A Post-Quantum Proof-of-Work Cryptocurrency

Discrete (XDS) is a pre-launch proof-of-work cryptocurrency designed for post-quantum transaction validation from genesis. It uses standardized ML-KEM-768 for private output delivery and ML-DSA-65 for spend authorization.

Mining uses DiscretePower, an identity-bound construction combining SHAKE-256, ML-DSA-65 and a modified yespower memory-hard core.

Solo-Only no Pools. It's not 100% non-outsourceable but you're welcome to try

This account-numbering system has been around for more than ten years, although it is implemented quite well here.

What is more interesting is that, even though the coin has not yet been listed on any exchange, a service providing basic initial liquidity has already appeared within the community: https://www.xdsbuyback.online

This means miners are no longer forced simply to hold on to everything they mine. They can already sell their XDS for USDC, receive payment almost instantly, and do so without creating an account.

The account numbers are useful, but I wouldn't call them one of Discrete's main innovations. Similar ideas have existed before; here they are mainly a convenient human-readable layer over very large post-quantum addresses.

What makes Discrete more unusual is the underlying protocol: post-quantum ownership from genesis using ML-KEM-768 and ML-DSA-65, without legacy elliptic-curve outputs that would need to be migrated later; deterministic PQ wallets with private output delivery; and DiscretePower, an identity-bound, delegation-hostile PoW designed around direct solo mining.

So the short numbers are nice UX. The post-quantum transaction model and mining design are the parts I find much more interesting.
