━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
WHAT IS KVANTA5?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

KVANTA5 is a proof-of-work blockchain built from a blank page to be quantum-resistant from genesis. Not a fork. Not an upgrade path. Not a testnet. A live mainnet where every transaction ever confirmed — from block 1 — carries an ML-DSA-87 signature under NIST FIPS 204 (2024), the highest security level of the most recently finalized post-quantum signature standard.

No ECDSA key exists anywhere in the KV5 signing path. Not at broadcast, not historically, not retroactively. This is the property that distinguishes KV5 from Bitcoin + BIP-360 (which cannot address historically exposed keys), from QRL Zond (still migrating), and from QANX (no public mainnet).

ADDRESS TYPES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

kvqr1... — Native P2QR address. ML-DSA-87 signature, quantum-resistant from day one.
3... — Wrapped P2SH address. Mining pool and legacy software compatibility.

P2QR (Pay-to-Quantum-Resistant) is KV5's native address format, designed for the post-quantum era. The committed program hash binds the public key to the output at creation time — the pubkey is only revealed at spend, and is verified directly against ML-DSA-87 by every full node.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
THE DEV FUND — WHAT IT'S FOR
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

KV5's 21,000,000 KV5 dev fund is not a team enrichment vehicle. It is a protocol sustainability mechanism with a specific allocation:

  • 40% (8,400,000 KV5) — Core protocol development
  • 25% (5,250,000 KV5) — Third-party security audits
  • 20% (4,200,000 KV5) — Infrastructure
  • 15% (3,150,000 KV5) — Legal and compliance

The 21 tranches are hardcoded as P2QR program hashes in src/consensus/devfund.h and enforced by Kvanta5DevFundCoinbaseIsExpected() — called by every full node at block 1. Any miner producing a non-conforming block 1 is rejected by the network. The time-lock interval is 262,800 blocks (~6 months). Full vesting takes ~10 years.

This is not a promise. It is consensus code. The blockchain enforces it.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ML-DSA-87 implementation: Official pqcrystals CRYSTALS-Dilithium reference, compiled with DILITHIUM_MODE=5 hardcoded in CMake — not a runtime flag. DILITHIUM_RANDOMIZED_SIGNING enabled. Key generation uses GetStrongRandBytes() with a sign+verify self-test on every newly created key.

P2QR consensus: CheckSignatureAndProgram() verifies pubkey-to-program hash binding before MLDSA87Verify() is called. Prevents pubkey substitution attacks. Both single-sig and multisig spend formats supported. The newer signer-program multisig format reveals approving pubkeys only at spend time.

KVANTA5_V2_FRAGMENT: Custom P2P fragmentation layer splitting blocks up to 32 MB into 8 MB chunks for reassembly before validation. 5-fragment maximum enforced by compile-time static_assert. Proven in production at block #21798 (29 MB) and block #24521 (29.34 MB).

DGW difficulty: 24-block rolling window, ±300% per-block cap. Validated on Testnet5 against a 125× hashrate cliff (1 PH/s to 8 TH/s). Full organic recovery in ~24 hours with zero developer intervention.

Network layer: BIP324 encrypted P2P transport throughout.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
MINING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

KV5 uses SHA-256d — compatible with any standard SHA-256d miner.

Code:
stratum+tcp://<pool-address>:<port>
Username: your KV5 address (kvqr1... or 3...)
Password: x

Pool: CKPool

What is Kvanta5's long-term vision? Is the goal to become:
a secure long-term store of value,
a payment-focused network,
a post-quantum successor to Bitcoin,
infrastructure for institutions and governments,
or something else entirely?
Also, what milestones would you consider necessary for Kvanta5 to reach that vision?

Don't get me wrong, I like what I'm seeing here, it's just that I'm trying to figure out where this belongs.

Edit: Setting up was a breeze!

Appreciate that, means a lot.
You've seen the work across multiple projects, and KV5 is where it all points.

Glad setup was straightforward.

The honest answer: KV5 is a quantum-resistant reserve asset — closer in philosophy to store of value and institutional settlement infrastructure than to a payment network.

