Hi everyone,
I'm thinking about building a Windows desktop app and want honest feedback before spending time on it.
The idea
A tool for people who keep coins on a cold wallet (offline storage). Before any transaction can be sent, you'd need to confirm via 2FA — same style as Google Authenticator. No code → no send.
Cold storage protects your keys, but if someone gets access to your PC, they might still try to push a transaction through without a second factor. This adds that extra lock.
Scope
1.Bitcoin first as the pilot 2.Same concept for other UTXO-based coins later — Litecoin, Dogecoin, and similar, based on demand 3.Works alongside your existing wallet setup — not replacing it, not custodial 4.Simple guided setup on first launch 5.Transaction details shown before you enter 2FA (amount, address, fee)
You use cold / offline storage You want 2FA before every send You hold BTC, LTC, DOGE,etc, or plan to Not a new coin, not an exchange — just a security layer. If the idea is dumb or already solved better elsewhere, tell me straight.
Poll (reply with numbers):
Interested? — Yes / Probably / Neutral / No How relevant is this for you right now? — Very / Somewhat / Haven't thought about it / Not relevant Do you use cold storage? — Yes / No / Planning to Would 2FA before every cold-wallet send help you? — Yes / Nice to have / Don't need it Would you use this if setup is straightforward? — Yes / Probably / Unsure / No Which coins & wallets do you use? — (free text: BTC/LTC/DOGE, Core, Electrum, etc.) Thanks — trying to see if anyone actually wants this before we build.
