Great data, OP. It's refreshing to see the actual math laid out instead of the usual speculation. 26 billion in volume sounds crazy, but the social aspect of crash games keeps people clicking way longer than standard slots.
The conspiracy theories about manual crashes don't make much sense anyway. With a 1% house edge on that kind of volume, Stake is already printing hundreds of millions on autopilot. They have zero reason to risk a rigged hash scandal just to snipe a whale for a few extra grand. The math already does the heavy lifting for them.

Agreed and it would be detected instantly if they changed something. Will be interesting to see if they keep the same formula and architecture when all 10m have been played or upgrade to a newer architecture. They'll reach 10m rounds in the next year or so.

Crash games have a fairly well-defined mathematical model !

If we condense the entire Crash game into a single formula, then:
P(M≥x)=(1-h)/ x

where M is a random crash multiplier, x is the cashout coefficient you choose, and h is the house edge.
For example, when h = 1%:
P(M≥1.2) = 0.99/1.2 = 82.5%

And the entire "economics" of the game can be derived from this same formula:
EV = x * P(M≥x) - 1 = x  * ((1−h)/x) - 1 = -h

In other words, no matter what multiplier you choose: 1.01x, 1.5x, 5x, 100x - the expected value of a single unit of currency wagered is the same: -h !

To put it in a single line:

x * P(M≥x)=1-h

Crash is a game where the probability of winning is inversely proportional to the payout amount.
That is precisely why choosing a cashout point changes the frequency of wins and the risk, but does not change the long-term RTP.

Yes 100% and empirically it checks out too.

Damn good analysis right here op. Always knew Stake earned big through their in house games like crash, dice etc, but several billions wagered over the years is just something else. 1% house edge to top it all off is what makes them so enticing.

Some sites like Duel offer 0% house edge though upto a certain limit which is a bit more enticing, but they are nowhere near as reliable as Stake. Also, I wonder how much time it would have taken for that 2.17m x multiplier(Maybe an hour or more).

A game in which the bookmaker takes only 1 percent of the total player deposits is, in my opinion, a very fair game! 🙋

However, if you think about it, in the long run, the player will still lose all their money. If you approach this game with extreme pragmatism, the most profitable strategy would be to try to hit the jackpot, and if you succeed, completely isolate yourself from the internet and quit gambling. What's the payout limit in this game? $1,000,000? For the average person, that's enough to make you quit working for the rest of your life.

So, if you bet $100 on a x10,000 multiplier, you could try to win $1,000,000. And if you win $1,000,000, you can quit gambling. Who knows: maybe you were destined to hit that jackpot, and it was predetermined the moment you were born!  🤔

I always say-don’t go coming up with complicated "conspiracy theories" about casinos plotting against players; just study the math! Smiley Most games are based on simple probability theory, there’s no cheating involved. The deception exists only in our own minds, when we lie to ourselves and then convince ourselves that we can outsmart the theory of probability! So from the casino’s perspective, everything is completely fair; in fact, the math perfectly matches reality, and there’s no magic, no conspiracies, and no cheating.

That is precisely why choosing a cashout point changes the frequency of wins and the risk, but does not change the long-term RTP.

what interests me most is that the probability of the multiplier reaching t is 0.99/t. in this formula, no matter what multiplier you set as your target, the rtp is 99% in the long run.

if you want to walk away from the crash with even a small amount of money, the smartest move is to cash out as soon as you make a profit. the longer you stay in the game, the higher the chance that the 99% rtp will catch up with you.

Well for me, the only thing matters here is that, after that much time (7 years) and that much money (literally billions), the result came in with 99% and that is all that we needed to know about them being fair or not.

Unless they are just recovering later on when they make it crash during high wagering moments lol, then the rest is fine and we can see it. Of course it is not really that easy to keep replicated stakes success, they are the best and biggest right now, but this legit and true to their word provably fair plays a huge role in them being this big.

Impressive use of data. Hard to believe that 26 billion dollars has been wagered on this game. I’ll admit a couple of those dollars are from me. Still, it is absolutely shocking seeing the numbers so big. If Stake takes 1% as you say then that is 260 million dollars in profit from a single game. Quite impressive.

