What is wrong with Africa teams?

Maybe it's more the emotional side that affects African players. For many, many years, they were always punchbags for other national teams, and it's only recently that they've been finding their footing in football and putting on good performances and solid runs... So, it's just a matter of time and gaining experience in competitions of this level, like a World Cup.

Congratulations to France for beating Morocco to progress to the next round of the competition. You don't have to blame other African countries if they decided not to support Morocco in the game. Morocco should not be regarded as an African teams because they have made it known that they are not part of Africa so if they go back home they should try and separate themselves from other African countries because they won't be getting any further support when they play any tournaments cause they made it open that they are not African. Their skin color is white they should continue to see themselves as white even as they prepare to go bask to their country.

Algeria are also skin white, but you don't see them make such bizarre comments about other African countries. If Morocco are highly interested in distinguishing themselves from Africa as a continent, they should publicly make clear where they stand and where they wish to belong, change everything concerning their federation that relates to Africa, from playing in the AFCON to whichever continental tournament they wish to belong.

We are not begging for who to belong to Africa, I understand we are far from making history in international tournaments despite Morocco having gone far than others, I believe with time, Africa will make history.

African teams in this knockout stage of the world cup have not played to expected end after early lead up to second half, why?

So what reason could you attribute to this abysmal failure that cut across these teams. Senegal lost to Belgium after 2 goals up, Dr Congo had same issue.

Today, Egypt led Argentina up to 78 minutes of the second half by 2 goals and conceded 3 goals within 20 minutes, this is appalling. Although, this is the intrigues in the game but it has become almost like a routine for African teams.

A simple take, so what do we think is the problem?

Could it be lack of energy to conclude their winning?

Could it be defensive errors?

Could it be over confidence?

Could it be wrong substitute or no substitute / coaching crew mistake?

Could it be lack of focus from players and coaching crew?

I feel like it is inferiority complex that is worrying African teams. They kind of assume they are the lesser teams in the competition, which is why they tend to throw away their games in the last minutes of play. They get a lead and start panicking instead of staying calm and seeing the game through. Look at Egypt against Argentina, 2 goals up with 20 minutes left and they collapsed. It is not fatigue, it is not bad luck. It's a mental thing. They stop believing they can win and start playing like they are waiting to lose. That mindset has to change. Until African teams start believing they belong on the same pitch as anyone else, we will just keep being tourists in every World Cup competition.

To be honest, I don't want to accept it and I never did but watching Marruescos play today, I realized that if they're struggling to find their game, there's something missing I don't know maybe they need to be more aggressive up front, to shake off the pressure being put on them. European teams and some like Argentina know how to play against them, I think African teams with more support will reach a higher level in the future.

Well, there's no need for such question because all the African countries has been eliminated from the world cup, it's so sad though.  Morocco was our only hope but looking at Thier opponent then I just loss my hope because I know France is not that easy to be defeated even though Morocco is very consistent in their performance but not when it has to do with country like France. It seems that the world cup is not meant for African countries LoL, maybe I'm over thinking things but obviously that's how it looks like and I have seen a lot of people saying similar thing.

African team you are underrating the African continent, if you want to make a measure of a country it will be good for you to mention them particularly because there are some countries who we did not expect to reach the level there are in this tournament but they go to the point, do you know that Brazil is one of the top countries that do participate in World Cup tournament and the merit it but now Brazil is not real to be found they have gone so you cannot make comparison like that because it is a game and the next season maybe those people who is playing very well now some of their players will be retired and other countries whom they're players are still active that play in this season will play a next tournament of World Cup by then they have gathered more experience, so winning is not by country and is not by continent it is by the performance of the players

Yes African teams are putting up more direct fight than ever before. And Morocco shown their fighting spirit again by reaching quarterfinals. But lets be realistic. They are still getting knocked out by powerhouse like France and Argentina.

I saw Morocco fight hard against France tonight. But end of the day, Mbappe and Dembele did their job. Don't get me wrong, African teams have talent, passion. In some cases they have better preparation. But their lack of squad depth and tactical consistency under pressure are what are holding them back. Another big issue is lack of experience in big stage.

I would say that it is wrong to say that it is no one's fault. Their failure to strengthen domestic leagues, build a better youth system s what is holding them back. Along with this they have to solve problem off the field.

It was quite disappointing that morroco lost to France today, they were Africa's last hope of bringing the cup to the continent but unfortunately this could not happen this season. People had their reasons why they favoured france that win the the match but the main reason is because of the fact that African teams haven't been consistent in the world cup . It was not really how I expected because I thought morroco would be able to score on goal at least.

This is still a mystery still till today that has never been solved. I can't really fathom or say what their problems are, whether it's lack of preparation or lack of funding before the World Cup, or lack of players interest to showcase their talents and best at the World Cup stage. This has today become a puzzle no one has been able to solve. Because I don't really see much reason why these African teams have refused to go past this stage and at least reach the final, let alone lift the trophy.

Morocco played well and lost because France was stronger than them. In such a competitive match, fans are satisfied even if their favorite team loses because the team played well and won or lost. France was aggressive from the beginning of the match and put a lot of pressure on the Moroccan defense. Although Morocco had the upper hand in possession of the ball, France overall played well and won.

The African teams that participated in this World Cup have caused great surprises, among them Morocco was the last team to be eliminated after losing to France. The most surprising performance was by the newcomers to the World Cup, Cape Verde. I admire the team that they have shown great performance and have won many games, but psychologically the team needs more maturity.

I gotta be honest, I had a little bit of hope for MOR to defeat France, so we could have had some thing different for the finals of the Worldcup.
I guess African teams still have a long path to walk in order to become more competitive against European and Latin American teams.

There will be always ankther world cup and four years it is a lot of time for them to improve. I would like to see some African Team to claim the world cup some day before I die, to be honest, It would be quite a change for what we all are accustomed to.

On the other hand, I also have to admit I am quite happy for Argentinians, they are going though and very rough time there in their country, at least they can enjoy football in order to forget their personal problems for a while.

That is what happens in sports which anything happens. But this could be sign for Africa team that they could be better than previous so this could gives them more spirit and confident to be better in the future. It is sadly but that is the result so they must train better, more than ever because they will have more chances in the future. Losing from France doesn't mean they can't beat France in the next World Cup especially if they can train. They have more opportunities to win not only from France but from other countries.
