If I’m not mistaking the whole content is mainly about small and big business, don’t seem to understand why anyone will think starting a small business is more risky than big ones. Firstly both can be considered risky, it’s always the capital that determines if the business is big or not so basically it doesn’t matter the exact type of business, not all small business are destined to grow sorry to say but this is fact, at the point when businesses face some kind of fall out it’s all linked to the level of risk carried out like I said it doesn’t necessary have to be big or small but, big business start with large capital and imagine a fall out definitely anyone in this position will feel more hurt compared to someone who started with little capital.
Both do indeed carry the same risk of failure. It’s just that, as you mentioned, if you start a large business and it fails, you’ll suffer greater losses, and yes, that will be more painful. And actually, the same goes for a small business if it doesn’t succeed, you’ll still suffer losses. It’s just that because the amount of capital is small, the pain of failure won’t be as severe as it would be in a business with a large capital investment.

But in my opinion, all of that also depends on a person’s level of preparation, their knowledge, experience, strategy, or plan. when they’re about to start a business. For those who are truly like a blank slate meaning they have no experience, it’s extremely risky for them, even just to start a small business. That’s why we often see people trying to gain experience first by working at a company that can provide that experience, so they’ll be ready to open a similar business later on. Once they begin to understand everything, only then can they start a small business. In situations like this, I believe starting a business should be tailored to the capital you have available. Don’t take out a large loan just to satisfy the desire to immediately launch a big business.

This is different from Binance’s founder, CZ. who immediately launched a large business because he had already mastered the field. As a result, the risks he took were well worth it.

[edited out]

Take Changpeng Zhao, for example, who immediately launched a major business the large cryptocurrency exchange Binance. However, he was able to do so because he was already prepared for that level of operation. Previously, he had worked at a major exchange as CTO at OKCoin (now OKX). As a result, he achieved tremendous success; in fact, Binance has now surpassed OKX in popularity, user base, and trading volume.

This example illustrates how someone runs a large business with high risks, backed by capital that won’t cause them to panic if things don’t go as expected. The person profiled here is not an ordinary individual, but rather a businessperson who has already made a name for themselves in the business world.
In addition to substantial capital, a strong reputation is also a valuable asset to cultivate.
The inspiring stories of successful entrepreneurs can serve as motivation for beginners who haven’t yet established a strong reputation.

So two businesses starting at the same time, one is a small business while the other one is a big business. Since the larger business has more capital from the beginning it can attract more customers through massive promotions, better system and better management. Meanwhile, the small business has to work with limited capital and hope its products or services can attract customers on their own.

If the big business fails the owner usually has to bear a much heavier financial burden because of the large capital used in the first place. Meanwhile the impact of a small business failing is less severe. That's why many people choose to start with a small business as the potential losses are more manageable if things don't go as planned but we may see small business open and close in short of time and thinking it's riskier than the big one.

If a large business fail, its owners often have to bear a greater financial burden. But it should be noted that the failure rate of large businesses is lower than that of small businesses. Because they have greater resources, more specialized team and better risk management system.

Starting a business on largescale also offers many advantages. That is why people with substantial capital, or those who can raise capital often do not start small. People who start small do not necessarily do so because they want to reduce risk. In many case, they simply lack the capital or resources to start bigger.

I agree, they've got people who've got enough experience to make the business even more profitable and keep on going. The newer ones, and those with sole proprietors in it have to test a lot of strategies before getting to the point of being able to determine what the working formula is for the business they have started. So, with the large corporations or businesses who's got resources and experienced people, they're unlikely to fail. They've got consultants, mentors, analysts and everything just to make the business foolproof.

A business of every kind is a risk, and according to what a friend of mine said, " A business man must always be ready to lose money" this doesn't necessarily mean that the business would fail or you would lose it is just a mindset to have so you don't get too disappointed when it doesn't go according to your plan. When starting up a small business this isn't going to require much capital so it is right to say that it is less Risker than starting a big one. Starting a big business involves a lot of money and this could affect you more if it goes wrong.

