I just looked at the teams and I don't even know up to 3 teams on the list. This os probably why I haven't followed any of the UEFA conference league as most of the teas are usually from lower tier leagues than we are used to seeing at the Europa league. I'll have to confirm if teams that do very well here can get a genuine chance of playin the UCL one day.

That's normal. I fail myself to name more than three of them because teams playing in the First Qualifying Round are quite weak and coming from medium or lower tier leagues.
Just wait for the Second Qualifying Round and you will find recognisable teams like Ludogorets, Gent, Copenhagen, Rapid Wien, Braga, Basaksehir, Panathinaikos...
Obviously teams like Brighton, Getafe, Atalanta, Freiburg, Monaco...are allowed to pass these two Qualifying Rounds because their leagues are in the top tier.

I used to bet on qualifiers with teams that didn't know the reality of losing more than winning, although some people saw this as a disaster for me because teams that didn't know were amateurs.

Is it profitable for you? Honestly I am not tempted by betting in this round, it is better later after the group system has been formed, then I can judge which teams have good chances.

I think it is very important to acknowledge some of the vital achievements of the current Uefa president, Mr Cefrin, for his ideology that brought about the Uefa Conference league and the upgrade of the Uefa Europa league, formerly known as the the Uefa cup which has given so many clubs across Europe the opportunity and platform to also participate at second and third highest level of European football.

Strange to know that you're getting to know about this league for the first time. For the records this the UEFA conference league, the third league in European club competition after the champions League and that of the Europa League. This league was created recently to accommodate teams that miss out on both the champions League and the Europa League making it the third most important club football when it comes to the UEFA competitions. About the clubs if you have been following European club competition you will get to know some of them because it comprises of teams cutting across all European countries most of the teams that play this competition are not that popular. The preliminary round of the qualication is actually on going right now.

The problem with the Conference League is that its value is not just low, but borderline so low that if a team of even a slightly serious level gets into the Conference League, it seems that participation in this league is unprofitable for them. For example, I don't care about the Europa League, but as a bettor, I can bet on some games there because the teams' motivations are clear. But in the Conference League, I can't bet on anyone at all because either I have no idea who the team is, or if I know the team, I think they're trying to lose on purpose, haha.

I totally agree with you and I would add that this less known tournament for many people gave many teams and their players the opportunity to join continental games, to get additional money with every stage they go through, to get the opportunity for another European title.
Teams which are participating in any European competition are accessing to a respectable amount of money that will help them consolidate their teams so they can be more powerful in their leagues and to obtain more experience in this serious competition. It should improve the quality of so many European teams and make them more known internationally. It would also make players around the world more interested in joining them as a first step to play in an European competition.

I think both the Conference league and the Europa League was win by an English Premier League team last season, now that Brighton will need to qualify for the playoff before knowing the group they will belong to, they need all the support they can get to motivate them to come out victorious in their games and as a strong supporter of the English Premier League my support will be for them to qualify so that we will see it they can bring the trophy him as well.

English clubs will once again be favourites to win the European and Conference Leagues and will also be competitive in the Champions League.
Unlike other European leagues where 1 or 2 clubs usually dominate, the English league has more quality teams, the league is more even and all English clubs are always competitive in European football competitions.
As for yesterday's results in the Conference League, there are no major surprises. It has once again been shown that clubs from the former Yugoslavia, with a few exceptions, are not competitive in European club competitions, after the poor results of Sarajevo, Velez, Mornar etc.

Anyways viewing and betting on the team and league can help give it the publicity it desires as a new league that was formed to help smaller teams show their capabilities to the world and if chances be that they could be promoted, it could easily be approved for them as they have proven themselves to worth it by convincing viewers and lover's of the European league globally to placing huge volume of bet on them and all these activities also contributes to their popularity and growth in the league which might be seen as a point or consideration for promotion into the bigger league.

Honestly betting on the first qualifying round is a total lottery if you don't follow lower tier leagues. But I don't think these tiny teams lose on purpose. For a small club from Albania or Malta just getting through one round pays their player salaries for the whole year. That UEFA money is huge for them so the motivation is definitely there.
The real motivation issue happens later when mid table teams from top leagues get in. Like an EPL or Serie A squad having to fly out to the middle of nowhere on a Thursday night right before a massive domestic match. They are the ones who rotate the whole lineup and don't care if they crash out. Right now it is just about figuring out who actually has decent match fitness.

Sevilla for example was a classic team which advances to the final stages and win Europa League but they disappeared for good. Same for Fiorentina. These teams like consistency in their leagues and money is a limiting factor for them. In no way we can compare teams in the other leagues with a team in Premier League. The money gap is huge and that explains why they were dominating everything.

This region in particular is one of the poorest in Europe and the leagues there are like tier D in UEFA Nations League groups. I am not expecting much from them.

The qualifications that just started have been a big disaster for bettors because of lack of adequate data to be able to make informed prediction. Maybe when this qualifications passes, the competition will begin to have shape and easier to predict especially on goals which is one of the highest odd option. There are lots of speculations that English teams are going to dominate it but that is too early to say because the competition is yet to commence.
