I think it's time people start getting serious especially new people who are getting into Bitcoin, anyone with good knowledge of Bitcoin should already know this but those who are coming into Bitcoin because they think that anonymity and privacy can save them from the law needs to have a rethink.

I saw an Instagram post where a certain scammer who claimed to be what he isn't defrauded a woman over almost $3 million dollars and was later caught in his country home, the story wasn't too surprising because scam is everywhere all over the world but what surprised me was the comment section, people where commenting that he should have used Bitcoin some that doesn't even have the basic knowledge about how Bitcoin works were commenting in ignorance that he should have used Bitcoin. There is a big danger to such comment because it will cause an even bigger rise of scammers in the Bitcoin space who are looking for that false safety cover from the law.

The blockchain space is transparent, people can see the inflow and out flow of your funds, and also exchanges and their kyc requirements can also expose you to the law as well, you might believe that using mixer will exonerate you from the crie but the bigger the funds you stole can require the law to take even more extreme measures to get you, lots of privacy protocols ( from the email companies you used or even the mixer companies used) could be broken just to get you. Have people made way with Bitcoin stolen funds while that might be true but many of them are still being pursed till date and there is still a likelihood of being caught.

People are so Ignorant, money that he laundered in fiat should be passed through bitcoin for anonymity. Your observations are valid. People assume that the reason why scammers are caught was because they were not smart. But they fail to know that the goverment has the financial, material, and human resources that could be used to fight crime.

There have been developments of advanced blockchain analytics software, heuristic clustering, and taint analysis that could be used to trace and apprehend crypto scammers. Investigators can de-anonymize wallet clusters, so scammers should not think they are smarter.

That is true, Bitcoin can't and will never be a shade for any form of dirty shit, having such ridiculous mindset about Bitcoin is a joke because you may just be trapped down in no time.

Even people who steals cash are still also been caught after a while, and then talk more of a digital currency whose transactions are transparent like Bitcoin. Because if it was back then in 2019 to 2022 that people made such comments on social media, it would have been a bit understandable, unlike now that most privacy industries and mixers were attacked by the US government and now the privacy measures have been reduced. Because though it's true that Bitcoin is anonymous, which means it's hard to know who owns the Bitcoin in a particular address in a non custodial wallets, but the moment the Bitcoin is been transferred to a centralized exchange which has a KYC enabled, the identity of the person is being revealed, unless if the person trade it with physical cash in the black market. But such is still not always guaranteed, as you can even be robbed by trying to trade a stolen Bitcoin. So I think it's high time we start sensitizing people that Bitcoin was never meant to be a tool for committing crime.

Scammers are being caught everywhere in the world not minding the tool use as a matter of fact it must not be money related. Another thing I find funny most times about all these scammers who choose Bitcoin as their payment method, is their willingness to give out their Bitcoin address to their fellow scammers for payout from their clients. They don't know what they are into.
