Bitget is back again with zero fee on P2P trade. This was how it was initially, before the started charging very little fee. I am happy to see that they have removed charge on P2P this morning when I wanted to make a p2p transaction and I said let me bring this to your notice especially, those who stopped using Bitget exchange due to this little charge on P2P trade.

What do you think is the reason why Bitget is charging for P2P trade and later remove the charge. Is it that they're doing it on purpose or it's the government that is putting this charge on them.

I see it as a business strategy to bring back its customers and also attract more. Nigeria is a big market that crypto service providers would do all they can to gain a share of the market. A country with above 26million crypto adopters is not a small market.

Do people pay fees for P2P trades  on their various preferred centralized exchanges? Not sure about that and if Bitget really want to compete in that aspect , they must remove whatever fee they are charging in the first place.  Nobody will use a paid  service on Bitget  when they can get it for free on Bybit and Gate( not sure how OKX handles theirs ).
For now, it will take more than that zero fee to get back their customers as it's  not a new thing.

OP i don't think this information is new because someone created the thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5578187.msg66538391#msg66538391

It is not a new development. Recently, Bitget has been making some adjustment in their p2p platform because the last time they issued a warning to those who manipulates and negotiate prices in their p2p system.

If you don't mind you can lock this thread and continue the discussion from the link i posted.

No man, after Emjay24 posted that topic, bitget resumed collecting fee again, I had multiple P2P last month and paid fees, but it seems they've stopped again. I just did a little P2P to confirm the claim before commenting here and I can certify they've stopped once again.

This is being unsteady with their policies, but I can always turn a blind eye to the fees since they're negligible, it's good to sell my coin at zero fees once again.

I kind of agree with you, it was business strategy that backfired, if after they've imposed those fees and lot's of people were still patronizing them, they would have still continued, I believe they had to backtrack haven noticed a lot of people have left their platform, besides there are other exchanges with same offer or even better offer that don't charge any fee for P2P transactions. Nigerian market no be watin an investor go carry play, we have the numbers to make business strive.

I think this was actually done today or at most two days back but currently all these are not necessary anymore since they have done it before and now brought it back while all of their happened here.

Bitget are just annoying, I won't be surprised if they bring it back, there's not enough justification for these fee, although they made it cheaper than the previous one before this.

Yea people still do and I'm one of them,  I'm not like the kind of person that want to have so many CEX accounts, often when I have no other options or something special I guess.

Even if things changed after Emjay24 posted about it, all discussion after this Bitget fee or no fee in P2P should be continued in that thread, and not creating a new thread.
This thread should be locked and discussion should continue in the other thread.
To continue the discussion in an existing thread will be better to save us from having similar threads which I can see several warnings about that by the moderator.

It will just be like an update, and posting it there will bump the thread even if it is not in the first page, and forum members will open check the update  regarding the discussion.

However; it is a good news that the fee is no more, but what are they bringing it back after removing it before? I think they need to decide what to do, but having zero charges will bring more customers to them.

Are you just noticing now or should I say did they just release the notification now? This is not something new because I noticed this a long time ago. I can't remember the exact date they stopped charging fees in their P2P trades but I knew it was as far back as last year. I just wonder how they make their profits if they charge no fees for P2P trades just like Bybit and Binance who have been running it at zero fees for a very long term now.

Exactly the point you’ve said it all. It’s pure business strategy, whatever was the reason for the charge they’ve weighed it and seen it wasn’t beneficial to them and have resolved to free service but they have to give better quality services cos right now, there are a lot of competitors in the market, each one looking to better the other.

Though I’ve used Bitget recently to sell I didn’t notice any form of charge, maybe they’ve lifted the fee then; this was just last week.

Despite the fee then I still prefer using bitget p2p because their merchants are way active compares to that of Bybit . Not to mention how annoying some Bybit merchants can be sometimes especially when come to not paying you complete they now started using fee they will demand for ascertain fee depending on how much you are selling it was that bad that I had to focus on bitget P2P only .

Well this is nice it will even encourage me and many others to keep using bitget  for p2p .

I have recently tried Bybit again, I think Bybit P2P is better now. I think the swift payment is even automatic because once you place the order, your account will be credited in less than 5 to 10 seconds. This happened to me two times, so I will still try it more to confirm if true. Bybit was the exchange I do not like its P2P before, but there has been a change recently. It is worth knowing that I like round figures like 50000, 60000 naira and so on.

No man, after Emjay24 posted that topic, bitget resumed collecting fee again, I had multiple P2P last month and paid fees, but it seems they've stopped again. I just did a little P2P to confirm the claim before commenting here and I can certify they've stopped once again.
This one dem they do off and on with this their fee wahala, dem they do am anytime them see say the platform don they lose customers way they come trade and when dem notice say customers don many again dem go change the terms again, if dem suppose they charge fee nah those buyers dem suppose they charge am no be regular small seller. And this kind switch no really good for business we hope dem hold am for long this time.
