I was doing that before ,after deposit,I calculate the amount I spent on games ,at least in a month I check my wins and loses ,most times I realized how much I have spent in a month ,so that has helped me to be able to regulate my gambling habit and also how I manage my bankroll,now I have a specific amount I gamble with weekly,the one that won't affect me and if I don't win for sometime, I can easily calculate how much I deposit for a month or two ,them with that I can just stop for a while and restrategize again ,so keeping record is actually necessary.

This topic was discussed before but it’s not popular approach since doing this will just give you more stress due to accumulated losses on your casino journey.

It’s a guaranteed loss in the long run so most likely it’s just a tracking on much you will lose. This is not a bad idea and I actually do this before but I stop already since nothing change even if I track it or not since I play whenever I want.

What important is to gamble responsibly to make sure you are not spending what you can’t afford to lose.

No, I don't think that we should be very strict with record of our W/L. Why? Because it will just make things complicated on the end of the gamblers. I know that our memory will fail us at some point, but still it's good practice to just have it in our mind and mentally compute if you are in the winning or losing end.

Unless you are going to stop gambling for good, then you can go back to records. But if not, and what you are going to do is just have a reset, then it doesn't make sense to have this kind of records.

Actually this is a must but for me a non active gambler who dont use this as like my source of income I just casually play on casino and use it as my boredome alternative and a stress reliever. Yes being responsible gambler this is good to monitor potential money wasted and accounting stuff.

In my case, the latter. If I sit down to check my profits and losses, I already know what I’m going to see: losses. Only if I won the lottery or a similar big prize could I consider myself to be in profit, but because of the house edge, the more money you bet, the more money you lose in the long run. People don’t usually realise this, which explains some of the stories we see on the forum.

Very true. Aside from people who really consider gambling as a career or those who are professionals in it, I see this taking note or record of one’s profits and losses in gambling as a complete and total waste of time, because there’s absolutely nothing such an information would do for a regular casual gambler. What matters is that you have a working strategy and you’re able to stick to your budgets and limits, how much you’re losing or winning shouldn’t be much of a big deal.

I don’t know how everyone manages their gambling budget. But I’ve already set a definite weekly budget. I don’t track all my finances, I just divide it based on an amount I set myself according to my needs. 
What’s really hard to manage is when you gamble without a budget limit. Often, you see money still in your account and you end up betting it.

Gambling is a game of luck and the risk is already too much, trying to keep record is like trying to bring back the memory of the entire loses one have encountered. Like me sometimes if I keep imagining the amount I lost without even writing it down it pains me Alot, so doing that will make me feel emotional and I may reduce my rate of gambling or even quite. Some things are just meant to be And no need to stress ourselves. It would have been nice to try it out, but since it's a game of risk just like money for fun, there is no need.

I don't  know how other do keep the record  of their  gambling  expense  but the gambling  site mostly  do not have the feature yet, they only give records of won and lost  slip for some duration  of time. Although  I have my way of getting  my record  from the platform  I used in  funding my  betting account  there is a feature  that help keep record and calculate  the exact amount  I have funded to the betting  site and the amount  I withdraw  from it.  With  that I can easily calculate  to know if I made profit  or loss.
But it will also be nice if the gambling  site  can also put it in their feature.  it's not something  that is supposed  to be that difficult  and it will help to  manage  risk and decipline  users on amount  they are staking, because  of proper  assessment  and accounts. A lot of people are  staking  so much  and not know exactly  because  they don't get the record.

Is there anyone who has such a notebook? Some casinos have a profit/loss feature, but not all of them... but someone can check deposit/withdraw history and do the math.

I don't care about my overall profit/loss... If I wish to play & I can afford to spend some money on that, I will simply do it. I think there's no point in keeping any records if we like to play luck-based games... It's too tricky. People who wish to get more serious before everything they need to focus on sports betting & poker first.

However, whatever amount of money I assign to gambling is considered a lost to me and I accept it like that.

I think you meant assessment. I am using just 1% of my weekly income to gamble. In fact, it is worse this year as it is a bit lower than 1% of my weekly income. I do not even bother to make any assessment at all because I know I have gambling in country and it is only taking just tiny part of my money which does not need any calculation. I just wish many gamblers are like me. But for anyone that is gambling with higher amount of money should make sure they do the assessment.

That's just it, because with the low percentage used for gambling weekly, you can roughly estimate that there isn't anything tangible going into gambling, and at such a, no need for such assessment since you aren't on a bad side of loses.

