It wasnt some barbarian hordes at the gates that did it but a slow rot from the inside out: corruption, degeneracy, weak leaders and the kind of infighting that leaves you with nothing. Then I turn to BitcoinTalk and find myself seeing rather unsettling similarities. Satoshis original forum once the very heart of Bitcoin culture is awash in spam and low effort drivel these days. You have your paid trolls and shills running amok. The old guard and true OGs are either making themselves scarce or have gone quiet. In their place you get endless bickering over nothing. The noise is getting louder as the heart of the place quietly disappears. I cant help but wonder if this is being destroyed from within. For what it is worth I would like to put it to the old timers who were here back in 2010-2013 and hear some straight talk. Is BitcoinTalk destined for the same fate as Rome or is there any hope of saving it?
