You mean Follow users on Bitcointalk.org (posts and/or topics). I haven't used it in years, but it should still work.

There is no inbuilt settings like you mentioned but you can definitely get notifications using an external tool which is a telegram bot - @BTTSuperNotifier_bot
set your username and uid> /menu> notify me about > post by users> add new> set username (the use you want to track)

You can use the telegram notifier just like someone mentioned below most people actually suggest it on the go because it is fast and not just that it seems to be the most used notifier across the forum. That aside the forum Also has a notifier bot for simple X  you can use that instead of you care more about privacy.

Only thing you might find as an issue is back when I used the simple X version I only got notifications when I left the app open on the background.

I think I have come across same name configuration over time in this forum, but it really doesn’t mean anything, if someone who have same name configuration wants to create an alt, he wouldn’t  have to create the same username, I don’t really see a hidden intention, I just see someone that is trying to ask a question to try and understand something.

I didn’t miss that, the most important should be, if he has gotten the solution to what he is trying to enquire about, and why he created this thread.

Thats a good reminder, and perhaps, most of the problem that keeps repeating and it's just too bad. So many users ask questions and fail to go read or go through the replies offered as help from more experienced users in the forum. I think if he reads through, and understands the set up process, he would just be okay gets exactly what he wants. The Bitcoin SuperNotifier, the telegram Not is just perfect

I was surprised that as old as ABCbits, he's asking how to track posts.

I don't know why Op chose such similar username. Although it could also be an innocent coincidence. Maybe he added one more s when he was told the username already exists.

Is this the first time you're seeing something like this?

This is even better because ABCbits has first three letters in upper case and Op has just the first letter in upper case followed by the lower case and that make a clear difference. I believe it is still a form of impersonation but the forum has probably no such rules against creating very similar names.

Its  funny that OP has been avoiding the question "why", which shows it's  a deliberate action and not that it's  a random coincidence.

No one can tell  their intentions but with that name it could be easier to deceive people unless they check profile, how about Guests who don't have any account . Let's assume he just redirect them to his profile from an external conversation, they won't even see any trust section on profile.
