Whether you invest for long term in Bitcoin or do day trading, you need to remain vigilant since these things are not for lazy people. Investing in bitcoin doesn't mean that you buy bitcoin today and after few weeks or months you will sell that for some profit. Bitcoin investment require proper strategy i.e. you need to figure out that whether you are going to adopt DCA or opt for lump sum. You will also see time during the course of your investment that your portfolio will be in negative and you have to patiently bear that situation. All this is possible only if you are are up to date about Bitcoin market.
One might  decide to apply a lazy method. What I mean is the might decide to sell all their assets and belongings then use the entire proceed to invest in bitcoin for a period of 10 -15 years then live a casual life while waiting for their ROI. The life of the rich sometimes can be traced to some lazy method that ended up yielding results the least expected. Investment might not be for the rich but sometimes a lazy approach branded as smart work in our modern day term might be a big game changer on the long run.
There's no need trying to put the word Lazy in your statement as a means of justifying the notion that investment is in a way associated with being lazy.  Before you can invest a certain amount and remain invested for a period of 10 to 15 years, tye level of discipline that's required to make that a possibility is not a child's play. Investment is for intentional people and every process around it is undergone in an intentional way. You can't get wealthy by being lazy and can't gain from your investment if you're lazy about it.

I think investment does not truly suits lazy people, as investing does requires a lot of time to research about a company financial report and also the worldwide political events which would certainly affect the performance of a company as world economies are usually tied to one another and once a major economy countries goes into a downturn,

Although before we make a narration on what lazy person cannot do we should first of all understand the categories we have on investment so that way we could actually be sure if there is nothing for the lazy or otherwise, although I'm aware of the limitations a lazy person has but however on investment they have a chance to be part of it because we also have some of the investment that doesn't take someone's time or energy to do so long as they already have all the capital to proceed, meanwhile i would like to use Bitcoin as my first instance on the investment a lazy people could also find easy and we also we have Bank investment most people actually do and seat at home for the profit to come so actually the only barriers to a lazy person from doing anything is capital but if there is, they would also have what to do.

‎So I ask,
‎Do you believe that investment is for lazy people?
Business can certainly be a powerful source of income, but there is no guarantee that all businesses will always make a profit. Many businesses fail, and many businesses do not make a profit for many years. I do not think it is right to think that just by starting a business, someone will become rich and the business will give him a lot of money flow in the future. Those who want to do business  the purpose of living a luxurious life should make more conscious decisions. And I agree that it takes a lot of hard work and experience to get to a point where the business is profitable. But this does not prove that investing in bitcoin does not mean doing nothing . Even if you have the ability to invest in bitcoin, you have to work a lot harder, increase the income flow, and create discretionary income. Because if there is no proper economic condition, no one can invest in Bitcoin and hold it for a long time. And for this reason, investing in Bitcoin with business should not be compared. There are two types of conditions and hard work in both . And the advantage of Bitcoin is that not everyone will be an entrepreneur, not everyone can run a business, but many people can take discretionary income from their regular income and accumulate Bitcoin weekly or monthly. But the mental state and habit that needs to be created in order to hold it is really much more difficult.

And the example of Elon Musk that you gave is not like an ordinary person. He is a very experienced skilled person from the beginning. And he founded Tesla and SpaceX, both of these companies have also gone through bad times. You have to admit that he has worked hard here. But I think it is inconsistent to compare investment in Bitcoin with his activities. Bitcoin investment has a different from business. Buying and holding Bitcoin does not mean being lazy, if it is done with a proper plan. A person will earn income by doing business after gaining skills and experience and from that income he will invest in Bitcoin. The issue of investing in Bitcoin will come after income. Investing in Bitcoin before income or investing in Bitcoin without proper fund management means damaging your investment. So, just like business is for hardworking people, investing in Bitcoin is also for those hardworking people. However, the perspective is a bit different...

