That's one of the forum's "light mode" features that has been around for a long time (even since I joined), ;wap2 is another one.
Regarding Google results, I think it analyzes your conditions before returning search results. For example, your connection speed, browser version, or cache. Try using incognito mode and see what happens.

I guess it was intended for easier mobile browsing back in the day before these newer operating systems like Android were a thing (remember those old Nokias and Sony Ericssons?). So for some reason, Google also indexes the WAP versions of pages that you end up visiting once in a while in the search results.

You can have three modes for mobile, and wap is one of the three modes.

Two other modes for mobile are

The ;wap part of the URL is a legacy parameter that allows you to view a page on the mobile version. Years ago, this was very useful for older phones with limited browsers and slow internet connections. It only allowed users to view the page to read posts so users couldn't use it to write post.
Then the new version came Which is ;wap2 that allowed user to create posts although it wasn't as good as on a PC it was still a useful feature for those who used phones.
