The risen rate of this HIV virus in Nigeria should create awareness

Lagos recorded the highest number of new HIV infections in Nigeria in 2025, according to the Federal Ministry of Health. See the top 10 states with the highest HIV cases.
Lagos recorded 10,430 new HIV infections, the highest among Nigeria's 36 states and the FCT in 2025, Nigeria reported a total of 102,025 new HIV infections during the year, according to the Federal Ministry of Health.
Rivers, Kano, Akwa Ibom, Taraba and Benue ranked among the states with the highest number of new HIV infections.
Health experts say the figures represent newly reported cases and should not be interpreted as the overall HIV prevalence in each state, The report showed that 102,025 new HIV infections were recorded across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the year, highlighting the continued burden of the virus despite ongoing prevention and treatment efforts.
According to the ministry's state-by-state breakdown, Rivers State ranked second with 6,287 new infections, followed by Kano State with 6,106, Other states with high numbers of newly recorded HIV infections include Akwa Ibom (5,413), Taraba (4,854), Benue (4,804), Anambra (4,468), Kaduna (3,659), Adamawa (2,989) and the Federal Capital Territory (2,764), this is the ranking as follows;

As this the case of HIV is spreading, people should be very much careful how they go about their daily routine. For instance using of sharp objects on their body like that of hair clipper, needle, razor blades, injection syringe, not allowing your fresh wound having contact with external blood from another person. If one is having fun and pleasure, they should be able to use protection so they can be safe out there. At least these measures could sit well with whomever care's to abide to health policy to keep them safe from HIV outbreak.

The world which has become something else. In the olden time, most girls marry those that deflowered them. Rarely will you see someone having sex with another man's wife. But we are in the modern time that this has become something else. Most of our women are deflowered by those that did not marry them and they are now calling it body counts. The number of HIV cases in our country is so alarming.  And this number of HIV cases will be increasing not decreasing as the years run by. My pity will be for those who refuse to zip up, not putting on protection(condom) when making out cause that's a straight way of contracting HIV.  

So, this time around calls for abstinence from sex. And for those who can't, go and marry, to remain faithful therein to your partner. It could save you from putting your life and that of your partner in jeopardy of living with HIV vaccines all days of your life.

This figures are really alarming, it should ring a bell of caution to everyone living in Nigeria to be double careful, HIV is one virus that damages the immune system and leaves the victim prone to several other illnesses, HIV is one virus that i wont wish even my enemy, with this new awareness people really need to stay safe. I feel bad government has also contributed to this risen number of persons living with HIV in Nigeria, some of this younger girls that go around jumping from one sugar daddy to another and spreading the virus from one person to the other is sometimes forced into doing the prostitution because of hardship, the Nigerian economy is so bad that some of this girls can’t cater for their immediate needs without sleeping around, in the university some lectures even demand to sleep with this girls just to pass them. I really think every Nigerian has to be extremely careful so that no one will fall victim of being HIV positive, the stigma around anyone that is tested HIV positive is even what kills faster than the virus, the stigma will keep the victim completely depressed and isolated throughout the remaining part of the persons life.

The rate of HIV is so alarming, people should be very careful now ,the level at which many are so careless with there health, many girls are into hookup,some men sees a woman for the first time all they think about is sex , without protection whereby indangering lives ,the level of immortality in the world is too much ,I won't say people should abstein from sex but we all need is to be extremely careful with our lives,I have a friend who is a nurse,and she told me in my city many are infected with HIV and showed me so many result she snap in there lab ,I became so scared ,many people are sick out there but you wouldn't know,even sharing of  personally belonging is risky,because some that knows there status would want others to get it too,so everyone of us should be extremely careful.

The rate of immorality is high in the country due to unprotective sex and sometimes women who are hustling for money and going into prostitution for means of survival, HIV is not a disease that needs not to be taken unseriously because it can be transferred to another not only by sex but sharing sharp objects from people you don't even know that's why I don't clean my nails from those roadside Hausas that cleans nails because some of them don't sterilize their scissors properly before using it and if by chance they had used it for someone that has the infection that's how you will get infected.

Mostimes we can't really blame the ladies because the economy and hardship in Nigeria is worrisome which has forced many females into hook-ups and prostitution so they can survive, the stigma alone on you knowing that one is HIV positive can even kill the individual that is infected, we all ought to be careful and use a protection during sexual intercourse. People really need to abstain from sex because it's fearful due to the high number of HIV patients.

Sex is the highest transmitter of Hiv currently. At least 90% of HIV cases were transmitted through sexual intercourse. Unfortunately, the rate at which unprotected sex is increasing every day calls for alarm. A 15-year-old girl now has close to 20 body counts. Also, even protected sex with condoms cannot stop HIV transmission. Im talking about when the pores of the skin of a newly shaved man or woman get sex. By then, the pores are still fresh. The liquid from both parties, if touched on the open skin, can infect the person without HIV.
