[SCAM ALERT] Malicious Wallet Drainer & Advance Fee Scam

What happened:: The user @Moog Labs promoted a free domain-based Giveaway Site that promises expensive prizes, which are nothing more than a method to attract victims. After you win one of these giveaways, as happened to me when I supposedly won $118 in GATE.COM, the website requires you to pay a $5 USDC insurance fee to secure the prize. This is a tactic often used by scam websites, where victims are asked to pay money in order to receive a fake reward.

Also, the website requires users to connect their wallet through a "Connect" window, which is a method often used by phishing websites to drain wallet assets by getting wallet permissions and approvals from the connected wallet.

Additional Notes: The website offers commissions of up to 250 USDC for referring new users. These unrealistic rewards are a tactic used in pyramid schemes. I will tag the user's account and report their posts. Please be careful, everyone.

Nice catch albon, it 2026 and scammers haven't given up yet with their stupid old scams tactics. Maybe this means a thing or two, maybe they are still getting a few victims here and there. Thread has been deleted but just in case the scammer tries to make another post in the future, let me add a trust flag on his profile.

A scammer who uses a combination of scam tactics on a single website ^{[he/she can’t get any lower than that! (SMH)]}. Since that free domain is being hosted on Google Firebase, I believe we can use the "Request to take down malicious websites" option to report it and in case they don't take any action, we can try disabling their checkout widget ^{[it appears to be relying on thirdweb (a platform with a set of dev tools), so we can report them here: abuse@thirdweb.com]}.

From what I can see that our reports have had a positive impact. Firebase seems to have checked the phishing website and removed it after being reported.



I do not expect scammers to stop using these free services to promote their schemes. They don't cost anything, and new sites can be created quickly and easily. So, everyone here, especially newcomers should be careful with attractive offers using free domains like these, as they're usually poor traps made by scammers.

If they were planning to build a real platform, spending a few dollars on a proper domain name wouldn't have been a problem.

The scammer is quite cheap, they do not even want to spend money to make their scam scheme look somewhat believable, lol

Good catch albon, flag supported too. I don't think anybody should even go close to falling for this, i mean, everything about it reeks of scam, not to mention the classic pattern of depositing funds in order to claim what you supposedly won freely, lol. One would have to be really gullible and greedy to lose money to these guys.