The problem is totally depending and engaging on heavy financial gambling activities, and before you know it, in few weeks, your total monthly income is gone by gambling. Even though some times we win, I still see any money put into gambling as a wasted money, and thus, wasting money weekly without a track of how much you are spending, subtracting it from your income will really be a problem because you might be spending above your limits.

I heard of a man who takes records of all the airtime he buys to make calls, and at the end of the years, he brings out the record, pouring out all the recharge card papers, and calculating, and people would be surprised to how much he has spent just in a year. Our brains naturally love to remember the massive 100x wins but conveniently "forget" the ten times we reloaded our wallets after a bad run. Keeping a record of all my losses would make me depressed, so I wouldn't do this. I have to disagree that we are making crypto deposits in the casinos "without thinking too much". I definitely think a lot, before depositing crypto in my casino account. Crypto is valuable, it's not some magical imaginary internet money.
I prefer to just stick with making small bets, rather than keeping a record of my bets, but that's just me. You could write down all your bets on a spreadsheet and keep that file in your PC, if you want to. I have doubts that this would somehow limit your spending. You would most likely get bored at some point and stop recording your losses.

If you do then I can assure you that you will quit gambling in no time. The reason for this is very simple because as you progress in keeping your data, during the long run you will see that the losing colon will be much more than the winning one and as such view is in front of you, if you are smart you quit gambling based on such statistics. Very few people are able to achieve this and most of the casinos will not offer this option to the players, of course it is intentional by their side otherwise they risk losing customers.

​I was thinking that this kind of habit would benefit us in several ways. For one, it helps you know if your gambling risk is getting too high, allowing you to pivot or budget a much smaller amount so you don't end up blowing through your hard earned income on casino games.

Absolutely right, and I like the idea of recording all transactions. And I disagree with those who say that online bookmakers and casinos already have all their transactions recorded. Only by recording your deposits can you truly understand how quickly your money is being spent and how accurately it's being done. I'm writing this with understanding, because I record all my income and expenses in the app myself, and this not only gives me peace of mind, but also allows me to know at any given moment how I've responsibly spent my money.

Record keeping for anything that is financially driven is important but if you're trying to track all your gambling expenses, it only means that you're likely using a percentage that's relatively higher than what you can afford to loose. Apart from big players in the gambling industry that mostly use a very big amount to gamble like someone like drake, if what you're gambling with isn't much, there's no point trying to track your looses and gains because you're supposed to be gambling for fun with an amount you can afford to loose.

I hold the thought process that a gambler should gamble once In a while and try as much as he can not to get too involved in the act. That way, you're sure regardless of how long you've been gambling that you're not loosing too much.

Personal, I don't keep records of my gambling dealings either lossing or winning streak since I don't have everytime in doing that, moreover I have always stayed disciplined in my gambling dealings for quite for sometimes now and I have no plans of doing otherwise.

Again, I was just thinking about this whole thing, don't we think that keeping constant records of loses can cause depression, fresh memories of your passed Lost and so on which i believe can cause harm to the person in question. Therefore i don't suggest it's safe especially for those that are quickly emotional, although not everyone is quick emotional just depends on the individual that's involved.

I also have the mindset of seeing every allocation that I put into gambling as a lose for me so I don't bother to track my wins I just try as much as I can to enjoy myself while gambling. Clearly for most of us if we do casual analysis we would find out that our loses are more than winnings. I know that keeping a strict gambling record to track my progress will eventually remove the fun from my gambling so I figured that there's no need for it, what I do is use small amounts that I can comfortably lose to gamble and I don't worry about losing it. The only assessment that I make about gambling is that I always make sure that I never use significant amount to gamble and I shouldn't chase loses.

am just a casual gambler. I don't do the kind of stuff you mentioned seriously. I simply set my own budget, play, and strictly follow the limit I've set. I don't chase losses, and I don't chase big wins. The goal is simple, to make my balance bigger than my initial deposit. But more important than that is to make myself feel happy and entertained. Even when I lose, I see it as the cost of the leisure activity (gambling) that I enjoy.

I have different budget categories, and gambling is part of my entertainment budget. Netflix, in-game purchases, and other things that entertain me all fall into this category. It's easy to start, but it's very difficult to stay consistent and stick to the budget limit. My tip is to track your monthly expenses first before setting your gambling budget. The better you understand your monthly expenses, the better you'll be able to adjust to different situations, especially by knowing your priorities.