Not Really, since it doesn't really require much capital to start up compared to starting up a Big one, if much risk isn't really taken then it is much safer. If you end up losing money or the business doesn't go as planned you can easily readjust and move on From the losses incurred just in case things doesn't go as planned but when starting a big business it might take a lot of money from you and if you don't have a constant income you should not think about it.

Apart from the small money invested in small business, it serves as a lesson ground for all and will even help in building once financial strength as if one can manage small capitals it can be easy to manage bigger once. To me i think starting small is the best approach in business development because it will help develop a good management skills that plays a vital role even when big capital is invested in same business.

If you can manage a small business, it doesn't mean you can also manage a large one or that it will be easy.

As a business grow, its structure and challenges change as well. Managing human resources, finances and risk become much more complex in large businesses. That's why many small businesses perform well but struggle or even fail when they try to expand.

Starting small or large depends on your experience, initial capital...Starting small is not always the best option.

I think people are underestimating large businesses by comparing them with small businesses.

People often forget that those who are capable of starting large businesses are certainly not ignorant or unaware of what they are doing. They would not be foolish enough to pour tons of money into a business and let it fail easily like many small businesses.

People who start large businesses do not do it simply because they have money. They have usually made proper preparations to develop and grow their businesses. Unlike many other small businesses, which often lack capital or are just testing their ideas.

Both small and big businesses are risky, but a small business may appear riskier because any little mistake might ruin the whole game then while a little mistake in a big business may significantly pose little crash that could be recovered in a few weeks or months. Then again both small and big businesses requires ones ability to manage the risk effectively and become more productively inclined.People start a business from the scratch and because they’re productively inclined the business will grow to a big one. Then again consistently is the key in every endeavors including our financial goals, how consistent and dedicated are you to your source of livelihood is a question that needs to be answered by those entrepreneurs that seek to manage a business for the long term.

There are people who inherit business from there ancestors or have relatives who already have well settled business. Such people have the liberty to start a business with huge money because they have people around who can guide them how to run the business. Meanwhile those who don't have people around who can guide them in business or they don't have experience of doing business. Such people must not take risk of starting a business with huge money. They must learn doing business first and then increase the capital.

Starting a big business is much riskier than a small business. Because the investment in a big business is much bigger and the investment in a small business is small. Although the opportunity to profit from a big business is much bigger, the risk is also much bigger when considering the risk. And a small business can be started at any time and a lot of experience can be gained from there, which can be useful later in starting a big business, but a big business cannot be started at any time. It requires a long experience to start, otherwise the risk will increase even more. So no logic can ever make it credible that the risk of a big business is less than that of a small business.

If you are starting a business, whether it is small or big, there are both profits and losses, and losses should be considered first so that the capital invested in the business is not wasted. This is the difference between small and big businesses. If the losses in a small business are not corrected quickly, the entire capital and business can be ruined because it is started with little money and a small business does not have the capacity to bear much loss, while a large business has the capacity for small losses and over time this loss is also corrected and a large business is more useful and strong. But if you are not experienced, you should start with a small business and gradually achieve success, so that in a hurry the entire business cannot be destroyed.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is enjoying FIFA haha. Well, guys, I heard a businessman make a claim that caught me off guard: "Small businesses are riskier while starting a big business is not that risky". Initially, I was confused because how is that possible? Because if we do not have enough resources to go big in the first place, then we have to start small, right, but if starting small is risky, then what?

How is starting big not risky? I am going to give my explanation and you guys can give yours. We are here to brainstorm this idea to see what is what.

So my explanation is, when we start a small business, we give it our full potential, time, and money. We do not care about anything else. We do not take any leave. We do not go on trips. We just do our business with full dedication. If we get sick and get a disease that we can't do the business anymore, we might have to shut it down. But big businesses do not work like that. You have teams who work for you and manage things for you. They do all the work, and even if you want to go on trips or do something you want for a week or a month, your business will go on and it will never stop.

This is what I understand from the words of that businessman. and I don't have any other explanation for this. If you have any, then please share it here. Yeah I know about funding issues, credit issues etc. but still want to hear what else he could have mean? Have you hear anything like this before.

