So few days ago, I booked a P2P trade on bitget but the buyer did not paid immediately, I waited and waited for about 20 to 30 minutes the buyer didn't pay, but a long the line while I was waiting for the buyer to make the payment so that I can release the coin to him, the buyer them sent the money (I received an alert on my opay), then I go straight to my bitget to release the coin but unfortunately the buyer had cancelled the trade after sending me the money. I reported the issue buy no response from the buyer till the next day, but before that I had already messaged the buyer through his WhatsApp number he provides already on his terms and conditions. To cut long story short, the buyer didn't not respond to his chat on bitget and WhatsApp till the next day. The guy even delay to reply my chat, just make everything dey frustrating. But after everything, he contacted me on bitget the next day and I responded that I had messaged him already on WhatsApp, so he replied me and we talked then we went directly to bitget and everything was sorted out as I released the coin to him. I don't know why he paid and cancelled the trade but one thing I had in mind is that maybe he was having challenges with bank network or just from his network service. Cuz I know truly well that he didn't cancel the trade intentionally (who does that in the economy?) So what do you think made him send money and cancelled trade? Will you resend the token back to the vendor after paying and canceling the trade?

Yes, I will send the money back to the account that sent me the money. That would even be the reason I contacted him. There was a day I received huge amount of money from someone which was a mistake, the person later was able to contact me. I requested the number that sent the money to me and he gave me. I sent the money back to the person to the same bank account that sent it. That is only what will not make me report to the police after I have contacted my bank customer care about it.

They do alot of trade at the same time so he must have probably made some mixup but to the extent of cancelling an active trade , then I think he must be on something. Probably drunk and wasn't thinking straight or could be feeling sleepy while doing the trade (not necessarily high on alcohol). Another possibility network issue (ISP ), thinking you've release the coins and it's just yet to reflect because of the network. It could be what you assumed though. It's hard to tell , you could have asked him yourself. The numb3r is still with you, ask him why he did it

I shouted at the person through voice note on WhatsApp because I thought the person is a scammer. After everything the I asked the person to send me the transaction receipt and so she did before I discovered that they sent the money to my other opay account, I apologize to her and send the money immediately.

This type of experience is totally strange one, and I was wondering why you were being stressing yourself that much to contact the buyer after much because if it was a banking network error from the vendor and he was a reputable vendor, he should had related to you about the issues on his side instead of just canceling the trade. I am to believe that you were also trying to be honest with the vendor which is why you were being concerned about releasing the coin after receiving payment but I hope you did not only rely on confirming the payment by the bank alert? Because there are tendencies of fake alert which is why we have to check our bank balance to authenticate the transaction was really successful. I don't know why he paid and cancelled the trade but one thing I had in mind is that maybe he was having challenges with bank network or just from his network service. Cuz I know truly well that he didn't cancel the trade intentionally (who does that in the economy?)
Just the similar I am thinking about your effort to return the money back to him after he had paid and the trade was cancelled. I am sure some people in your situation would want to play smart and overlook the vendor after all you have been the one concerned to contact with him just to release the coin. Perhaps he would not have got any evidence against you in the P2P platform because the deal was already cancelled in the platform. So, you deserve a honest recognition for the attributes.

Exactly, to be on the safe side it's best to refund the money to the account the funds came from this is because you don't even know the condition of the funds you received. There are a lot of bad money out there people are trying to clean them by putting other innocent people into trouble for things they do not know anything about. Honestly your advice seem to be the best idea to solve issues like this. Some people may want to take advantage that he already canceled the trade hence it's not their fault and will want to claim right without knowing that they might be more to what you're thinking ordinarily, the money you received might even be Money that was paid for ransom.

What you did was right, refunding back the money was the best decision, there are lots of hidden lies or truth which you may not know, I hope you did accordingly to what Charles-Tim explained, the refund should go back to the same account. Mistakes happen, he might not have something up sleeve but one needs to be careful.

This case is a little bit strange but familiar too. Some people would think it's another scam scheme maybe, because no one in their right sense would cancel an order after making payment.
But you made the right decision, there should be no further complications in the future to this regard. You sure deserve a form of compensation for your sincerity and honest actions.

The narrated event usually take place, as many do experience, the aspect one may fall victim if through it is a scam is by sending to another account as the manipulation will take place in the order account which the sender may provide but if it's return with same the sender used, it's difficult for scam if throughly it's scam orchestrated event, I happen to operate POS where I witnessed some one sending me small fraction of our currency, immediately what fellows is all manner of calls with different numbers but what I did in applying little wisdom and smartness I returned the money by using some operating POS close to me to avoid anything contrary to what the sender may have in mind and give the call on the user who sent the money, occasionally things of this kind happened as mistake but some time it could be a scam but one really need tactical measure in handling situation likes to avoid some regret.

