Have a colleague at work place who keeps saying that gambling is also investment that in gambling whatever amount you use to gamble can actually yield back the results, he emphasize on that if you are gambling you should do the best to use a better amount to place your bet so that if you win then you gonna have good pay out.

Did your friend ever think of when you use a bigger amount, and you lose out everything? Gambling is just a game of luck, despite there are some people who use it as a source of income but it can never be compared to investment. Your friend has a very wrong impression about investment, gambling is not investment and investment is not gambling.

Gambling is not an investment and should never be regarded as one. The pattern at which gambling operates is very different from how an investment works. You can’t invest into something that your expected ROI is based on 50/50 and your risk are so high that you can’t contain them when the losses come. Gambling is more better putting into the category of side hustle, rather than it being called another means of income. Gambling is a game of luck, and for that reason that you can’t learn from past losses in gambling, it is not befitting to be called an investment properly.

The way we ask some questions makes me think that it's either we know what we are doing and just questions because we want to ask or we don't care to learn. The money some people have loss on gambling this year alone, if they use that amount of money to make investment into some altcoins, they may not have gotten the profit they want but they may still have half of their capital remaining but I don't think 1/3 of the capital will remain if it's gambling.

You know what's dangerous about gambling, you can claim to know how to gamble but after many trials you will understand that gambling is the worst place to try as investment. There is nothing you can fall back to when it comes to gambling, you either risk it and lose it or you lose everything. That's how gambling is but but if you do futures with leverage trading, I will say you are also gambler, that's worst than trading sometimes.

Yes, there are many people who make gambling an investment, they have the mentality that they are making an investment and from here they will definitely make a profit, they have the mentality of making a sure profit. In gambling, the results mainly depend on luck, where in the long run most of the participants face losses. On the other hand, the basis of investment is research, risk assessment, patience and long-term planning.

But if a person does not understand these things, then I think that he does not have any real knowledge. If someone enters the market with the hope of quick profits, makes decisions without research or buys on emotion, then I believe that his behavior is completely like gambling. If we want to achieve something good in a business or an investment, first we have to research it thoroughly, consider the risks, Because no one can achieve success with 100% surety. So it is clear that an investment can be a gamble if we manage that investment completely unrealistically, but a gamble can never be an investment, no matter how well we do it.

Gambling can only turn as an investment if you are owning a casino business and you invest all your efforts and hard-earned money into it, that's investment. You will yield an income even tenfold of your capital if that casino successfully operates for long term.

However, if you are just a sole gambler who's continuously trying to take an edge over the house, which is certainly impossible, then you cannot say that what you are doing is an investment. You will lose and even mess up with your bankroll if you gamble irresponsibly, so definitely that's not how an investment works. An investment will guarantee a future income, gambling will only guarantee losses.