That's a properly strange question on many levels.I think you've maybe misunderstood the background going on here and the type of person who is making a comment like that. There's a few angles you can look at: if you're starting a small business like a barber's, it will likely be vulnerable to competition in the immediate vicinity and also things like failing to bring in enough customers to cover the basic bills plus your wages. Where a big business, as long as it has reasonable margins, is likely to have less competition and should really have a unique selling point, even if it's just the brand name representing quality or coolness. It's not easy to just dive into setting up a big business, it requires quite a bit of experience or at the very least considerable start up funds. Especially because a bank is not going to give away a lot of money without a track record of success or collateral.

One thing I will like you to know is that no successful business started Big, You must surely start small and gradually expand. If you start small and eventually become big, you can be able to manage it properly and know where error is coming from and you can correct it. But when you start big and don't know the secret of that business, no matter the number of workers you have there, it may still fall to zero due to mismanagement. As a matter of fact when you start big and employ people to help you run the business, you will totally depend on them and May not be able to understand the business fully. and they can capitalize on your ignorant and drain your business and it goes bankrupt. If you walk around the streek today, you will see big shops that where once the talk of the Town, has now has become a laughing stuck because of starting big with a good managerial skill.

And why big business is riskier is that when you lose money you lose big, but when you lose small money used in setting up a small business and it lose, it will not affect you like the big one.

From my own experiences doing export business and then widening to freight forwarder business, as an owner we should understand all process until the detailed small thing and make a clear standard operational procedure, we need it in case there are any trouble or problem happened when we delegate to our employee, we can unravel the tangled threads and find a solution. Beside that we must mastering at least study and learn about symptoms of fraud, so we can detect it early in case it happen in our business. Even we delegate work to other but we must ensure we can closely monitoring our business to avoid any loss. For profit and loss calculation depend on our self,  how dare we take risks , every businessman has different style and different level of experiences. What every businessman should take a note, small mistake big money, big mistake more money.

From other experiences, what actually make businessman stressed facing lost, they don't have proper financial planning, they use daily needed saving or emergency fund and protection fund for business or investment, so when business in trouble or collaps they face difficulties in daily live.

You can open a big business and take advantage of government subsidies. By controlling the majority of the market, you can generate higher profits. Most small businesses are going under these days. Of course before anything else you need to have connections who can help you secure these subsidies. In other words if you have connections in key government positions and are willing to give them their cut, you have a good chance of growing very quickly. If you don't have those connections, opening any kind of business is extremely risky. Any money you might make, even a small amount, will go toward taxes and fines. Entrepreneurship is practically nonexistent in this country. Everything depends on political connections.

Starting up a big business is actually more riskier because it requires you to spend more money which means that if anything goes wrong you are going to incur lots of losses. Although a small business and a big one has their own risks but a small business doesn't really take that much from you, so even though it ends up crashing this isn't something that's going to affect you because you didn't really spend that much on it. But one thing you should know is that it's rare to find people that just started out a big business, most people usually start small and grow gradually.

The best way to start a business is by starting small, with time you can start increasing your capital that is when you must have gain enough experience. Because beginners are prone to making mistake during Thier early stage because they lack experience, that is why they need to start small, it is just like experiment to see if it would work before going big. I believe majority of those that owns a big business today started small they didn't start big, not until they gained enough experience, then they start increasing Thier capital. I know everyone must not go with the same approach but starting small is much more safer than starting big because it minimize the risk of losing all.

For someone who is a complete beginner. that is, with no prior business experience starting with a small business is indeed the most recommended approach. This is because they still need to learn gradually while building their business from the ground up. However, the situation is different if the person starting the business is highly experienced and already has considerable knowledge in the field they’re entering.

Also there is a good point to emphasize that he raised the capital with BNB, he sold that token, and yes he did great marketing, but he gained a ton of money to build Binance based on selling those tokens.

He was capable of hiring engineers, pentesters, and many more, all by making sure that he is able to pay that by offering a lot of money to the best people all thanks to being able to sell BNB via their ICO back in the day. That is the most important part we need to focus on.
