You can be a day trader or scalper or both but let us assume both, using $500 to trade and earning $10 to $25 daily, the confidence will later deceive you to increase your leverage and become greedy, which is the start of the beginning failure. Stop loss started failing, trading account funds shrink and at last after several losses because of the trading mindset that changed from good to poor, the trading account funds all got liquidation.
From good trade that is not hitting the stop loss, to stop loss failure, to account funds complete liquidation.
Has this happened to you before?
Not really, but something similar does happen. $500 is a very big amount that I will not even deposit in my trading account because I know that greed will take over and make me to make nasty decisions that will affect my overall account. Trading is very risky but most importantly, abiding by the rules will really make everything to be even more enjoyable and stay longer in the market than expected. Greed has caused more failures to trades than wins, so many people try to fight and avoid it in their early stages in order to be well disciplined and not allow that to change your notation of the market. Using proper stop loss has helped a lot of people to revitalize their account back after going down in loss. Without the good use of stop loss, it’ll make you face more troubles in your trading journey.

If I have grown some confidence, then it is not really a bad thing. If we are mature and know how to control our feelings, then we can easily control our greed. But yep, it is not wrong to say it is a greed catalyst because it really is one. If we are naive enough not to control our emotions and confidence when winning consistently, then we are going to lose big in a single trade, and then regret will start. If I am winning only $10 to $25 with $500, then I would never grow confident haha because the profit is too low. If you think you have done something big by making this profit, then you are wrong. You still have done nothing big enough to grow your confidence.

So far haven't experienced yet I'm kind of swing trader so this trade requires a large amount of capital with a small leverage because this will take open for a couple of days and when it comes to set up I do have an early strategy to make an entry with a confirmation of the market so having a SL and TP is a must it's a futures trade so this requires discipline and proper handling of the position any against on the trade will be treat as losses without no hesitation.

You are not wrong, it's really difficult to go against your greed as a trader but I must say a lot of people still make the whole situation worse for themselves by already looking at the potential profit. When you focus on the profit even before it comes it makes it very difficult to control your greed and emotions, that's why it is better to not focus on profits and consider your trading money lost it will be easier to control your greed and emotions. No matter how hard we try we can never take away greed completely, it's just part of us but when it gets out of control that's when it tuns bad.
Absolutely, greed is an inbuilt character, one can just control it but can't completely get over it, that is why one has to know the risks and the rules of it, as it will help them to guide them through, especially when greed wants to show up. Also, trading its step by step, one can't just start profiting without having losses and through those experience of failure can also be help, as one can control their emotions. But consistent is the goal.

Well, if you can make a profit of 2 to 5 percent every day, that is a really great result. But in reality the most difficult thing is to maintain that consistency. It is possible to make a good profit for a day or a week, but it is very difficult to make the same profit month after month. So you should not be tempted to take more risks when you get such returns. Overconfidence becomes the biggest problem of many traders. In futures trading, of course, there is an opportunity to make profit on both sides, but the risk is also much higher than in spot trading. So for me trading according to the rules is more important than making big profits.

Undeniably, greed is what makes us fail in our trades, so if we do our best to work on it, then it will also pave way for our own success in trading. The most successful traders have chose not to be greedy, although they make use of some leverage, but they make it a point that they can manage well whatever the outcome is.
However, we can't tell to get rid of greed completely because obviously, that's impossible. Greed motivates us to do our best in trading, but we should also set limits to it and control our greed especially if its not leading us anymore in a positive way.

The thing is, you can't be a real trader if you have not experienced being greedy and experience liquidation. Id say that's normal especially for newbies in trading. But once you learned from your losses, you will slowly realized to get rid of greed as much as possible.
Being greedy means you chose to abandon logic and stick with your emotions. You keep chasing unrealistic profits through oversizing positions and overleveraging, and these are most of the reasons why a simple trade turns out a failure, why a potential profit ends up into liquidation.

Greed is not only in trading but in all aspects of life if it is not eliminated, it is not possible to achieve success. Many people may make some initial profit while trading, but that greedy trader thinks that there may be more profit, so he does not sell in trading but holds on and later faces losses due to this holding. Just like gambling where if you win the initial few bets in gambling, greed awakens in him and continues to bet more consistently and later faces huge losses.

You nailed it. And that's exactly the reason why a lot of traders do not succeed in trading, simply because majority of them are still trading with emotions, are still trading using their maximum amount of greed.
Trading is heavily linked to gambling. We know gambling. The act is also heavily linked to greed and as to why many are termed as ''problem gamblers''. Greed should also stem with emotions. Trading and gambling are so fast-paced. Results are up and down. They are like a roller coaster of emotions. And until they will never experience the losses and consequences of being a greedy trader, they will never make positive changes that could somehow contribute to their trading success.
As they say: experience is the best teacher, but it is still or also possible for one to start with lesser risk. That is if they won't be greedy and rush things without proper knowledge on their head. However, greed is something that's human nature. Everyone has certainly greed deep within, but some are good enough to control them especially if they know how risky trading is, and being more greedy will only compromise their trading outcome.
Yes. Even not in trading but there should be other things that now makes them to be greedy. It is not an excuse though but we still need to try to control it, especially if the thing is not right to be greedy with. That being said, yes that there are things that being greedy can be a good thing.

It happened to me many times that I've made profit but then lost completely due to the wrong decision, thinking that the coins I've bought will be good enough. But that's a speculation and going with some liquidation. I'm not a gambler with futures and I don't want to be those guys who kept on gambling even if they knew that they're going to lose. Trading isn't for those who's got a mindset of a gambler but it's for the people with patience and discipline.

You are exactly explaining the situation of a careless trader, and in my understanding, every trader must go through this phase. I have seen this in many cases, and everyone goes through this stage at least once, where they were earning a stable amount. However, one false sense of confidence leads them to trade more with high leverage. While the risk may seem to provide an opportunity to change the whole situation and environment, they forget that this requires high knowledge, understanding, and experience to determine whether the risk and confidence are genuine or fake. If it is fake, then you can only watch your empty account at the end.

And trading with emotion is one of the worst situations you can find yourself as a trader, the moment you start chasing careless profits the more you go dipper into losses, traders should just stick to their strategy and maintain their level of trading margin, if they avoid being greedy and removing emotions then they will reduce the level of losses they encounter if not they will keep losing and getting pained.

This would have happened to many traders on this forum before, that is if you are truly trading. A time you will be making profits from trading in a way there is not single loss like a magic for days or weeks or just a little loss. It is all going on good and you are happy which will make your trading confidence grow which is a greed catalyst.
You can be a day trader or scalper or both but let us assume both, using $500 to trade and earning $10 to $25 daily, the confidence will later deceive you to increase your leverage and become greedy, which is the start of the beginning failure. Such has never happened to me and never will because when it comes to trading with leverage, I am always extra careful especially in the area of choosing a leverage size.. I once attended a trading seminar organised by some forex broker known as instaforex, (I don't know if the company is still around or not), the manager of the company said one thing that really touched me which I always remember when ever i want to trade or invest in any crypto currency. He said a wise rich man would rather walk away with his networth exactly the same as it is, than he to risk loosing his or part of his networth in the name of trying to increase it. What he meant by this is that it's better to not make any profit and don't lose any money, than to lose money in the process of chasing after profit, he said this is how highly professional traders think and it's one sets them apart from other traders, they enter a trade in a manner that their win chances will be higher than 90%, and to achieve this, one of the most important things they consider is minimized leverage size, using a high leverage size for trading does increase your potential profit but also at the same time increases your chances of losing and getting liquidated.
