Buying/selling crypto privately: What's your strategy?

I use both face to face and DEX to sell my bitcoin. Face to face is only to those people that I know very well like my friends and family members. I am introducing close people around me to bitcoin and whenever, they want to buy, they prefer buying from me directly.

I would say I would avoid face to face even with known people, no need for that. I think it is quite important to realize that if we had some bitcoins and want to sell, just do it legally. If you want to not do it legally then there are questions about why? And I would not help that person.

If anyone asks me how they can turn their bitcoins into cash (or their cash into bitcoin) and they want to do it privately without being tracked, then I would not advise them anything, they are after something shady for sure.

That private tx only good when you're transacting crypto, but it's damn so bad when you're often withdrawing your crypto into fiat. For me, using bridge is already enough. I don't need to buy and sell privately coz it's increasing the risk of my accounts to be blacklisted or banned.

I often interacted with the exchange sites for the fiat withdrawal purpose, and this can be done only through cex. Interacting with p2p and private protocol increase chance my account to face the risk control. I've seen so many people got banned or blacklisted due to this.

So i don't wanna be fully private.

Its questionable on why those people don't want to do it on legal way, since we have many legitimate ways on how to buy and sell our crypto's.

That's why same as you, I also don't like to do buy or even sell physically even if we know or that people is known for personal security reasons. Yeah for sure there are shady stuffs happening and its hard to get involve with that type of deal they made.

So usually I turn it down and will just buy or do sell my crypto on exchange.

I usually use P2P trading platforms for trading crypto when I'm buying or selling. It's easier and safer. As long as you're security conscious, you will almost never be scammed or get into trouble.
It's simple. Confirm payment, release coins, or, if you are buying, send payment and receive coins.
I also use swap systems when I want to buy sometimes, but it's been a while since I used them.

Most of my P2p trades happen on Telegram, and numerous others in open places; restaurants, bars, when selling or buying from a buddy, unfortunately the rates are usually not as beneficial as the rates p2p traders offer in centralized exchanges.

Have never used Bisq I don't know its mechanism how --- what I do to sell/buy crypto is now quite easy no need on exchanges, there are many instant exchanges available now have good reputation then there I often sell BTC or other coins.

The number of traders from my region using Bisq is very little, and it produces very few NGN liquidity to allow the trades. The problem is that many traders are not worried about giving out kyc to exchanges, that is why CEX is mostly in use.

I do not approve buying or selling of crypto by face to face with strangers, it has to be someone really close unless not.

Even with people we no could be risky at times to deal F2F with because you might not guarantee your safety and we have heard in news how friends betray each other's because of money so actually with money that I no i could exchange elsewhere easy without meeting someone face to face I prefer to use it than taking any risk. So with centralized exchange you will not have to be worried about your safety in the hands of the merchant because everything is done online so actually P2P has been the one that's more pleasing to me than any other method most people usually use. .

You can't even trust F2F these days. Because even your closest friends and family can betray you. For instance, the government can pay one of your friends to expose your crypto activities. Especially if we're talking about authoritarian countries where crypto is "illegal".

The only trustless and censorship-resistant way to buy/sell crypto would be through a DEX. A truly-decentralized one, because there are so many DEXs which aren't as decentralized as they claim to be. I hope that the small few we have left, never get compromised. By combining privacy coins with DEXs, nothing can stop the revolution. I sure hope so...

I think that overall P2P is a safer alternative than in person trading particularly with someone that you haven't met in person. There is always some risk involved in any F2F trading, and, as in many other areas, there were cases when users of f2f trading service were the victim of the misusing of their trust due to the amount of money involved. A P2P platform that is reputable will offer you a record of the transaction. Protection of the escrow and a way to dispute in case of misfortune. Whatever method is employed. It is most important to double check payments. And to do so with the utmost concern for personal safety. While convenience is one thing. Security is another, and when it comes to crypto purchases and sales. Security should be the top priority.

A lot of people here are objecting the F2F form buy and selling of bitcoin due to the risk involved.  I agree that it can actually  be risky most especially if you’re dealing with someone you have no idea whom he or she is.  but what is funny is that those same people goes to the bank to withdraw fiat F2F and don’t get scared of the risk involved. As for me I do the F2F, p2p and also the DEX, it all depends on Which I choose to use but most often I buy my bitcoin via P2P platform on the CEX you can tag me as someone who careless about privacy I don’t mind actually it just the fastest for me.

While no system is perfect, DEXs are still the best thing around when it comes to preserving freedom and privacy. It's just that they have a slight learning curve. Not to mention, the experience isn't as seamless as a CEX. Most people choose CEXs out of convenience. They don't care about their privacy because they have "nothing to hide".

At least, we have plenty of options to choose from. If all CEXs get shut down by the government, we can always turn to "Plan B" and "Plan C" for complete peace of mind. Better be prepared for the worst, just in case.

Crypto is legal in my country which is why I don't need to hide for using crypto. I don't see how face to face can be a danger to me when I have a sperate hot wallet which I only use to sell little bitcoin for cash.

My friends are the trusted ones and same with my younger brother. They don't even know how much bitcoin I have because I keep it secret. Sometimes, they just transfer the money to my account and I transfer from my wallet to theirs. As simple as that.

Honestly, I don't really pay special attention to privacy anymore, that's because it seems like all data in our country has already been leaked. Well, there have been a few cases in the past. When it comes to buying & selling crypto privately, I only use Binance P2P, this CEX isn't regulated in our country & I trust that they won't leak any data to our government.

In our country too, all the data has been leaked and compromised. I don't really care about extra privacy when data is already circulating freely; even if I wanted to, it wouldn't make sense. I generally use Binance and other exchanges, mostly Binance. Although I don't like some of their regulations, for example, they make you wait two days to withdraw funds to a cold wallet after making an investment, which is really bad.

I have heard news of people being attacked and killed because of the crypto they own, so I don't fancy buying or selling crypto via face to face as it will review your identity and put you in danger. Since you don't know what anyone is capable of doing, the best way to buy or sell crypto seamlessly and safe is through either DEX or P2P because you will remain anonymous and no one will be able to harm you. I buy or sell bitcoin and USDT through P2P exchange, the exchange I was using then was Binance but after the government of my country made Binance to shut down P2P service in my region, I now uses Bitget exchange.
