Good news for Bitget users

I was trying to do a p2p transaction on Bitget this morning, then a warning notice pops up and below is the content of the warning.



This is a good news because all these online merchants/vendors been wan frustrate themselves. Imagine sometimes you go click on exchange rate wey dem publish for their Ads, but you go dey see different exchange rate when you wan initiate p2p trade with the person. I don see many complaints of people about how some vendors dey negotiate price outside the one wey dem publish, some even went to the extent of deducting certain amount and say that it is a transaction fee or money for stamp duty. I don see person wey complain say one vendor sef been remove up to 1k from his money dey tell am say na for stamp duty. But I hope that this news now show say the exchange dey see wetin dey happen or probably people don complain well well so if you still see any merchants wey still dey do those things make you report am so that other people go learn because the scam wey dey happen for p2p on these exchanges don dey too much. I say make I share the news for una here too.

This is a good news, but it will be good if Bybit can also do the same. You people that are using Bybit should be contacting their customers care and let them know how Bitget has solved the issue instead of saying you know how to bypass the P2P crypto buyers wrong doing. It is mostly happening on Bybit.

I'm curious to know how they will be able to detect this if no one make any report. If this is something really new that they are bringing like detecting when someone is trying to manipulate or negotiate price, then it is really a good news. I think the verification ticks they issue to merchants that have lead to automatic release of funds already solved a lot of the problems.

This morning, while I was trying to trade my little token on bitget, I also received this important notice too, I immediately take a screenshot so that I will use it to create thread about it on our local board but it seems I was too lazy to do it immediately I saw it 


Actually this is a good thing, because p2p sellers and buyers won't have to manipulate the price immediately someone clicks on their ads,but I believe in one way or the other some of these vendors will try to cheat the the other part because it is not all of them that are genuine.

Obviously I'm sure they won't do anything unless the other party report the scammer, just like the way we normally use the appeal button when the other part delays to pay or release token. Although, I'm just saying based on my perspectives.

According to the news, it is very possible that would be done only when the affected person report the issue to the exchange customer service, but an exchange can have a filter that can filter such annoying messages which the person can see his message automatically deleted by the exchange. Btcdeybodi can let us know more about this.

Na real welcome development for people wey dey use Bitget. In fact, no be only them, because with this new development wey dey ground like this, some people fit decide to register with them. No be small thing wey people dey battle for Bybit, yet dem never do anything like this before. Honestly, sometimes I dey fear to start trading because wetin you see fit change, and them go come dey increase price for you. Sometimes you no go get any option than to accept, which is absolutely not good at all.

I think the negotiation that has been going on the exchange is getting serious and customers might have been reporting this issue that is why their is this new development.  It is possible yo work by reporting or if deposit amount doesn't not tally with trading price or if by any means their is an apeal of incomplete payments.

This is a very good question, I will also want to an answer to it, I will be very happy if bybit can adopt this method, although there is something I notice for few  months now and for that I don't get frustrated any longer negotiating shit with those scammers in Bybit, since thet started adding swift payment in some traders name, once I want to do p2p, thats what I check for first and once I'm okay with any of the  merchants price, I just got ahead to initiate the trade and the payment has been instant, no negation or whatever and even if they try to be funny sometimes by not paying all, I just tell them to do needful so that I do my own part, that ends it.

At this rate i think it is best if you guys had a general thread for these centralized exchanges where you can discuss their businesses and other related matters instead of constantly creating multiple threads to anchor matters that concern them. It would even make things more organized actually.

Bybit are very terrible in moderating scams, I left there earlier this year as I could not tolerate it no more, Bitget is better, I've been using it ever since with no issues. I think they take negative feedback seriously and discipline their merchants. P2P on bitget is very smooth and scam is very reduced now. Thumbs up to them, if they could just stop the fee, most people would dump Bybit for them. I think anyone who values his sanity and time wouldn't mind the fee at all because it is very negligible.

Very good news, Bitget users would love this so much, I wish Bybit would consider this and follow suit cause I'm tired of P2P merchants with their price manipulations then sudden negotiations and fees in the name of Bybit charging them for certain stuffs, if it continues that way, they might or would likely lose their customers from this part of the world to Bitget. Lots of people have already been complaining about P2P scams on Bybit and it's something they need to look into especially now that Bitget is taking better measures to address scam on their platform.

Yeah, you've a good point there, I also read that they had a pretty shitty service in the past which I never experienced myself, but the reviews said so. I like to think that this changes we're experiencing was brought by Gracy Chen who was appointed on 21st may 2024 as the new CEO because there have been rapid fights against scam of which previous administrations were reluctant to face.

Since I started using Bybit with their new update that shows number of times you have traded with a particular merchant, I have not run into any problem before. What I do is that I don't go to exchange to make transaction with a new trader. I just search for the trader that I have been trading with and go with them. One thing I put into consideration before I trade and that's is completion rate and the trade in the last 30 days, if you can understand this, you will have no problem.

I have used Mexc sometimes ago but u experience was bad. I can't use the exchange properly even on my regular network, it will be saying server error, I should change my network. I think the exchange is not working on their server and the exchange itself is becoming heavier every day. They also have low exchange rate if you compare it to other p2p exchanges.

At least there would be no more complaints for the Bitget users about their Marchant because this warning is strictly for them so anybody that go against this rules will definitely not be allowed to sell or buy from the exchange, so actually I love this development from Bitget because from now everybody will start being responsible when they're doing transactions with other person. This step will encourage other exchange that has P2P because this is the only way to gave P2P users a safe place to do there transactions. p2p will soon become as trusted as it was before through this warning.

This will definitely reduce scam activities. I hate to say this, but Nigerians always find a way to use their intelligence to cause more problems than finding solutions. We are behind most of the bad things occurring in this country.

Normally, if this happens, what you should do is cancel the order and go and buy from or sell to another vendor. We shouldn't fail to report them. When wrongdoing happens, one shouldn't fail to report them, even if they later change their mind. Report them. Because if you don't, they will do it to another person. Bitget did a good job with this new update.

This is a very good news, and this will encourage more users to prefer Bitget over other exchanges like Bybit because their merchants are like beggars, they always negotiate on DMs, most of them will be telling you that their is a policy that changes them, so you should reduce some money for them which is very sad, and some of them will prefer to cancel the trade if you don’t agree to their conditions.

This is a good attempt from Bitget, they did really well to curb all these sort of negotiations that sometimes lead to scam, and I am happy to see that. I hope Bybit will also follow suit because they real need regulations.

I think the exchanges board are now getting more reports regarding negotiation issues.. some are even worse to the extent of hiding it in their terms, imagine learning a deduction of “5~10k” naira after the trade has been carried out ..

Bybit arguably remains the best exchange for P2P. Anyone using Bybit and still complain over there is not using it the right way. Such person should go and learn from their friends.

All the time I use it, it always happen. I have contacted Bybit about it before, they did nothing and I stopped using Bybit P2P.

This is absolutely wrong, P2P exchanges should be in a way newbies should not be extorted. There should be no loophole to extort money from anyone through bargain. You are among the person that will not let the exchange know what is right when you are mute and not tell their customer care the right thing to do.
