I have the same thought as you. In fact, if we assume that Argentina reaches the final and France also reaches the final, Argentina would have a very strong chance of winning the title for a second consecutive time, and what happened in 2022 could happen again at this WC. Unless some of Argentina's key players suffer injuries, which could change this scenario. However, it is hard to imagine an important player like Messi getting injured before such a crucial match.

If both teams really make it to the final, as a spectator, I just hope both teams are at their best. Because that way, we’ll see a truly entertaining match.

Assuming Mbappé plays which I think he does, I'd give the slight advantage to France to win the WC.

In as much as I am in support of your opinion, I would have to say that you can't be so sure about France winning the world Cup simply because Mbappe will be playing alongside his other teammate, and this is because I watch the previous world Cup in 2022 where Argentina and France played the finals for which Argentina ended up beating France in the penalties I think..
Thing to note was that Mbappe played alongside his team mate in that match as well, so why didn't they win the Cup?

From 2022 to this year is 4 years, so I believe there should be some notable improvements in Mbappe performance since he's still young and vibrant, this is the only reason I am betting on France to win the Cup, else I think Argentina has a better chance even though I honestly do not want to see them win the Cup again.

For sure fans also would love to see this happen but we can't predict what will future brings, they still have games to play especially those important game that needs to win to push their way to the finals, and similar to what you said if they can keep their key players that will be nice to watch as both teams will play with very compeititve squad that may bring all the best that they've got for the final match to win this year's world cup.

Judging by Argentina performance in the knockout stages I doubt Argentina can beat England. Argentina in the knockout stages faced only weak opponents and had to fight tooth and nail until extra time. Only against Egypt did they manage to win in regulation time. The other matches against Cape Verde and Switzerland saw them win in extra time. England on the other hand, performed exceptionally well in the knockout stages, defeating Mexico and Norway in regulation time. England also has the same squad depth as Argentina, so it's safe to say Argentina will face a well matched opponent in the semifinals.

This contrasts with France who has been formidable from the start of the tournament. Although Spain also has good depth, the quality of France players is highly favored to reach the final. So my prediction is that the final will be between France and England. I would say that all four teams that have qualified for the semi-finals have  a chance of becoming champions. It is difficult  to give predictions about the semi-finals matches. Bookies consider France and england as favorites. But Argentina and spain are also very strong teams. They also have a chance of qualifying for the final. At least these two teams will meet in this year's World Cup final, and that's quite fitting and would be an ideal final, as Argentina and France have consistently shown their best form, regardless of what happens. But that has to be acknowledged.

I am still saying and I have said before I don't think Argentina will play the final match with France but another team. And if England play the final with France, France will win them. And Argentina has not really played with a strong team in this tournament. And most of the teams were from Africa origin. Also they were lucky to get on the side of the knockout stage draw that gave them the opportunity of not meeting the giants football nations. They'll be finally meeting a big team in the Three Lions and I doubt that they'll get past the semi finals.
For France, I don't see anything stopping them from winning this year's FIFA World Cup. They've bossed every game they've played so far in the competition and should they meet Argentina, I think they'll best them.

I wanted Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo to win this year's World Cup but as they were knocked out by Spain in the round of 16, the team that I want them to win the World Cup is France because they have good team chemistry and good individual players that can beat any team they play against in this World Cup.

Yea, France are a strong team and they have proven that over time. From there play style and aggressiveness, it seems clearly that they are more hungry and really want to win the world cup. They lost at the last world cup against Argentina, and this time, they would love to win. It's okay they win though, I would prefer them instead of Argentina who just won the last one. But for me, it would have been so exciting for me if we see a new winner

With the kind of football Argentina is currently playing, they will not be able to easily pass the semi-finals. The performance of the last two matches has shown that Argentina fought until the last minute of the match because they were under pressure until the last minute. As the last world champion team, they needed to get used to playing pressure-free football in the semi-finals. England is not a weak team, so if they play the entire match under pressure, Argentina is likely to be eliminated from the World Cup. Although they have enough plan unity and enough strength, playing football under pressure is one of the most difficult performances. With the quarter finals kick starting today with France vs Morocco, and other teams to play each day, the 2026 world cup can only get interesting and more excited as the big names begin to play themselves.

If you ask me, I don't want Argentina nor France or even Spain to win this 2026 world cup. Argentina are the defending champions, France won the last edition before Argentina, and also played the finals against Argentina in the last edition. Spain was the winner 2010 I guess so.

I would really love to see a new winner, maybe Morocco, or England, or Norway or Belgium or even Switzerland, but certainly not Messi or Mbappe. Of course it football, I can't actually decide what happens.

This is world cup and it is quite unfortunate that what we want or wish doesn't really matter here because this is survival of the fittest which will also be backed with luck because I have seen a situation where a team that is more stronger and better than the other yet the weaker ones still come out victorious at the end. However, it is also unfortunate that the people you want to win the world cup are already in the semifinals and one or two of them will definitely qualify for finals and may even win.

Majority of user in this thread are picking France to win the world cup, but I see things differently after Argentina's recent matches. They always benefit from the circumstances & of course, the referee.

I know France is the favorite, even with the bookies. But this time, I believe Argentina will take home the world cup trophy for the second time in a row, just like Paris Saint-Germain did in the Champions League.