One thing is that his head might be filled with a lot of things that he forgot he has even sent the money. he is just lucky that he is dealing with a transparent person that is kind enough to reach out to him first because not so many persons will be willing to do so. this also tells us that sometimes, it is not just those that are selling their coin that encounters losses, even the buyers also face their peculiar challenges and if they are not lucky enough, they can get scammed also. generally, if there is bank delay, the buyer can easily DM you to inform you of such or possibly counsel the transaction if it persist.

Maybe it was a mistake or maybe a network challenge from his own end, you know one thing about all this network is that it has is own way of frustrating someone in the middle of a transaction and if you aren't careful it can mess your whole day up. I admire your transparency and your sincerity in ensure everything was able to go smoothly again.

Using a traditional bank instead of a microfinance bank can be very frustrating. The other I did a p2p that I sent large money to a buyer using traditional bank and unfortunately, my bank generated a receipt but the merchant did not receive the money. I went to the bank, and the customer service confirmed the transaction was successful, while the merchant is yet to receive any money after checking his statement directly from his own bank. It lasted for a week before the money was reversed to me. My question is, why generate a receipt for a failed transaction? The confusion was much greater because I had to accuse the merchant of not releasing my coin.

After everything the I asked the person to send me the transaction receipt and so she did before I discovered that they sent the money to my other opay account, I apologize to her and send the money immediately. That very kind of you resending the money back and even contacting the guy who canceled the order after making the payment on your main topic. I guess you do always fall victims alot in scenarios like this where people send you money mistakenly or even this situations that happen between you and the bitget guy. To be sincere I don’t always fall in this scenario being it receiving money from unknown users or unknown sources or even p2p problems. I know for sure in this economy where things are tough and cost of living is dealing with citizen then many people will be happy for the guy canceling the order even after sending the money. But such action is totally wrong to run away with someone’s belonging that very wrong. Sooner or later your positive character will be merited to you in one way or the other. God always works in mysterious ways.

So what do you think made him send money and cancelled trade? Will you resend the token back to the vendor after paying and canceling the trade?
I have been a p2p vendor before when binance p2p was still working, so by experience I think that it's mostly when you are overwhelmed by orders. Mr A, B, C and D all click on your ads to sell their coin to you at the same time, and because you are in a hurry to deliver all the deal on time, you are likely going to make a mistake. As for this case, I think that he was just confused by the large numbers of people he was attending to, at the same time. What all vendors normally does is by going through all the transactions they did after they have closed for the day, that's when they are going to figure out any mistakes that was done if their is any, which was the main reason he later try to call your attention the next day. And finally, as a business person that has been in business for a very long time, experience has taught me a lot of things, especially when dealing with people that being transparent is the best way to build trust, so why would I keep money that is not mine? I will always returns it back no more what.

Will you resend the token back to the vendor after paying and canceling the trade?
I don't really use bitget exchange, but I know there is time set for every P2P trade, which is on a countdown, and when the time has elapse, the trade automatically closes, that I think might be what happened for the trade to have closed. Just as you said who does that in the economy? On the other way round, bank network is another serious challenge we have in this country, and because of the bank delay, the trade timer on the bitget P2P has reached the time for the trade to end and the trade closes while the bank is still processing the transaction. This then made it look like the buyer closed the trade. For it to take a longer time for the buyer to respond could be that he is not always active online. Good to have a completed transaction between you two, cause its almost like the both of you are among the rarest persons we have in this country... So long communication was made between the two persons, then refunding is possible.

Just as you said No mate, the trade was cancelled by the buyer, the buyer for no send money if to say the trade countdown elapse. Just like I talk earlier, e go be say na mistake, probably when the buyer won send the money but em bank network begin worry or network provider frustrate am. If no be network maybe the orders been too much so em gats cancel some of them but em no quick remember say em done already send money to me. I no sure say the buyer intentionally cancel that trade because with the way this economy hard so, every penny dey very important so long as say na money you work for.

I was thinking of a case where he didn't make the payment till the last few minutes of the count down. I don't know of bitget but other exchange p2p has similar so I guess they do too.
Some of the vendors make use of automatic systems, so when they pay they just think that the seller would release coins and the trade ends immediately. This should be the case of this guy.
You could have waited also for him because he will definitely message you to send the money back from him when he realized that then trade was not complete. But still you did good.

Nigeria's banking system can be frustrating at times. Many times, I have sent money with my mobile app to someone, it didn't go through, but I was debited which I didn't find out on time, until I was notified that the money I sent went through.
What I said above, should be the case of the vendor who cancelled his trade with you. Maybe on his own side, he has tried sending the funds to you, but the bank he is using is not allowing him to get done with the transaction, so he then cancelled the trade than continue wasting your time. But unknown to him, he didn't know the amount he was to send to you had gone through. Never his mistake, the bank problem.
You did well to notify him anyway because by the time he receives the text message that he sent a so-so amount to someone, you might have spent all the money sent to you and it will be difficult to call back your attention to the trade you made with him a few days ago
