My perspective would be based inversely vs the dollar index currently indicating no way is it happening this year.   BTC  can always defy expectations but we'd also need Dollar DXY to trade below 100 which it appears to moving upwards not down.  
  Even when BTC does move rapidly, the runway to that move was not as small as it might appear to some.  Many months before a rise there is usually a pattern of rising lows, muted positive action that might even appear negative or remaining negative to some.   We do have a slight positive but the spoiler to the party is that on balance we've still fallen and only just now are correcting some of that.

  Think of the trading days left more then just plain time left, the greatest volume involves all participants and so allowing for various holidays its really not much time for talk of new ATH.

The year has already parted into two and talking about new ATH is like trying to force bitcoin to really break out to the price we didn’t expect of happening. We know that silly things happens on the bitcoin price but that is not really possible and likely to happened because we know that there are things that is holding back bitcoin price, although this could be a stepping stone to the price increase but we shouldn’t be that overwhelmed with the price as anything is possible, and for the poll I have already go with No because we could need an usual thing to happen so that we could see the price gets to our targets.

I’m also doubtful that bitcoin will hit a new ATH this year. This year, we really haven’t seen any signs that Bitcoin can move fast enough, at least for now, over the past few months. We have seen Bitcoin gradually falling down this year, There have been some upward movements, but not strong enough to make a long-term change in trend.

People are always curious about everything, so we should understand it. Although they know the prediction may be wrong but they keep doing it for fun. It is as OP said "For Fun". In this matter, just don't be so serious!

No, it is impossible to reach $150k. You must know the new ATH will be only possible in the bullish season. Now, we are in the bearish season and the current price is only around $63k. It is even not a half of $150k. How it can be $150k? Even if the history may change, but there will be no enough triggers to push Bitcoin price to $150k in this year.

Yep, it is unlikely to see a new ATH this year. We are almost reaching Q4 2026, Bitcoin price even is far from $100k. It requires a lot of time to be above $100k again. Sure, there will be no enough trigger to push Bitcoin to be $150k in the remaining of this year.

Predictions are part of financial markets, so people will always make them, whether they turn out to be right or wrong.

It's hard to find someone who follow the market every day and has never made a prediction. That includes you. Dismissing someone else's prediction and saying Bitcoin will not reach $150k is also a prediction. The only difference is that yours points in the opposite direction

People have made predictions about Bitcoin in the past and many are still making predictions and this will continue in the future. So far I have seen many predictions and none of them were correct. I also do not think bitcoin will hit a new ATH this year and not even the first quarter of next year in my opinion. I think it will take sometimes next year before bitcoin hits the last ath then progress towards hitting the new ATH level. Bitcoin prices are not growing fast the way they used to grow in the past, now the growth rate seems to be slower than it used to be but it also means the market is growing more mature, while the volatility remains the factor that we are all capitalizing around and making profits from It.

The price is unpredictable, the market can change even when you did not expect the price to increase, I believe that the price of Bitcoin can increase at any time...I think when this thread were created the price of Bitcoin were at 60k but now it has appreciated..that's how investor will suddenly invest in bitcoin largely and the price will skyrocket, Do you know that their was a time many people give off in bitcoin and just sudden the price arises, if I'm not mistaken, I think it happens on 2017... Expecting a new ATH this year is definitely not happening, this year is already ending a for some time now bitcoin price has never reached a different price level. Bitcoin currently is at the range of $61k-$64k, expecting $150k before the year ends is impossible or do we expect the price to skyrocket high over night? Obviously next year we’re not seeing that price range, in general before seeing bitcoin price reach the level of $150k it will take longer time than we imagine. Ever since bitcoin got to a new ATH, I bet we’ve not seen bitcoin surpass that range or what are the possibility if bitcoin ever gets to the bullish season will bitcoin make it to $150k because we keep making predictions like such and I’m wondering what if it gets to a price range closer not exactly the same, well we might never know viewing it’s a mere prediction.

14 days on the Dollar index is below 100 or over 1% down in a month following after a new FED chief appeared less hard money then some expected, so hope lives for the bullish counter movement in Bitcoin upwards.
   I still imagine it is not enough to actually get a new ATH but we haven't seen how rapidly assets in the global economy might move, typically the autumn is when momentum picks up.

  Some people are speculating equity markets can see a mid summer boom and new high but I'm not sure that helps Bitcoin unless that peak and future sell sees capital flow to crypto markets somehow, its possible but I don't presume that situation.

The best we can hope for is $100k, and even that is a stretch. Right now, if we get lucky, Bitcoin can get to 80-90k this year, but it won't get close to $150k.
Most of these predictions are just to create a positive atmosphere around Bitcoin so more people will invest. I don't know if it works, but they keep doing it.
Depending on how this year ends, we can expect 100-120k by next year. I expect a lot of demand by the third quarter of next year because we would be approaching the halving by then.

Only those without a plan or enough preparation would call this a difficult time. For those with a clear strategy and who are prepared for both bull and bear market, this might even be the opportunity they have been waiting for all along.

Same here mate, I also don't think that Bitcoin will get close to $150k by the end of the year because it's obvious that it's already moving way too slowly. However, as we already know, we can only keep speculating on the price. But what I have to say to beginners is that they should keep accumulating Bitcoin, they shouldn't be bothered about the price at all because this is even a perfect time to keep buying.

Basically, the $150k price we’re discussing right now will definitely be reached. But it won’t happen this year, reality can sometimes be painful. Don’t pin your hopes on unrealistic expectations that may not materialize anytime soon, let’s start thinking realistically.

Looking at the current price action, Bitcoin is still stuck in a range of around $60k–$67k, as is clearly visible on the daily time frame. Even if a breakout eventually occurs, i don’t think the path to higher prices will be smooth right away, as there are still key zones that could act as barriers, including the daily resistance levels at $74k and $78k. These levels haven’t been rejected yet, so there’s a good chance we’ll see a retracement or selling pressure from sellers immediately after hitting these prices.

Right now, I’d rather see it rise gradually than imagine Bitcoin jumping from $60k straight to $150k in a short period. But if the question is whether Bitcoin could still reach $82k this year, I think the chances are very high. Reaching $150k, however, will require more patience.

The previous bull market began from similar market price and it took almost a year to reach the highest price. With that calculation even if the market starts to turn bullish it'll take another year to touch the ATH value. So, the possible chance of price reaching all time high this year isn't possible. Another thing I believe is the negative incidents happening around the market. More hacks and scams are happening which isn't a good sign. When the market is to move on the bullish trend we'll see more of the positive part of bitcoin. It can be of adoption, real time usage and investment.
