This was partly why Bitcoin was invented with the features it currently has today. The features mean people can use Bitcoin for the right reasons without worrying about the centralized  system preventing them. But if the system claims 'criminal use', Bitcoin is transparent enough for anyone to verify that. If the claim is true, then only the criminals are targeted, as evidence of crime like addresses can be verified by anyone and fund can be confisticated using the evidence when the criminal tries to transfer to another account.
But if things go really bad, such that no one cares whether you're innocent or not, then it becomes OK to use Privacy Crypto like monero and ensuring that the reason for it use and the addresses involved are kept as evidence incase they are requested by the authorities. This should be so because such tools are OK when used to protect oneself when no one would believe you. But you may need to prove you really deserve to use them.

Fait and Bitcoin, Crypto-currency in general wasn't created to be evil, there is no need to start claiming Bitcoin. Wasn't created for evil because that's the obvious fact.
The creators of Bitcoin may have a clean reason but you can't really control other people's actions or what they can do with it same way fiat can also be used by the wrong people Bitcoin too can but many criminals using Bitcoin has also be caught and they will face the appropriate authorities.

For me, Bitcoin represented the opportunity I didn't have in the local society where I lived. Thanks to Bitcoin (and this forum), I was able to build my financial life from scratch, saving each penny for the future, at same time it has been an investment, since it was pennies of Bitcoin.

I won't say it would be impossible to thrive in another ways inside the centralized system society imposes to us, but it would be definitely not possible to thrive in an independent way like I did through Bitcoin. I mean, in a centralized system you are encouraged "to sell your soul" in order to have financial returns. Thankfully, Bitcoin was an alternative to that, and it worked nicely. I can't assure it will always work like this in the future, but I can share my positive experience on this matter.

Bitcoin is a tool for all that sakes a better and an alternative forms of finances.

I feel its very easy for this idea/concept/feature to fall away into the background when the
focus is on what the markets are doing and what the news of the day brings.

Bitcoin isnt just about whats happening now, is the market down or up or whether Microstrategy
are selling or buying. There is something else going on - resistance to the FIAT system and the
laws created by fat cats.

Exchanges record your account login information including your device information, people only don't mind about that when using centralized exchanges because they're careless. It's not only about privacy, KYC, personal identity documents but there are actually more information collected silently by centralized exchanges.

With Bitcoin, using non custodial wallets to have control on UTXOs, transaction broadcast is very good, but if people want more privacy, they have to use Bitcoin full node and Tor.

For example, with Electrum that is only a SPV wallet, there is a method of using it with Tor.

1.OP, I have the feeling that there were a thousand forum threads like yours posted on the forum in the last 10 years. Threads with titles like "Bitcoin is a tool for the privacy loving, freedom seeking cyberpunks" or "Bitcoin is the foundation of the financial revolution", "Bitcoin is the last castle of our financial freedom". I'm not quoting the exact thread titles, but you get the point. This is a Bitcoin forum and praising Bitcoin on a Bitcoin forum is pointless. Do you wan to boost your post count or something? I'm come to realize and accept that Bitcoin for everyone generally, both people who are going to use it for the right things and those who are going to prefer the centralised law over their Bitcoin.

The system that's centralised is also part of the those promoting Bitcoin and wanting people to buy Bitcoin through them, their part is to help people to keep and hold their private keys for them.

I don't feel worried about this anymore because there are people who really want it this way and I am not going to tell people how they are supposed to use their Bitcoin, it's none of my business.

A Bitcoin address can be traced by anyone using Explorer, and if they don't prioritise privacy, it can be linked to their identity, but coins can't be frozen in users' wallets unless they are using an exchange or any other centralised service for holding, which also defies the real idea behind bitcoin.

Just try as much as you can to keep a record of whatever you are doing as long as you are serving the public or trying to resolve some public issue which will put an attack on your back. Try and keep your record clean, not just using privacy coins or tools since not everyone likes you when you are publicly servicing something out of your will.

Indeed, it's created to give us complete freedom regarding our finances, no detector controls how we spend or what we should do with our coin, and it's still serving that purpose because bad actors are using it for illicit activities does not remove it from that purpose. We use it for different purposes depending on our needs.
