Their was a conversation I was having yesterday with a higher rank member in this forum that made me to create this thread because it was about gambling addiction.

My believe is that a single person cannot be addicted to gambling and drug at the same time. And why I believe so is that addiction can only be replaced by another, because even if a gambler is also doing drug, that doesn't mean that he can be addicted to both  since he will only be more loyal to one.
I stand to be corrected, but the reason I created a thread about this is to hear of the opinion of others, so what's your take on this?

I think you are maybe a little wrong as I feel like someone with an addictive personality can be addicted to multiple things easily. I like pussy and blow jobs but if you give me a choice of which 1 I like better my answer is going to depend on what I am in the mood for. Has nothing to do with me being addicted to1 and just enjoying the other now n then.  

If you like to get high on whatever your drug of choice might be and play slots you are choosing both demons at the same time. People addicted to drugs tend to be in a shitty mood if they don't have their fix until they get their fix, same as an addicted gambler they will sell their kids if they have to to gamble. Doesn't matter which fix they get 1st, they're still addicted to both and their attitude will show that. 2 different personalities until they get their fixes in.

Of course, they can. When it comes to addiction, there's no such thing as loyalty; a person can be addicted to drugs and pornography, or gambling and alcohol, as long as the body and mind can take it, it can form a habit to accommodate these addictions, and there are a lot of studies that can prove that also.
And there was a time I was addicted to gambling and smoking, and I could do these two things together.

I think it's perfectly possible to be addicted to more than one thing. What happens is that one of the addictions will be stronger than others, so there might be the perception there is only one addiction taking place, although there are more in a reduced intensity. Actually, extreme behaviors tend to attract extreme behaviors, as the individual becomes heavily impulsive, constantly seeking for ephemeral pleasures.

 you are wrong about this OP because it is possible for one person to be addicted to different things. There are people that are addicted to both gambling and drugs. The fact that someone is addicted to gambling doesn't make them immune to other addiction. Most people that are addicted to gambling were pushed into it because of drugs addiction. They become addicted to gambling because they won't to win money in other to be able to satisfy there urge for drugs. Someone that is addicted to drugs can be addicted to many things.

That is not true, one thing with addiction is that, it has an accompanied companion which means that before you see someone that is addicted to gambling he will likely be addicted to other things like alcohol or drug's and even porn too, this things comes hand in hand with each other, when you talk about replacement of addiction with another what you mean is just adding another addiction to the previous one and not leaving totally.

That's true, doing gambling and smoking has now been a normal thing to young ones now, especially the young men and addiction doesn't take any permission before they will start to manifest and that shows no loyalty, and if nothing its actually done, it can destroy their lives and lead them to frustration, which might make them to commit suicide. That's why its good for them to break the combo early and make sure they engage in other things that will help them to have fun and forget about gambling.
