What if the capital you started with is your home and abroad? Like your all and all? What would you do or how would you feel if it goes the other way? This is something that we all need to be careful because even if we say starting small won't put us in a risky shape we still need to be careful about the kind of business we do and we must understand it and also how to run if because if we lose that little amount we started with it will cost us heavily. People that are desperate are the type that always go for higher capital to cash out big but they forget that in everything we do we have to start small, that is why they said slow and steady wins the race but people don't understand that, they feel is when you do it faster that is when you would see the profit more than those who start small.
Every amount of money is very important, and whether the money is small or not, it is still a risk to invest in a business. Just because the small amount you have is the only money you have on you shouldn't stop you from pursuing the business you have in mind. Choosing not to spend your money on a business because it is the only amount you have is also a risk. If you have a small amount of money and it is the only money you have for business, before going into any business, you need to understand the business and ensure that the chances of succeeding in that business are high. It makes no sense to start small and invest in a business of which you have no understanding; investing blindly is a big risk. In a financial condition like this, risks have to be calculated, and you should not invest blindly in a business that you are not very sure about the outcome of.

Is true, you see, so many people invest in business with bigger amount of money just because they have seen other people succeeding in that kind of business that they do not understand, instead of them to gain profits like others they only loss much money and some blame it on bad luck or evil eyes but they forget that they don't have any idea of controlling that business, desperation to make it big is another thing that lead people to invest wrongly. And this investing with small money or big money is a risk but ones you have that understanding of that business that fear of losing won't be their, some people use small money and still gain nothing because they are not the only person attending to their business like I said before.

Everyone isn’t going to agree with that business man, however this business man that you’re talking about it might be that he has failed with a small business and become successful with a bigger business, what I understand is that he is speaking from his experience, and some other persons experience might actually be different, there are people who have been successful with a small business, because they started small and along the line the business have grown big for them, so this people would always give you a different perspective and opinion, there are also people who have started bigger businesses and still failed.

My own point of view is that you start a business according to what capital that you have available to start a business with, I don’t think it matters if you start a smaller business or a bigger business, what matters is how you’re able to handle and manage the business, any business can be successful depending on your abilities to manage a business.

However the business man reasons for making that statement isn’t justifiable.

You can't handle a big business when you have not successfully managed a small business, do I don't agree with the idea of this man in the story. The beginning of a thing whether small or big is the most important aspect of such a thing, if you fail in the beginning then that thing will collapse. If you don't have the right managerially qualities then no matter how big or small the business that will be given to you you will mess things up so in my opinion stating a new and small business is more riskier than a big one.

Starting up a big business is actually more riskier because it requires you to spend more money which means that if anything goes wrong you are going to incur lots of losses. Although a small business and a big one has their own risks but a small business doesn't really take that much from you, so even though it ends up crashing this isn't something that's going to affect you because you didn't really spend that much on it. But one thing you should know is that it's rare to find people that just started out a big business, most people usually start small and grow gradually.
Basically, just like the law a bigger thing has a bigger risk and both have their own characteristics with the basic risk of big business having a Nominal potential for very large losses (billions) because obviously with the capital used Of course and the chances of bankruptcy tend to be lower.
With the basic risk of small business has a nominal potential loss is relatively small (millions) because the capital allocated is certainly likely to be small but with a larger bankruptcy peleuang, so both of these have positive and negative sides of each but clearly we should have done the best for the business that started whether it's big or small.
But of course starting small is a good idea because this will give its own lessons.

Every thing we do in life has a beginning, that is, we cannot have a perfect plan or experience before starting any work. Somewhere or the other we make mistakes and we learn from those mistakes. So when I start a business, I certainly did not gain experience in business before starting. Experience will come only when I can start the business. So after starting the business, mistakes will be normal and by learning from the mistakes, we will try to improve our plan. If someone starts a business, no matter how good the plan is, we are not sure that we will be able to do well later. So we can start with a small amount and test ourselves. And only after starting, we will be able to catch small mistakes and later when we grow our business, those mistakes will not get a chance to be repeated.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is enjoying FIFA haha. Well, guys, I heard a businessman make a claim that caught me off guard: "Small businesses are riskier while starting a big business is not that risky". Initially, I was confused because how is that possible? Because if we do not have enough resources to go big in the first place, then we have to start small, right, but if starting small is risky, then what?

How is starting big not risky? I am going to give my explanation and you guys can give yours. We are here to brainstorm this idea to see what is what.

So my explanation is, when we start a small business, we give it our full potential, time, and money. We do not care about anything else. We do not take any leave. We do not go on trips. We just do our business with full dedication. If we get sick and get a disease that we can't do the business anymore, we might have to shut it down. But big businesses do not work like that. You have teams who work for you and manage things for you. They do all the work, and even if you want to go on trips or do something you want for a week or a month, your business will go on and it will never stop.

This is what I understand from the words of that businessman. and I don't have any other explanation for this. If you have any, then please share it here. Yeah I know about funding issues, credit issues etc. but still want to hear what else he could have mean? Have you hear anything like this before.

There is some truth to these words, even though it may seem illogical. I’ll start with an illogical assumption:
- Small businesses involve small amounts of money, and the collapse of such a business won’t lead to global problems.
- Large businesses involve huge amounts of money and a large number of people; their collapse would have very negative consequences for the economy.

Now for the reality:
- To start a small business, people may take out loans secured by their property, or even sell their apartment or car, to get the business off the ground. If the business fails, people are left with nothing and, as a rule, still in debt.
- For large businesses, the government often finds ways to provide relief,  tax breaks, low-interest loans, financial support, and so on.

A business of every kind is a risk, and according to what a friend of mine said, " A business man must always be ready to lose money" this doesn't necessarily mean that the business would fail or you would lose it is just a mindset to have so you don't get too disappointed when it doesn't go according to your plan. When starting up a small business this isn't going to require much capital so it is right to say that it is less Risker than starting a big one. Starting a big business involves a lot of money and this could affect you more if it goes wrong.
Imagine a situation where a business is based on borrowed money. It's an incredible risk. And I know people who took it, desperately wanting to start their own business. If anything goes wrong, that's it... They'll have to not only say goodbye to the business, but also somehow pay off the borrowed funds. In my country, this is becoming more and more common. As soon as the economy faltered due to sanctions, even large companies couldn't survive the situation. They went bankrupt.

From my personal perspective, starting a big business is riskier than building a small one, although both are actually risky in nature.
I  agree because Subjectively speaking, big businesses are more riskier than small ones.

lets keep in mind that when starting a small business is most times involved one individual, little capital, knowledge, time, resources and what have you. But in big businesses it usually requires putting up a team or group of person to work in accordance to plan in order to get the business running these people are most times recruited with promise of wages which will be paid by the owner of the business. in cases where this business fails the owner would not only have lost its capital used to fund the business but all the funds used in acquiring manpower for the business while in a small business it is most likely that the business would have lost just it's capital. both business would gain knowledge and experience that will help them when they choose to try again in the business market though.

As much as starting both big and small businesses is riskier, Loosing 100$ cannot be compared to loosing 10k$

Not really, it doesn't take much to start a small business so I would not really say that it's more riskier than starting up a big one but most businesses we see today didn't just start from the top, they actually started small and gradually got bigger as time went on. Every business has their own risks and as someone that is getting into business you must be always be ready to take risks.
