OKX sent me an email today which let me know that Nigerians have started using the exchange again, the email is about me to verify some information about which I did. I sent small amount of money there and withdraw it using the p2p and it was all successful.

When they stop Nigerians from using their exchange, Nigeria was no more part of the countries that you can select when you want to verify, you can now select on Nigeria. Also you can not deposit on the exchange because it will not give you any receiving addresses. Also you can not use P2P on the exchange. All are now possible on OKX.

The database was not deleted, they only used the basic verification to verify if it is the person and to let people  know that they are now available in Nigeria again. Also no KYC verification required when I have access to everything on the exchange. Even my bank account which I used in the past is still there. I only did basic verification to have full access on my account on the exchange again.

If Binance come back, it will be good. But CZ said rubbish on X when Trump sent worrying message to Nigeria government about Christian genocide.

It is a good news that OKX is back and according to the op he has used the exchange and has tried their P2P and it is working very well, I am going to try it out one of these days and if it is very good I will be using it.
Talking about binance I think they can start allowing Nigeria to be involved in P2P trading as time goes on, it won't be like this forever so I believe we can start using P2P in binance in the future, it is possible there is nothing impossible as long as it is business.

Is it CZ that you are referring to or Tigran Gambaryan?

Tigran Gambaryan was released with the influence of Biden when he was the United States president. He did not spend a long time after the case got to Biden.

CZ served four months in prison during Biden's time, not during Trump's time. After Binance and CZ paid fines, CZ was told not to be the Binance CEO anymore, probably it was more than that, but Trump granted him pardon to revoke all that.

CZ is no longer the CEO of Binance, but he is the founder. People know CZ than the CEO and the co-CEO of Binance. There was a day I searched for Binance CEO, I saw Richard Teng, but CZ was in the picture. Although, that was search engine error at the time.

This shows that they have already reached a final agreement with the Nigerian government's financial regulatory authorities, if OKX is back, then there is a likely possibility for Binance will be back provided that the rich a consensus.

I think this is coming from the recent development whereby the Nigerian government is trying to have an agreement with two or more exchanges to set up their presence in Nigeria, I guess the government is trying to put more interest in this crypto sector so it will be able to regulate some of their activities and also get some users' information from the exchange that complies with their policy.

I suggest that most of us in Nigeria should continue using previous exchanges and try to be observant or possibly avoid some exchanges that the government has supported to operate in Nigeria legally just of recent, including OKX, the time is coming everyone will just have to depend on the use of decentralized exchange than all these.

Am sure somewhere along the line OKX may decide to request for more verification supposing the number of their Nigerian customers grow and I think this new development that is a good news to many of us, is all because of the recent news in Nigeria that saw some companies granted licenses to operate crypto exchange platforms among which Luno is one of them.

It's good news all the same as it shows growth and promise to the cryptocurrency community in this country.

but let's come to think of this. Who has lost over the years since they disabled their p2p services. I think they have been in the losing side than the users. I don't know clearly how they make there money from the users who use the p2p platform but I know it is not even small money they will be making just by taking their charges or fees off every transaction that's carried out on a daily basis. You know the people will always have their own way of searching for an alternative however inconvenient that may be, which empowers other companies in the system when the main ones are no longer in the business, so the earleir Binance revisit it's p2p services in Nigeria the better it is for them to bolster their revenue stream among Nigerian crypto community.

Don't you think there return to Nigeria can be suspicious? They must have agreed with the Nigerian government to submit our data to them whenever the Nigerian government asked for Nigerians users data.

Should old and new users rush to maintain and create a new account there? Maybe we should take things lowly and see feedbacks from people that have gotten their accounts back. I don't trust the Nigerian government about users' data safety.
There coming back may have a lot of differences to work with the law enforcement directly, sending the information of traders that are often trading with huge amounts of money.

The EFCC has been known to have corrupt officials which can be a wind of lottery for them, getting access to innocent traders data and tracking their location easily without using too many sophisticated tools. I have neighbors that have been victims of the EFCC attacks.
Binace is a more reputable exchange to what OKX may be trying to offers to Nigerians. We need to watch our guard!

Good to know they're fully back now, we need more competitions among exchange platforms so that some of them will stop misbehaving and imposing high transactions fees. We also do hope that Binance reconsider their service to Nigerians again by resolving all outstanding issues with FG because despite that their p2p has not been functional for Nigerians but if they return most of us might run back to them because they still remain the best exchange platform.

Alright then, I think I will give it a go and drop feedback for some persons that haven't been able to recover or fall under same category as me.

Am curious to so many things too, like the p2p set up and how will the price range fall under and also will be it more regulated now since they have come to terms with the Nigerian market and the terms that made them leave the space in the first place .

That’s the consequence of using centralized exchanges, your data is theirs and they can give it to the authorities/government if need be. But wetin you go fit do as a trader, options no too plenty if you try to use decentralized exchanges you no go see who go trade with you.

This is good news. Who knows how they handled the legal challenges before they were able to get back to the Nigerian market? They will never have their domain lifted from the list of exchanges which can’t be accessed through the web freely, as the country still blocks access to most of these exchanges.

That’s a large percentage of the entire company's share; he might not be calling short in the company due to legal issues, but his influence is still great in the exchange and BNB at large, and a decision can’t entirely be made without seeking his opinion.

Still using Binance till date lol.. I’m only concerned on not igniting any issue with the account because they don’t offer any service to Nigerians.
Bybit issue is only because they are not making their rules firm.. Scam is everywhere though, I’m sure when Binance returns , they will also face the same issue of scammers using their p2p service to scam, it could just be less.

That’s how they should operate normally, it’s called centralized for a reason .. what you mentioned is part of the reason they request your KYC in the first place.

It is a centralized exchange that requires KYC, what do you expect? Did you think Bybit, Bitget and other exchanges that you are using that require KYC will not do the same? They can all do the same. If you want to have privacy, use exchanges that do not require KYC, but it will be better if it is decentralized so that you will not be forced to get verified. Since I have known about cryptocurrencies, I noticed that Nigerians do not like decentralized exchanges and non KYC naira P2P exchanges because I rarely see Nigerians there.
