There are a lot of wallets out there, and they are so many that one can't keep up with all of them. I'm going to make this short because I'm looking for one myself.

Based on my experience, I have used Trust Wallet, and it's been fine. But over the years, I noticed that someone can fake a coin transfer, and it will appear in the person's wallet even though the coin isn't actually there. Even though they claim to be secure, I don't really like that feature.

So I'm asking, as a Nigerian in need of a wallet that best fits our ecosystem.

Which one are you using that gives you confidence in them?

Note: I'm asking about decentralized software wallets, not hardware wallets. It should be based on experience and not random links referring me to choose wallet.

I'm just coming back from replying on a similar thread you created on Bitcoin discussion board, you've not even read to see the corrections you were issued there and we're here again.

Are you spamming the forum?

No I am not. I created that one based on every countries experience. This is based on Nigerians experience. You can see from my explanation I used Nigerian ecosystem. What works for the public might not work for Nigerians herself. That's why this trend. You were supposed to read it properly to see what I was pointing out. Anyways, don't view this as a confrontation. I didn't consider it spam because they are meant for different audiences. Besides, I'm doing this for myself.

Let me just believe he’s making like a survey and taking samples recommendations from the general board and local board as well, and I think the local board was created for us to have like a easier discussion probably in our local language or in a simpler terms. I don’t want to assume he’s spamming. but OP you may also consider not creating two threads with similar context next time just to be on the safe side as the forum have people with different thoughts and assumptions.

But if we consider our board, then maybe many of us use Trust Wallet and Electrum Wallet, the users of other wallets may be a little less than the users of these two wallets. But yes, I personally liked Trust Wallet more earlier and I used to advise everyone to use Trust Wallet, but currently Electrum Wallet is my favorite. Electrum Wallet has many more benefits than trust and I feel it is quite safe compared to trust wallet. Because if we consider the fee control in Electrum, we will see that there is a very detailed fee control facility but trust wallet has a fee control facility but in a limited way. Electrum Wallet is much faster than trust wallet. There are several more benefits in Electrum Wallet

No I am not. I created that one based on every countries experience. This is based on Nigerians experience. You can see from my explanation I used Nigerian ecosystem.,
This is a community that might post similar things, do not be surprised at all that the wallets that will be listed by people on the general boards will also be the wallets that people will post on this thread. This thread is not necessary at all, but it is valid.

Note: I'm asking about decentralized software wallets, not hardware wallets. It should be based on experience and not random links referring me to choose wallet.
Someone corrected this on the other thread already. There is nothing called decentralized wallet, it is called noncustodial wallet which means the wallet belongs to you and only you can have full control of the wallets.

I will suggest you to use bisq, hold hodl as they are decentralized exchange wallets you can use, but when it comes to a software wallet client, I will suggest that you make use of Bitcoincore, but this is for advanced users who understand more procedures on how to go about using it because it may require you to download the blockchain.

It is also important that we make use of a non-custodial wallet as long as it does not have any security bridge, but the non-custodial wallet we are referring to here should be an open-source non-custodial wallet.

He is asking of noncustodial wallets and not decentralized exchanges. Bitcoin Core is good, but the full blockchain is moving closer to 1 terabytes. I think it will be close to or more than 800 gigabyte by now.

I guess OP will prefer SPV wallets, but for privacy Bitcoin Core is recommended.

It is also important that we make use of a non-custodial wallet as long as it does not have any security bridge, but the non-custodial wallet we are referring to here should be an open source noncustodial wallet.
Close soruce wallets should not be used will be my advice regardless.

Yeah I also support individuals should always use non custodial open source wallets. Trust Wallet used to be fully open source but since they closed off some features, it’s when this kind of issues started. Though I still use them to store some coins I wouldn’t recommend holding bitcoin there for a long term.

For the OP, I would suggest the Electrum Wallet or the Blockstream BTC wallet, some people even use the blue wallet. This are good open source non custodial wallets. Electrum is best on computers than mobiles.

Electrum is also good on mobile phones. It has sending with less than 1 sat/vbyte, address/coin freezing which in one way or the other used for coin control, supporting multisig and has almost everything that a bitcoin wallet supposed to have. The only thing left now is for it to have sending to multiple addresses at a time in one transaction. But, yes, desktop Electrum is better than mobile Electrum.

3. Coinomi
This is one of the wallets that I have used before, until I know on the technical board that it is a close source wallet. I can not recommend anyone to use a close source wallet. Although, it began as an open source wallet, but later become close source I think in 2021 just like Trustwallet. It is better for people to stay away from such wallets.

Popular wallets are not country-specific. What is most important for all countries, not just Nigeria, is whether you keep your private key to yourself, whether the wallet is open-source, whether you can keep a proper backup, whether there is fee control, and whether it can be done from an official source when downloading. However, if you want to understand the comparison of wallet fees, you can read this.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5584584.msg66788321#msg66788321

I also still count on the desktop version for electrum to be honest but of recent I think there have been updates on the android mobile version and sooner maybe the sending to multiple addresses will be available but for now you can actually have that on BlueWallet mobile app where after entering the first recipient details you click on the three dots on the top right and click on “add recipient” to add another receiver although this is a bit stressful than using electrum desktop. For mobile version this little things are what makes me chooses BlueWallet over electrum mobile wallet, not to add the lack of the version for IOS users

I'm just new in this platform and I was directed to be posting in this place, The question you asked is something that is easier to know without asking the people who belong here, out this platform I already wallet's that is good for someone to use and wallet that will not allow people to have to were you keep your coins
We have a custodial wallet and noncustodial wallet, which with research you can know them, but your question is the wallet that will be perfectly use in Nigeria, the answer is that so many wallet are supported in Nigeria, but you can decide to choose any wallet you want to use, we have the following wallet in exclusion of Trust wallet

Electrum wallet
Exodus wallet
Coinomi wallet

All this wallet are good to be use, but we only choose to use trust wallet because is the one that we are familiar with, most of my friends I know have trust wallet

Transaction fee shouldn't be what you are looking for in a good wallet. I think Electrum wallet has it all because it's fee is custom that's you can adjust it and it also has RBF. Electrum is beginners friendly and also a light weight wallet. I use blue wallet and Electrum but I feel more comfortable with Electrum wallet.

Exodus wallet
Coinomi wallet

All this wallet are good to be use, but we only choose to use trust wallet because is the one that we are familiar with, most of my friends I know have trust wallet
These two wallets Exodus wallet and Coinomi wallet ain't open source and it's not good to use a wallet that's not open source because there can be a back door anytime to steal customers funds. It means that they're not good wallets for safety and privacy.

Exodus is not an open source, you're mistaken Exodus with Coinomi, if Exodus is an open source correct me, I'm ready to learn from anyone who correct me

As far as forum is concerned this na similar topic with the one wey they general board and e fit be spamming. Make him lock the thread for now.
