Which exchange platform did you buy it from? and where are you trying to send it to? Someone else? a wallet, or another exchange and which one is it? It would be easier for us to help you if you could share more details about what you need.

Let me say you have not used a fake exchange for it, if you use a legit exchange and you send the coin to the right address, you will see the bitcoin on you wallet.
It may take time, let the transaction be confirmed first on the blockchain. Answer the questions that has been asked from you.

As much as you made it sound like you need an urgent help, you'll need to be more elaborate in describing what you really want. The information you provided isn't enough to understand what actually happened with you.
How did you lose the £100? Is it that you never received it from where it was supposed to come from or you erroneously sent it to a wrong address? You also didn't tell us the exchange you used to buy it and where you want to send it to.
You can only get the help you need the when you provide the right details. There's no way you expect us to help by guessing.

So you didn't send BTC, but rather WBTC on Base's network? If the person gave you a real BTC address (start with 1,3 or bc1) , Coinbase would've shown an error because that's not a valid WBTC (EVM) address. And if the receiver did give you an EVM address (starts with 0x) then the user should be able to see the funds in his wallet. Now... if you meant to select another network (such as Ethereum for example), and you selected Base by mistake... the only way to recover the funds would be for the receiver to connect to the base network from his wallet. This should be easy if the recipent uses a non custodial wallet like Trustwallet, MetaMask, OKX wallet, etc. If it's an exchange though... that's going to be more difficult, especially if the exchange does not support the Base network to start with.

Do you mind sharing the address of the person you were to send the Bitcoins to? Also ask the person if the address he gave you was of an exchange, a custodial service, or a noncustodial wallet. This is very important in case you want to see if there is a chance of recovering the Bitcoins. OP, I think you still need to learn more about Bitcoin, other blockchain networks, markets, exchanges etc before you start involving in some money.

I think what he meant to say here is that the platform is coinbase and not the blockchain network. thank you all for your help i will try that thank you
If you can post here the bitcoin address of the person where you paid that £100 of bitcoin then we'll see if he has received it or not.

Nobody knows except the OP. But if it's their first time, it makes sense that he'd be more interested in using the base network, as in the platform, Base is the featured and "free" network option. And the Coinbase network could mean internal transfer. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HRPQU5OyqjU

Nobody knows except the OP. Yes, we can only speculate and wait for his additional words and info since he's not also well versed yet on crypto things like his concern of buying. But if it's their first time, it makes sense that he'd be more interested in using the base network, as in the platform, Base is the featured and "free" network option. And the Coinbase network could mean internal transfer. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HRPQU5OyqjULet's wait and see if this is going to be it. It only takes his verification and clarity on this one to get the whole picture.

To ensure your Bitcoins are universal and accepted on any platform, use the Bitcoin network. Other networks won't give you real Bitcoin and will only be accepted on specific platforms, sometimes causing confusion and ultimately leading to unrecoverable.

The bitcoin network was a good choice. Everything else is WBTC (Wrapped bitcoin) as we mentioned above. If you want to understand more about the risks associated with it, you can check to this article: https://www.spark.money/glossary/wrapped-bitcoin#risks-and-considerationsMy personal recommendation would be to never use WBTC but if you ever do or have to, make it quick and never hold it for long term.

How about the £100 that you said you've lost? Is it different from the £100 of bitcoins that you want or send or it's just a mistranslation and you meant: you lost it since you can't send it? BTW, the forum has local sections if you're not comfortable on communicating in English. You might be able to explain it better in you native tonge. Just click " Home" and scroll down to see the available local languages, or click this direct link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php#5

Just follow what everyone suggested. Do the bitcoin network, nothing more, nothing less if you don't want headache. If it's not the bitcoin network then don't do it. While it's interesting to get into BASE network, what you're sending is bitcoin and if it's on another network then it's not an actual bitcoin as explained by Omega. You will not like to have an altcoin named bitcoin because it's on another network. And to make it easier for you, can you paste here the bitcoin address where you're sending the bitcoin? if ever you're done with it to check if it has received btc or not.

I've pretty sure that you will get all the help on here but damn, newbie why don't you take your time to do research on how to actually buy Bitcoin without messing things up? It is too clear that you don't know much about what you are doing, is PayPal the everything youj had that you can use to buy Bitcoin? I thought PayPal itself supports Bitcoin ? Sorry I don't use it but talking from what the news says. Apart from you Getting stucked right now, learn from this, don't start what you don't know anything about, always ask questions first before taking any steps.

Can you tell us the chronology, where did you send it from, from Exchange to personal wallet or to someone else, do you still have the TXID (proof of sending).? Usually the most common case is difficulty sending it which results in losing money due to wrong address or network. If you send Bitcoin to the wrong ETH, BNB, USDT, or exchange address and the status is confirmed, there is a high probability that your money will not be returned. If you send from an Exchange but it hasn't entered the destination wallet because it hasn't been confirmed due to the fee being too small or the memo/tag being incorrect, there's usually still hope, you can contact the exchange customer service by attaching the TXID. Now try checking the TXID here ( blockchair.com), the status "Confirmed or Pending". Don't believe anyone who sends you a DM saying they can refund your money if you pay first because it's a scam.

I don’t own an account on Coinbase but, I know there are certain limits and restrictions when you register an account on exchanges that has levels to its KYC. If you are verified on Coinbase, you shouldn’t have any issue sending Bitcoin to a Bitcoin address over the Bitcoin network on Coinbase. Your level of KYC would determine the volume you might be allowed to send at a time over a defined period. There a wallet is of obvious advantage, you get full liberty to work. You can’t send Bitcoin over a Coinbase network, it would display an error message. You can only send Bitcoin through the Bitcoin network. It doesn’t matter what device you are using once you’re doing it right.