I think 26 billion is even low, haha. I mean we are talking about 7 years of action, at any given minute when you check the homepage there are over 1000 people playing this game. You can even see the top amounts that have been bet by players for every single round.
This for example is just right now, 4000$ in bets this round. Every round takes like 30-60 seconds:

Let's think that only 60 rounds per minute happen, with 4k in wagers. That's 240k wager right there, in 1 hour. That's an easy 6 million in wager just in 1 day for this game. So yeah, makes 26 billion not like much tbh.

Hi guys,

I made a math explainer video breaking down Stake Crash.

Stake's Crash game has taken $26B in wagers over 7 years. Is it actually fair? I re-derived all 8.2 million rounds it has ever played and checked the maths.
Hear this honest statement.
Gambling is not a fair game right from the get-go, even if the chances of winning are known and transparent, because every game was created to be in favor of the gambling platform, which will pay the player and the game provider.
This is the reason why gmbling sould b consider as a game of chance, not something that aligns with making a living through it, but if anyone was able to make a living through thats good for him/her.

The 1% edge holds at every cash-out target, so no strategy changes the return.

The interesting part: Stake has known all 10 million results since 2019 and still can't touch one. The original seed is the master key; anyone holding it could regenerate the chain and predict every remaining round. Seven years without a leak is impressive OPSEC.
If you dont trust their service dont use it. That's one thing i would say about a gambling platform.

This is the first video I've made, If you find it valuable and want another game broken down let me know.
How about you provide the breakdown of the information we will see in the video? I want to watch it, but as much as it's a YouTube video, I'm having the impression that it could just be for getting more views.

Like the op did, I believe there are lot of really talented dudes out there who must have carried out a similar research, analysis to find out if stakes games can be really trusted especially when they claim a game is provably fair, they discovered they can trust the casino and this is what has contributed to the massive growth the casino over the years.

If any of this individual carried out such analysis and discovered any loophole from which stake is extorting or stealing from users while claiming a game is probably fair, I believe such would be published with the necessary proofs and that would have affected the casino's reputation badly, and today, stake wouldn't be as big as they are, this is if they even still exist.
No business can grow to the level where stake is without potential users, users and even competitors looking for something to use to discredit the business.

If the statistics by O.P proves that in the last 7years that over $26 billion have been wagered on Stake crash game, then it's understandable, because you literally can't compare the total number of people who now gamble on the Crash game with last year or probably 5years ago.  Because for the fact that each round now in July 2026 is shown to be generating $4000, then it's possible that last year or last 3years, what that round might have been generating would have been far lower than that or maybe below $2000. And if you are to accumulate over the last 7years, then you probably would have gotten that $26 billion.

However, if you are to follow the recent calculations which you did above,

That is;
Assuming each round last 30 to 60 seconds
And in each rounds, over $4000 is been wagered
So that means in a hour we are likely to have 60 rounds (I.e 60 x $4000 = $240,000)
And if $240,000 is been wagered in an hour, that means day = ($240,000 x 24 = $5,760,000) also same ae $,5.7million
In a year = ($5,760,000 x 365 = $2,102,400,000)  also same as $2.1billion
And in 7years = (i.e 2,102,400,000 x 7 = $14,716,800,000) also same as $14.7billion

So that means with your average calculations $14.7billion is still even lover as compared to what O.P gave to hav been wagered on Crash game for the last 7years of $26billion. But however, we can't remove the fact that the amount gambled per each round may sometimes rises and also falls too.

That’s exactly how the situation looks from a mathematical perspective! I always tell those who try to accuse casinos of some kind of !conspiracy! to !cheat the player!: study math! The casino isn’t cheating you-you’re cheating yourselves with expectations that won’t be met once you understand the math behind these processes! Precisely because I’m well-versed in math, I’ve never viewed gambling as a way to make money, but only as a fun pastime Smiley

That is;
Assuming each round last 30 to 60 seconds

The 26B wagered is self reported by stake.

But we do know there is 8.3m rounds since July 8 2019 launch. So 2,563 days it's been operating.

Average rounds

Per day: 8,300,000 ÷ 2,563 ≈ 3,238 rounds/day
Per hour: 8,300,000 ÷ 61,512 ≈ 135 rounds/hour

With 26.38B wagered across 8.3M rounds:

26,380,000,000 ÷ 8,300,000 ≈ $3,178 per round on average

These are approx numbers.

So they are making 1 percent every round of $3178? Doesn't sound like much but over years its a nice little gift for them
