What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

Before joining this forum, maybe I tended to see that Bitcoin was not a serious thing.. but since the moment when I started registering and following the conversations in this forum, my view on Bitcoin changed so much and I started to learn a lot of things which made my knowledge better about Bitcoin, for example, non-custodial wallets are much safer than exchanges, Bitcoin is much more reliable than altcoins, the community is large, and other things that might be too many if I mention them.. This forum really helped me to understand Bitcoin very well and at the same time changed my life with it.

You just made me remember something and it's funny too, especially now that I have come to understand that all the knowledge I had before or thoughts about Bitcoin were false. So what I'm talking is the fact that before this time I actually taught that Bitcoin mining could be done through your mobile phone and anyone with their device could mine Bitcoin at their comfort which sounds really stupid and naive now when I have come to the complex technicalities that is involved in Bitcoin mining and the level of power consumption and finances involved.

  Dont blame yourself, im sure I did more stupid things all in the name of mining Bitcoin. Could you believe I visited the cyber cafe every weekday when in high school to run mining? Like, the seriousness in me then, hoping to get Bitcoin from those fake faucet websites I signed up for, was strong.

Well, whatever  , even if we have familiarized ourselves with the technicality required to start up a mining firm, the cost efficiency is high. An average wont be buoyant enough to build one farm.

What is that one lesson or belief about Bitcoin that have change since you joined the BItcointalk ?

Before coming here, I thought I knew a lot about Bitcoin; on getting here, i realized I knew nothing little about Bitcoin. This forum has thought me a lot about Bitcoin on an architectural and technical level.

I never knew much about decentralization all I knew back then were DeFi(decentralized finance), DEx's and CEx's, I never really understood what it means to be really decentralized.

I came to understand how Bitcoin differs from other altcoins and its unique ledger-balancing transaction process. The structure of Bitcoin gave me a better understanding of the web3 as opposed to web2; this knowledge is really valuable as a web dev.

Is it the technical aspect? I even ran a node and a Lightning node. I understand how Bitcoin achieve its decentralization by having varying nodes validating transactions. I can say for sure a lot of knowledge has been acquired and more will be too

And it includes about panicking won't do good to us so why worry with it that you have an idea that it shall do fine in the long run?

Actually you shouldn't blame those who panic over every single dip, because some folks have not experience dip before and I could imagine the feeling. I have been in that situation before, but as time goes on I began to master it untill now that  I have gained enough experience. However, no matter how dip the price goes, I won't panic because I have come to understand that there is a season where the price of Bitcoin goes down which is (Bear market) and also, there is a season when the price of Bitcoin goes up which is (bull run) so whenever I see the price of Bitcoin going dipper, I see it as a sign that we are about entering into a new season or probably there is a little correction in the market.

I am not blaming them, it's a lesson that I've learned as per my experience. So, both of us have been in that situation where we have panicked.

But did it do any good? it didn't and that's why we have no control to the situation of the market and we should continue to invest according to what we know about Bitcoin's behavior.

The market might be experiencing bearish today but, eventually it will become better and will be back to bullish.

Actually, before joining the BitcoinTalk forum, I did not believe that it was possible to earn money online. A relative of mine created an account on this forum and broke my disbelief and I became confident that it is possible to earn money on Bitcoin. Earlier, I had no idea about digital currency but after coming to this forum, I gained a lot of knowledge and education. I have learned a lot from the posts of many educated and knowledgeable members on this forum. I have learned how to create a wallet and hold security phrases only after coming to this forum. Again, I have learned how to trade and invest and how to select the right coins and which coins are suitable for long-term holding from this forum. In short, this BitcoinTalk is as important to me as a daily newspaper.

To be honest let me mention the biggest changes that BitcoinTalk forum has brought in my perception about Bitcoin, firstly I have learned the difference between paper money and Bitcoin and also gained knowledge about how this digital currency can provide financial freedom.

Financial freedom is one of the things Bitcointalk taught me that I could achieve investing in Bitcoin and that is why I am still trying my best to acquire as many Bitcoin as I can because I know with more Bitcoin I own the higher my financial freedom increases. This forum has taught me so many things in regards to Bitcoin and I think another thing that the forum has taught me is to not be afraid of the market as that is something that I used to do when I was not yet in the forum. When the price of Bitcoin rise or falls it always affect me mentally but after I got registered and being a constant member on the forum, I have grown in my emotions and the market no longer affect me that much unless maybe a major drop happens then I might look at the market but I will not be panicking unlike how would have done before.

Bitcointalk have really tought me so many things, most especially learning so much how to buy and accumulate bitcoin for a long term, I usually have this mindset of buying bitcoin, but I usually don’t know how to get started, but when I came here I learnt that I have to be buying and accumulating bitcoin with a discretionary income because that is what is expected to keep buying and accumulating bitcoin, and also have a reserved funds most like an emergency funds, I must say I got my basics knowledge here on the bitcointalk.

I’m always scared of getting started, because of the volatility nature of bitcoin, but I learnt that I need to stay consistent and buying bitcoin on a regular basis to have a sustainable investment.

Yes I completely agree with you. The thing that I have benefited the most from this place or forum and am still benefiting from it and if I can maintain it then I will definitely benefit from it in the future is patience. I was not patient before and if someone told me to be patient and wait for some time I would never have been able to wait. But since I joined this forum I have been learning about long term investing and slowly learning from everyone about being patient. If I had not been patient then I might have been separated from an asset like Bitcoin just like I have been separated from many things in the past

A lot of people have been hearing the name Bitcoin but they still don't understand what actually Bitcoin is and the benefits that it gives it's holders, up till recently when I discuss Bitcoin with most people they will be curious to know what it is all about. Before joining this forum I didn't show much interest about doing any research about Bitcoin except for the little information that I got that if you buy it you will get profit then you sell it, I thought that it was a Ponzi scheme. I didn't know anything about it's decentralization and finite supply or that it is a hedge against inflation, these were things that I learnt in this forum including the importance of self custody. This bitcointalk forum is no doubt the best place to learn and increase knowledge about Bitcoin, what we learn here we pass down to newbies that are joining the forum.
