I always enjoy when folks talk about their personal experiences instead of what they read somewhere. Anybody can read article or watch youtube then come here to explain. Im not against it actually; don’t misinterpret me.

Let’s say for example,  an investor make a mistake with his wallet backup and later found a better way to keep his seedphrase safe….i’d prefer to hear his story than another person explaining it. Same thing for investing, many people will say “just use DCA and hold”. But when you hear it from an investor that continuously bought and stayed calm during price fluctuations teaches a different lesson. You hear how he handled it, not just what he thinks should be done

Experience of one person don’t apply to every investor. We all have different income, responsibilities and goals…that’s why should we share our experiences as lessons, not the only correct way. So it’s left for the curious investor to make his own research and decision after. It’s more educative when members talk about what they actually done, the mistakes they made and lessons they learnt.

Share your opinion? Do you find personal experience more helping compared to one with theory?

Even though personal experience is more preferred than random discoveries found online about what others have seen on a particular issue, do you know that anyone can come up with a personal experience on something he never gone through?.

This will lead me to talking much about individual integrity and reputation we may have and the consistency that might have been sorted with us, if you follow up with someone reliable in everything they say or do, at least you can afford to attest on their credibility and reputation and anything presented by them will be trusted by you, unlike any random person that will claim something they never achieved as being part of their personal experience.

Few weeks back I created a thread for people to share their experience https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5585116.msg66808519#msg66808519 I received a few responses that aligned with the topic and few others that criticised the thread for the title I used.

There is one proverb that says experience is the best teacher. Nothing teaches better than experience and it feels different hearing from someone that have first hand experience with someone explaining from what he read. Reading about wallet security and the consequences for neglecting the core security practices sounds too fictious until you hear from someone that has experienced the consequences. You'll begin to take everything serious especially if you know the person.

Na why learning online and learning in classroom dey different. It's a good comparison to this topic.

Bitcoin investment and the technical aspect of bitcoin goes with practical to have the experience because it's impossible for someone without such experience to tell you what to do in full details.

This is why I laugh at those who are talking about investing into bitcoin when they don't even have any Sats. I wonder what they want to tell people that they are talking to. You cannot give out what you don't have.

That is the truth and a big Fact, personal experiences goes a long way than theoretical knowledge. This is one of the good advantages of being in this forum. Most of the time when you ask questions of things you don’t know and wish to know you get to hear answers from real people who had faced similar situations and their answers are quiet different from those you get from people who are answering based on what they’ve read or studied.

Bitcoin investment and technical knowledge needs a hands on experience, a physical practice and experience. From knowing the experiences of others you plan better than getting answers from even an AI.

Explaining from experience hits different actually, as the saying goes “ Experience is the best teacher”. This forum is a great place where you will unique knowledge from different people’s experiences and perspective so far you’re open and ready to learn.

Experience has proven to be more important than just mere theoretical understanding and that’s why even in stages of learning, you still have to go through practical to have those experiences and real life experiences are even better..

Investors who made mistake and lose money do know how to keep their seed phrase safer than who is just reading on paper and never have any experience over it. It’s not always good to have bad experiences, but it teaches us more than how we read or watch somewhere.

The explanation and teaching from who have the experience is better than who is using theoretical knowledge to explain the entire process no matter how good they understand it because that experience they had has it all, they have practically applied the theoretical approach and have seen the outcome.

I definitely and 100% find theories that stem from any personal experience more enlightening and of great help because, it is that, which explains why things happen.
That is, the underlying reality behind a storyline told by someone with a personal experience makes a theory and this does more to educate an open mind willing to understand inorder to apply the right methods.

Personal experience will definitely make more impact than theories because experience are things that we have tried and seen the outcome. In investing, sharing experience too will help people learn faster and avoid some of the mistakes or poor ideas implemented whole using those that worked and gave better results. This is why sharing personal experience is far better than sharing theories that have not been tested.

Personally opinion/ experience do carries greater weight because it do comes with real situations. And also make might work for mister A might not work out for mister B. Having to share both our experiences and lessons will help out very well for others to check which fit them

It is often said that experience is the best teacher, learning from experience is better than reading articles. Many of the investors have had different experience when it comes to bitcoin investing, and sharing your experience with other investors is very necessary.
When we share our experience with other investors, they will actually learn from them, these experiences could be achievement from bitcoin investing or mistake we have made as investors. So when you share success stories people follows your steps to achieve your kind of success, and when you share your mistakes investors also learn from your mistakes.

