My bet was on USA to win because Belgium were not in a good form and considering the determination and ambition USA has to win the world cup if which I know they wouldn't I thought they would win the game effortlessly but the result was absolutely disappointing. This is indeed a revenge game because Belgium scored beyond our expectations. This is what it is important to not underestimate any team especially in the world cup because anything can happen. The round of 16 continues to be a very tough competition.

in this kind of tournament and to this level they are now I think the best prediction to make is to double chance because predicting that a particular team will win you are not sure of it because it is a game and the in a game anything can happen even people you would think that we lose may be the one that will win so this are the most important thing we need to know and whenever we are making predictions we should not depend on a particular team many people have lost to their money and such predictions but I concentrate in only double chance in my prediction

Unfortunately, that was also the first thing that came to my mind after reading the opening post. The ability of this guy to appear in topics of conversation so far from his field of competence is incredible.

But fortunately that wasn't the case, so Belgium will be the ones who will finally have to face the Spanish team in the quarterfinals, in a really promising match no one should miss.

It’s good that reality has set things straight. The bad part is that now we’re 10,000% convinced that FIFA’s top brass is corrupt. The most despicable thing about this situation was their explanation that, supposedly, they made the decision on their own-and that Trump did call and ask them to do it, but… we didn’t listen to him; we decided this OURSELVES....

No matter what FIFA said, we have our opinion already about the issues of transparency, accountability and favoritism in world football. At least that saga cemented that memory in our hearts.
Am glad the Belgium team made it through and proved a point, but their next match against the Spaniards is a real heavyweight clash.
 At least no call from who to whom that makes the game of football look like a kids play, because this match will be exactly what we have enjoyed so far with thrills and masterclass display from both teams.

Sports should be completely fair, free from outside influence. Yes, there should be rules, but they must be applied fairly. By the way, I’ve always wondered why referees who make incorrect calls aren’t barred from officiating matches.
I’ve often heard the explanation that, in such fast-paced games, referees can’t always make objective decisions because of the atmosphere, the dynamics, and their position on the field.  Then why don’t such excuses apply to the players? A certain selectivity is evident here.
And, for example, filing an appeal and providing evidence of the referees’ improper actions also has no consequences for them.

This thread is getting a little outdated, but I take advantage of the fact that it is still open to comment that finally Belgium was defeated by Spain in yesterday's match. Personally, I would have liked to see a match between Spain and the USA so that the news between these two countries, for once, would not have political overtones but simply of healthy competition. Although who knows, because even in the World Cup politics has managed to make its way, confirmed by the news about phone calls from a few days ago that we all know.

I would not guess that would have been "non-political" neither, I mean in fact it would be more political than Belgium to be fair.

Because when USA attacked Iran, with the prompt of Israel, Spain and their president went up and went against USA and Trump, and the president has said awful a lot of things about Trump (that we all agree lol) so Trump was humiliated and warned Spain, and Spain did not backed down. Hence, I believe we would have seen something even more political in that game.