Anyone who truly understands what laziness means wouldn’t associate investment to  laziness. For the singular reason that someone have to make up their mind to do something, or put an effort towards achieving something in the process the said individual isn’t lazy at all. There are many people out there who even after having all it takes especially the money to start an investment but they keep procrastinating getting started in it such people could be tagged as just being lazy and not someone who got started in the very investment.

I think the reason why some people said investment is not for lazy people is because some people might be willing to start an investment but might very lazy to follow the appropriate steps like acquiring knowledge for a couple of months or year. Capital is not the only barrier between the investor and laziness, they are several things that will make a fresher feel lazy to start an investment such as FOMO, lack of self-awareness /confidence, lack of proper motivation, lack of proper financial management, limited skills and experience, and so on. Apart from capital and understanding, one of the most important thing that enhances progress and promotes success in investment is flexibility.

If you're lazy, then how are you going to invest the money? I mean, you need to do your own research before parking your money into an asset or company. Unless, you don't care about wasting anything at all. To be able to invest, you must have some sort of capital at hand. And to obtain that capital, you need to work. Only a lucky few don't because they either inherited the money, or have some sort of passive income via existing investments. Even a person like Warren Buffett needs to pay attention to markets and money money here and there to maintain his investment.

To answer your question, no, I don't believe investment is for lazy people. But not everyone thinks the same. To each, their own.

I don’t really believe that investment can be for the lazy people, because if you’re a lazy person, I don’t think you can probably achieve anything in your investment journey. They are a lot of investment that you need to have some experience about it before you can achieve your goals in it, because without knowledge you won’t see any benefits on your investment, and lazy people can’t even get the strength to focus and chased the knowledge. Only the hard worker always achieve what they need. If you’re a lazy person, you can’t get anything in your journey, and some end up in losing what they invested, since they don’t get proper understanding about the investment, because they are lazy to learned.

The answer to your question is absolutely no, investment is not for lazy people, but rather is for smart thinkers. In the field of investment their are various sectors, putting your money in digital asset like bitcoin, gold, stock etc requires courage , and dedication to do that, because it requires to persevere even during market crash, and this is something that the ordinary people cannot do.
More also, these kind of investment is centered on gaining passive income on the long run, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is a kind of investment you benefit more when you are advanced in age when you are no longer active enough to work for money rather your money works for you.
It is also important to know that some of this people who invest in digital assets also have their own company, and businesses that they manage themselves, and only use digital asset as a means of investment diversification.
For instance, you mentioned Elon musk , it is true that Elon musk owns Tesla, and also SpaceX, but am also sure he owns some bitcoin, and stocks too, and that doesn't make him a lazy investor.
Also, owning a company or companies is also an investment but not in the digital world, this kind of investment can increase productivity, employment, and economic growth no doubt, but owning digital assets , owning business are both investment but in different perspective.

This is a serious overgeneralization, because if the statement 'investment is for lazy people' then one would have to lob that insult at Warren Buffet (just the most famous investor I could think of), and if any of you all are familiar with how he built his immense fortune then you'd know he was far from lazy.

Second point:  Who cares?

And now a question:  Where have all the threads gone whose topics revolved around 'passive income' in crypto?  A few years ago that seemed to be everyone's goal, even if none of the degenerate shitposters or ignorant crypto bros ever described exactly how they were supposed to achieve it (or even knew the definition of passive for that matter).  Anyone have an answer to that one?  It's been on my mind lately.

Exactly, a lazy person can not be able to invest, as they will just mismanaged it because investment means something that one has to dedicate their time, energy and money into it and we know that someone who is lazy can't be able to risk their time or energy, as they will always be afraid of the future due to overthinking and this will make them to procrastinate about it or even if they have already started investing, their investment will easily crashed, as they don't have the mindset to start or do something productive.

Apart from capital and understanding, one of the most important thing that enhances progress and promotes success in investment is flexibility.

This is a very solid point. Having capital to start up a business does not guarantee you success in the business you have to be very diligent in your day to day activities to ensure that you do not miss out on the things you need to put in place in order to achieve success.