Personal experience is practical and so it sticks with the person forever which he continues to give out as knowledge in terms of advice whoever he sees someone going toward the same direction that gave him that experience, therefore we should not ignore those persons but get closer to them and understand for proper guidance so that we would not experience such or PE a victim.

In investing in bitcoin experience they say is the best teacher if you don't want to learn from those that have experienced it then you should be ready to learn in a hard way personally.

I always love to talk about this same things before you wrote it so, whenever person explains what he passed through, how he cope with the challenge and then come out of it successfully, I enjoys it more than internet stories, to be honest.

Especially when someone mistakingly loose his PK, and suddenly he can't access his funds anymore because of his carelessness, and then decide to explain to everyone not to store seed phrase in so so and so place, it's risky.

Exactly, personal experience is very important, it takes a life experience sometimes to understand so many theories we read on the internet about almost every aspect of life. Experience shared gives a practical view of events of bitcoin investment and trading. Reading practical experience inspires more and allow newbies to understand that it's not all theories.

There are folks that don't believe that a person can have the mind to actually allow his investments to last very long without selling it off out of panic or financial crises. Experiences about wallet security details, pass keys, seed phrases and their backups sometimes sound like something very revocable until you get to hear from people who have had similar issues telling you how impossible it was for them to access their wallets.

Experiences about long-term DCA and HODLing like that of CryptopreneurBrainboss post is one of a very helpful approach to HODLing bitcoin when he talked about forgetting your bitcoin and if possible, seeing it as a loss from the onset.

There are more experience based articles here even on the wallets and other bitcoin related issues.
Remember that no matter the source of the experience based knowledge, you still have to do your own research (DYOR) before going all in.

Share your opinion? Do you find personal experience more helping compared to one with theory?
It is necessary to understand the summary from what others are seeing or saying and relate it with your own experience, but I also do not like the matter of delivering that same summary to someone else. I have seen or heard something then I took the important part from there and that is enough.

But when I'm going to tell someone something, I will say only as much as is possible from my own experience. Personally, when I give advice to someone, I try to share my own experience and to me, this seems more helpful.

Personal experience matter in certain occasion but can't override proven theory, principle which has been experimentally verified, I seen some personal experience and build up which act as additive to some length the theory have not emphasize due to individual understanding. Personal experience is very important human imagination differs ten person's can discribed one element in different form depending on their articulation level of reasons this help to improve others knowledge in having others ideas greater than what them think the same element could be that is reason I love the sharing of others personal experience over things the encountered in life both in the trade, investment and how life treat people as human. The fastest way to grow and gather more excellent experience is reading and engaging on others personal experience mostly those who are successful in line of the business, investment or trade, even in the academic, it help to facilitate and increase productivity.

Experiences can either be personal or you can learn from others experience which will in a way help you make a more informed decision. it is not only when you directly encounter scam cases that you can have the ability to talk to others on how to stay protected from being scammed. if i take peoples stories seriously and get the basic information that helps protect me from any possibility of getting scammed, i have achieved a lot already and if from the theory i know, i can share relevant information that helps the third party from getting scammed, i have equally done a noble job.

Either the experience is personal or one that you know that stand to help others avoid being scammed, they are all useful for those in need of such information. if what you share is able to save someone from being a victim of scam is what matters and not that what you are sharing is something you experienced first hand. some of us know some things and have set up the right system that will not get into into scam cases to start with so without for our personal experience will only mean that you are going to wait forever.

Even though personal experience is more preferred than random discoveries found online about what others have seen on a particular issue, do you know that anyone can come up with a personal experience on something he never gone through?.

That's a very good opinion.

Well, it has to be a personal experince with physical evidence that you noticed in the person. It should not be a screenshot, word of mouth, or third-party stories. Anyone can come up with a fake screenshot. Anyone can come up with fake stories. But if you see the investor who practises it daily with results, you dont need anyone to tell you that thing is actually working for him. This is the type of personal experince OP is talking about.
