Balogun was not deserved that red card and people are right in comparison Balogun case with Messi case. They're very right with that comparison.

I hate VAR, I never like it as it kills emotion in football. I love the old days when players celebrated goals very emotionally, so did fans and mistakes made by players, referees and assistant referees too. It's football in my opinion, while with VAR, it's no longer actual football.

Whether Balogun plays the next match or not isn't going to have much of an impact on the tournament. Belgium have every right to complain but they probably weren't going to go in further rounds anyway. It's pretty much clear which teams reach semi finals. These decisions won't change the final outcome.

We can argue that the decision to revoke Balogun suspension may not have much influence on the game between the Belgium team and USA but shouldn't the right thing be done for the sake of conscience and equity. South Africa was given two red cards in their first game which doubles as the opening game of the tournament but FIFA didn't receive any instructions or threat to call off any one of the red cards on the players towards their next game.