Unfortunately no lazy person can survive running a business that requires good financial management as you already mentioned and good strategies I promote and achieve good profit. Investors are smart people who plan so well and take the responsibility to ensure they get the right knowledge to keep their investments in good profit, investors are not lazy if they are you won't see them becoming very successful in their investments cause they put in a lot of efforts.

Nothing is easy, I also do not agree with the statement that investing in Bitcoin for 10-15 years is for the lazy people to make success, 10-15 years is not a short time, it is a long time, so as much as one thinks it is easy, in fact it is never easy, it depends on patience, self-control and long-term perspective. Along with this, you have to control your emotions for years, you have to control yourself even in the volatility of the market, and these are not easy tasks. So I think to achieve success in life, first you have to give up laziness, long-term investment is not the path to success for the lazy, there is no way for the lazy where they can achieve success by being lazy. If achieving success was so easy, then no one would work hard, rather everyone would think of succeeding by following that path in laziness.

No, I don’t believe investment is for lazy people.

Here’s why, based on what you just broke down:
My take on Iyinoluwa Aboyeji’s point
He’s not saying "investing = lazy". He’s drawing a line between 2 different wealth paths:

1. Entrepreneurship= Active wealth creation. Like Elon with Tesla/SpaceX. You build systems, create jobs, take daily risk. This multiplies impact AND wealth.
2. Investment/Passive allocation= Active wealth preservation & growth. You deploy capital you already earned, and let it work for you in Bitcoin, stocks, real estate, etc.

No, laziness and being a bad investor are not always the same thing. There are many long term investors who are not busy with the market every day, nor do they buy and sell repeatedly. From the outside they may seem lazy, but in reality they are patiently waiting with a plan. Rather the problem arises  when someone does not try to learn. Working hard is not always the key  to success in investing, Sometimes working less but making the right decisions, not taking unnecessary steps, and maintaining patience bring good results.

I would say people who don't invest are the lazy ones, and such people work throughout their life time without resting. When you engage in any business that involves your money for growth, and sustainability, is an investment.
I would also say that all the companies that Elon musk owns is an investment he has made, and not only owing digital asset is known as investment.
People do diversify in their investment, some persons are investing in bitcoin, some are running their own personal business or companies, while some are buying shares of companies, and all these are all investment in different form, and categories.

It is indeed a provocative headline and initially I thought a very hard no. But when I read the whole thing, I can see the point, although I don't agree with it. Entrepreneurship isn’t something everyone can do. Creating things—especially those with high added value—isn’t something everyone can do. Although it’s something that drives humanity forward, very few people are able to do it. Most of us are simply people who can only work for a salary. Creating and producing things is very difficult for most people. Those with such talent, like Elon Musk, can both earn a great deal and benefit humanity through their creations. Those who can do this should do so. But for ordinary people, working and investing the money they earn is also a necessity. It is quite clear how dollar inflation works. This applies even to those with a lot of money. Investment is inevitable.

You may be right, just like a saying that goes that one should not " judge a book by its cover", as one may not know what its inside expect they go through it, the same goes with humans as well because one may have a lazy or unserious personality but when one go close to them, it tells another different thing and you can tell how they are executing their plans wisely, as it will surely result good success, as its a good example and lesson that one don't have to rush into doing something before they can achieve something great and also, one should not pass judgment to others early without confirmation.

Yea laziness and and Investment iare not the same in anyway and being an investor is nothing compared to laziness.
Investment is putting money into a business, projects or resources to grow it with the funds invested on it with expectations of gaining profits at the end of the investment periods.
Laziness in my own definition is knowing what to do, and not doing it. Forr example knowing that Bitcoin is a good investment that accommodate everyone who is interested that doesn't stress but allows you to buy and hold until it's big enough to trade.

No, because it still takes effort from a though capital perspective.  Also, once one has worked to the point where they have accumulated some money, they would like for their money to work for them, i.e., investments.  While the money is working for them, it frees up time for them do things they want or enjoy.
