Well, this is just your opinion, I don't think a lot of people would have talked about it the way they did if actually it was just a mere conspiracy as you said, I'm not against Argentina winning the World Cup and I can also agree that they have remained strong and played effortlessly to come to the finals, it was not that completely favoured them to get to the finals but their own strength too and I am happy I won some bet on them but in the case of what happened in the past week, I can not help but all feel that FIFA was biased in that match between them and Egypt.

Argentina had one of the best teams in this tournament. They have this never-die spirit which has helped them to come back after going one or two goals down. Messi has been prolific, contributing greatly to the success of the team. However, we cannot overlook the allegations that they were favoured in some games. The game against Egypt will always be a good case study. The match officials kept overlooking Argentina's infringements while its opponents were punished for a slight foul. I totally blame the Egyptian team for their loss, but the referee contributed to the loss.

I am not in the camp of those who believe that the games are rigged. Some of the errors might be a result of human mistakes or the love and respect for Messi. The Argentine captain's character and qualities make him lovable and respectable.

The way FIFA has created the groups, it has divided the good strong teams into each group. In addition, the groups have been created by combining the midstrong teams and the teams that are lower in the ranking. Because if Argentina, Spain, Brazil, France had put them in one group, then the maximum strong and popular teams would have been eliminated at the beginning. Their rules are made in such a way that the popular and strong teams can stay in the game for a long time. Even after that, if they lose in the game at the beginning, there is nothing they can do. Like i keep saying it, the top 4 best teams according to FIFA rankings made it to the semi finals of the competition and that for me shows exactly why there’s no favoritism from anywhere. Even before the tournament kicks off, countries like France, Argentina, England, and Spain have been tipped by many football fans and pundits to go as far as reaching the latter stages of the tournament reason being that they are probably regarded as the best top 4 teams in the world base on fifa rankings and for me I just feel they justified their inclusion by reaching the last 4 in the competition. Sometimes referees errors due exist in football, but not to say that there’s any form of favoritism. The game between Argentina and Egypt was a really heated game, Egypt were 2 goals up against Argentina only for Argentina to come back into the game and while officiating such matches it requires a high level control if not you might end up destroying the competition and that’s why some decisions are taken in order to prevent those disasters. I think the 4 teams that made it to the semifinals of the World Cup really deserved to be there base on their performance and not really because one of them is being favored.

I have seen that football fans are over-the-top for their love of sports. So, whoever wins, the other party is going to be disappointed obviously and it's highly likely they'll be not be able to accept it, and will create theories as a defense mechanism.

But, look — humans are flawed creatures, and I do not completely discount the manipulation and favoritism that could have been there.

The world we live in is one place that, is filled with different people all with different kind of reasoning and the way that, they look at things. Bringing it down to sports there is always this talk about favoritism especially from the governming bodies that constitute different sports governing bodies. Football the most popular sports if am not mistaken has been on the center of it all, since the beginning of the 2026 world cup for the past three weeks the most important football competition there has been different conspiracy theories. Especially on this forum .


From the group stages of this world cup there has been different conspiracy theories going on, which has been that FIFA football governing body is favoring some certain countries, when the world cup was in the group stage the caption was FIFA was favoring European teams and was biased towards certain teams such as Africa countries. When the group stages were over we started hearing another one and that was that FIFA was favoring Argentina because, of Messi and that match officials were instructed by by FIFA to favour Argentina.

But after watching the semi finals of the FIFA world cup matches both from the Argentina vs England and that of Spain vs France games, it became clear to me that all these stories were all conspiracy theories and nothing more. Using the Argentina game it was believed that FIFA was going to favour Argentina. But after watching  this game, one thing that I realized is that this game was one of the best games in terms of officiating if you ask me. But Argentina has to once again come back from behind to win this game in their usual format, right from the beginning of this world.

That's your own thought and view about the whole issue. As for me, u don't pay attention to all that.  About the rumor of Argentina been favoured by FIFA, I don't know if that is true it false. I don't even have time to begin to look at that. I believe that I'm matches, certain things happen at times and it may seem not too good to some and then maybe favour you, and that doesn't mean it was favoritism.

Let's also remember that the officials are just mare humans and may not be perfect, so sometimes, they could make mistakes and it may not be intensional. Even VAR too, they can make mistakes too. So in the world of football, there may not be 100% right officiating, but you would agree that in some matches, you would get a nice officiating, just like we saw against Argentina vs England, even though there were few moments I thought the English team won a foul that was not awarded by the referee, but that couldn't have decided the match.

I don't look at favoritism, I just look at how best you play to win your games. Because even though a referee was officiating wrongly against you, you can play too good that even his wrong officiating cannot stop you from winning the game.

Honestly, this game is very difficult to predict in terms of which team will win. Argentina has a lot of experience and knows how to win their games, even when facing a tough opponent, but I still don't underestimate Spain; they are very good, and if they reach the World Cup finals, I won't be surprised. All I can see from them since the World Cup began is that they understand their opponents. Argentina or Spain has a good chance of winning the game because they both have what it takes to succeed.

Going by the semi finals performance of these two side Spain has an edge over the Argentine's. Even though we can't totally rule out the wining odds of Argentina because they have been able to showcase that game after game right from the beginning of the world cup. People can't say to themselves, "Actually, I'm a higher primate whose cerebral cortex has evolved significantly.
