Why Bitcoin Should Be Considered Safe Investment, And Not High Risk Investment

Bitcoin is a safe investment, and not a high risk investment. The reason is because, Bitcoin has a long term track record of rewarding investors, and has been in the digital market close to 17 years now since 2009. Bitcoin does not have the characteristics of a high risk investment, and bitcoin volatility is for the betterment of the bitcoin investors who are patient enough to take reward on the long run.

Here are some of the characteristics of a high risk investment.

Uncertainty is one of the characteristics of a high risk investment, but bitcoin has has long term track record of rewarding investors since it was created by Satoshi Nakamoto, and has not failed till date.

Another characteristic of high risk investment is low track record, but in the case of bitcoin, it is a different case, because bitcoin has been proven a safe investment because of it's long term track record for almost 17 years now.

Another characteristic of a high risk investment is incurring total loss, unlike investing in altcoins, trading, and investing your money in Ponzi schemes, it is absolutely very difficult to incure total loss in bitcoin if you understand the principles of bitcoin investing, and how it works.
If you invest in Bitcoin with long term investment strategy, and your wallet is not compromised, making profit from your bitcoin investing is guaranteed. But you can incure total loss investing in altcoins, ponzi schemes, and trading.

But in the case of bitcoin, volatility is what makes bitcoin investing very interesting, because when price of bitcoin goes up, profit is made, and when price of bitcoin goes down is another opportunity to buy more, and one thing that is very interesting about bitcoin is that , when the price of bitcoin goes down, it also has the ability to recover, and make good profit on the long run, but in the case of altcoin for example, recovery is uncertain when the price goes down, and that is exactly how people who invest in altcoins incure total loss.

Bitcoin is very volatile and that makes it a high risk investment, it's barely a matter of how long bitcoin has survived the market just from last year till date, butcoin got to it's all time high and today it is somewhat close to half of that ATH value and you call that safe investment? I mean what else do you need to see that bitcoin is a high risk asset, or maybe if you had started your investment during the ATH and you're currently seeing the total amount halved you might understand better that bitcoin is a high volatility asset.
Basically once an asset is considered a currency as well you should be expecting a high volatility due to the traded volume.

The fact that it is close to 17 years of existence and has proven to be rewarding and has increased significantly over the years doesn’t make it a safe investment. You need to understand that what is referred to as a “safe investment” doesn’t necessarily reward the investor (in most cases) and it is not volatile but bitcoin is still very volatile and unpredictable, I can agree with you if you said it isn’t “high risk” rather it is a “medium risk” investment but not when you call it a “safe investment”

Context matters a lot, in some context Bitcoin can be referred to as a Safe investment while in others it isn’t and in the broader sense, you can consider Bitcoin a “safe investment” just by these justication of yours.

An asset that can lose half its value in a couple of months is the absolute definition of high risk, no matter how much you believe in it.  Imagine you were a normal retail investor who bought bitcoin at the absolute peak of a bull market and it was your first encounter with crypto investing.  How would you feel now?  Of course, we all "know" that the bull market will come back again.  But what if it doesnt?  

Bitcoin is a great asset, yes, but lets not pretend its a safe haven.  Because its not.

And many people are still out there making good money in altcoins though, and this money they are making from altcoin, they are using the profit to buy bitcoin and hold as a long term investment, that is wisdom, don't completely ignore altcoins, if you know your way around the market, there is a huge opportunity in the altcoin market to make good money.

And speaking of bitcoin now, yes, bitcoin is always safe to invest in, more safe than investing in altcoins, but also it will depend on what your investment plan is, we can't say that investing in bitcoin is completely free from risk, no, there is still a major risk involved in bitcoin investment most especially if you are investing for short term profit, and doing so during a bear season, you will discover that you need to be lucky to win, else, you might end up incurring losses in your investment except you decide to wait longer for the price to recover back to the top where you bought.

Every investment carried various degree of risk, and the best way to profit is to study the market well and know when to buy, and then be patient enough to wait.

For people wey see bitcoin investment as risk not safe na them know because for me e safe, I never come across any investment wey be like Bitcoin since I don dey invest, because no matter how the market take go down when e go rise up na you go dey surprise and even, bitcoin investment get plenty benefit but the problem be sey we nor dey patient at all we need quick money, we sef we know sey. we nor fit compare am to any other investment for life no matter the risk wey dey inside. 6

Bro, all of this still does not make Bitcoin a low risk asset..  Bitcoin is a high risk asset, and it will always be one… One of the biggest reason is it is volatility.. You can not ignore an asset that can lose 20–70% of its value within a short period and call it low risk, regardless of how many times it has recovered…

Forget how long Bitcoin has existed or how well it has performed for years.. A long track record does not automatically remove risk.. It just give investors more confidence in its long term potential..

This your reason Op to isn't enough for you to say that bitcoin isn't a high risk investment. Bitcoin is volatile in nature and the risk of an investor losing all what they invested in bitcoin within a second is there. So don't allow yourself to be carried away or into thinking that bitcoin is less risky to avoid making mistakes.
Bitcoin is nothing like Ponzi scheme but this doesn't mean we should rate it as an investment without risk , bitcoin isn't a risk free or isn't a low risk asset. Anyone that throughly understand bitcoin won't say that it has less risky.
The mindset that profit can be made whenever the price of bitcoin is high is even what will make bitcoin to be more risky because you can predict or outsmart the market, if the market moves against you , then you may end up in loss.