The reasoning is straightforward. Bitcoin is the world's most trusted store of value. Its one structural vulnerability is that ECDSA and Schnorr signatures break completely under Shor's algorithm on a sufficiently capable quantum computer. Every address that has ever published its public key on-chain — which is most of them — is retroactively vulnerable once that threshold is crossed. BIP-360 addresses this partially for new transactions but cannot fix the historical exposure.

KV5 was built specifically to be the chain where that problem doesn't exist — not as a future upgrade, but from block 1. Every transaction ever confirmed on KV5 uses ML-DSA-87 under NIST FIPS 204 (2024), the highest security level of the most recently ratified post-quantum signature standard. No ECDSA key exists anywhere in the signing path. Not historically, not retroactively.

So where does it belong?

Near term: A sound money alternative for holders who want quantum-resistant PoW security today — miners, early adopters, and technically literate holders who understand what the NIST 2024 standard means and don't want to wait for Bitcoin's migration timeline.

Medium term: The settlement layer that institutions reach for when their compliance teams start asking whether digital asset holdings are quantum-resistant. Canada's April 2026 PQC mandate, NIST NSM-10, and the EU quantum readiness framework create a compliance deadline that is already moving. KV5 is the only live PoW chain that answers that question cleanly.

Long term: If the quantum threat materialises on the timelines that Google, IBM, and the BIS Project Leap researchers are projecting (2029–2035), KV5 is positioned as the chain that was ready — not the chain that migrated. That distinction has permanent value.

In on this with a small portion of my hashrate and already found a block!

Setup was a breeze between the wallet and pool connection.

I like the idea and look forward to the future!

Just started mining it about an hour ago and set up the node this morning.
Nice to start on a new coin with small miners. They might actually have a chance to hit some blocks.

@Kal1107 — welcome to the chain, best time to hit blocks. That's exactly how KV5 is supposed to work — straightforward setup, real rewards. Glad to have your hashrate.

@Fun_Do_It — good timing. The network is still young enough that individual miners and small rigs are finding blocks regularly. That window doesn't stay open forever on a SHA256d chain — the earlier you're in, the better the odds.

For anyone just joining: current block height is live at https://kvanta5.live — you can see who's finding blocks in real time. Pool details in the OP.

Android wallet is submitting to Google Play in the upcoming days — native kvqr1... P2QR addresses, full send/receive, ML-DSA-87 Level 5 signing. iOS follows immediately after Apple review.

NonKYC exchange listing is in progress. Will post here the moment trading goes live.

Keep mining.

I've worked with the dev on a couple other projects/coins and to a noob like me it's been a pleasure and an awesome learning experience.  The culmination of that has been to build a chkpool style pool where for as long as I can maintain the costs for me I plan to run Kv5 and others with a 0% fee for solo mining. No PPLNS yet but when it becomes an absolute necessity I plan to add it but there will be a dev fee on PPLNS in the hopes to incentive miners to stay solo minded and diversification.

Check out https://blkshirtpool.com and let me know if you have any issues mining.  Best to find me on the Kv5 discord where I am not far from seeing.  Known issues right now I'm working on is the ability to a whatsminer asic to actually connect.  Other than that so far user experiences seem to be very positive.

Luckily, I found KV5 in its early stages and started mining last night. The blocks are smooth and regular. I wish you all the best. I don't have enough experience, but what I've read is motivating and reassuring. I'm confident in this project.

NETWORK UPDATE — July 4, 2026

Something important happened while we were mining.

On June 22, 2026 — three weeks after KV5's genesis block — the Trump administration signed two binding executive orders:

  • All US federal agencies must migrate to ML-DSA by 2030
  • Every federal agency must designate a named PQC migration lead and maintain a full cryptographic inventory
  • High-value assets begin migrating immediately
  • Federal contractors and vendors selling into the US government market face the same requirement

ML-DSA is the signature scheme securing every transaction on this chain — from block 1, June 1, 2026.

The United States federal government and the KV5 blockchain made the same cryptographic decision. One made it by executive order with a 2030 deadline. The other made it at genesis.

KV5 is the only live PoW chain running the algorithm the US government just mandated for all federal systems — with a known team, a consensus-enforced audit fund, and on-chain proof of production-scale ML-DSA-87 transactions.

The thesis just got a government co-signer.
