Is gambling really for everyone?

In my own personal opinion, I think gambling is not for everyone. Those who are real gamblers understand that gambling is not favourable all the time, and sometimes it involves losses, and sometimes you will also make wins.
Those who are gamblers can persevere losses, and be patient while they gamble.

I brought this topic because of my experience previously. I have a friend who gambled for years, endured losses, and eventually won big. But their is another friend who doesn't gamble, when he was broke he have someone money to stake game for him, the person staked the first time but lost, he gave another money again, the person also staked, and lost for the second time. This time, he became very angry with the gambler he have money even trying to demand for refund.

So, this prompted to ask this question if gambling is for everyone?

Anyone that is addicted to gambling, gambling is not for such a person. Anyone that is spending time than necessary on gambling, gambling is not for such a person. Anyone that is wasting money on gambling and it is affecting the person financially, gambling is not for the person. Anyone that is thinking about gambling as a way to make money, gambling is not for the person. Gambling is about having fun, if gambling is not entertaining you, gambling is not for you.

Gambling is not for everyone, most especially those that takes gambling as means to settle their financial crisis will definitely regret their actions, gambling is for fun and only those with finances and that can apply risk management in dealing with financial life should gamble.

Who said that gambling is for everyone? Gambling for those who are ready to accept the risk of losing money in his bet.
Someone you mean, for his first time gambling because he saw your friend who won big right? This is a pure victory because of the skill you have.
So don't blame anyone because the gambler himself is wrong because he is too obsessed with wanting to win big, so gambling can be a disaster if he becomes a reckless gambler.

I would say it is something that everyone should experience at least once in their life time, doesn't need to make it as a habit if they don't have the financial risk tolerance but enjoying it once will give them an experience. And in the story shared by opinion, someone who doesn't know what gambling is ended up gambling and lost the bet, which shows the ignorance of that person; they should have learned what gambling is before trying it.

Technically gambling is not for everyone, but for those with Self discipline and also very responsible in all Thier dealings, had it been the casino use to make assessment before giving permission to gamble, I'm sure that majority of the gamblers will be disqualified due to the fact that they are not mentally ready to gamble. Some gamblers decide to gamble just to be like others, while some decide to gamble due to FOMO (fear of missing out) some only want to give it a trial and in the process of doing that they got stuck up and all of a sudden they became addicted to gamble.

I agree with you on this that gambling isn't for everyone because there are those that can't be able to stand lossing. Those that can't be able to stand losing money isn't supposed to gamble. Gambling is a game of luck and anyone that is not willing to take a risk isn't supposed to gamble.
There are people that don't understand how gambling works and they feel that gambling isn't all about luck but rather skills and experience. It maybe that your friend was actually looking at the person as a guru or maybe his annoyance was prompted as a result of gambling more than what he can afford to lose.

Everything cannot be for everyone; likewise, gambling falls in the same category and cannot be for every individual.

You should not be gambling if:
- You do not have a source of income.
- You have a serious health condition that gambling can make worse.
- You cannot handle or bear losses.

For you to be a gambler, you need to be ready and prepared to let go of any amount you stake and not to expect all to come back. We have those who are mature in age, but they are not mature in reasoning and can’t handle losses; they can easily get influenced by gambling results. basically gambling is not for everybody and there is no special people at gambling is meant for, so it is only person that can bear the losses in gambling that I will bodily say that gambling belong to him, why people feel that gambling is not for everybody it is because of the kind of luck they have on the process of gambling, some people have the luck, to be winning gambling every time on some people does not have the luck to win gambling and they can't endure their losses

Gambling isn't for any person that is jobless and still is obsessed with profits. Any person that is jobless and always is about profit can never ever gamble with what they can afforded to losses. They will prefer to go and borrow gambling  money so while expecting plenty profit to come from the big bets they placed, but that is not how gambling work, it is unpredictable.

Sometimes you can expect to get profit, but that profits may not come and when you don't even expect it, you can just suddenly see the profits .

It's a typical story of every gambler who's got some money, did some gamble and lose everything.

While for some lucky gamblers, they've been doing it for years and then made it big. As much as I want to be like those lucky ones.

Winning big seems to be an attractive trigger for all gamblers to just keep on going even some should stop already.

Yeah, that's right. Not everything is good enough for everyone. The same is true with gambling, it is not for all, just for some users who take it very seriously. If they treat it as a source of income, then they handle it very professionally, taking every step very carefully, managing the bankroll and the risk, and controlling their emotions. Then they can enter the casinos. However, some users approach it as if gambling is universal and suitable for everyone. In reality, not everyone can absorb the shock of losses. Of course gambling doesn't interest everyone. Just like some people don't like golf, or cars, or skiing, or knitting, or collecting coins. The world is a rich and varied place, even within the world of gaming - you could classify gambling in this way - there is a massive amount of options. Some people might like the brain taxing and bluffing involved with poker, but avoid doing any other form of gambling. Why do you think that everyone must gamble in life is a more fitting question, because that is what your thread title seems to suggest. If somebody gets hooked on gambling, then that is enough topic altogether but personally I think that those people should take some accountability for their actions as they can walk away from it at any time.

Gambling is for everyone but not everyone will be able to control themselves from getting addicted which is why you shouldn't start gambling for the sole purpose of making profit.

Your second friend shouldn't gamble because he has no clue on what gambling is all about. He's only after making profit from gambling which was the reason why he gave someone money to gamble with and after losing wanted a refund.

To answer your question outrightly, gambling isn't for everyone.
Some religions ban gambling activities, some countries and regions do too. Different individuals have their choices and just like some like what you hate, that is how some love gambling and some never really understand it or have the stomach for it and so they hate it, no matter in what form it appears.
It's a matter of choice and societal laws and personal responsibility.
I think also that restrictions in form of age or local laws can make gambling be for only a selected few. So that's just the way I see it.

Gambling is free to do anyone but not everyone can match gambling especially when associating this with addiction problems and many adverse things that indicate that they are not suitable for gambling.

Sometimes the basic assumption about gambling just because it is easy to do then they will race to try to gamble without caring about their own psychology even though this can be a mistake because they only focus on gambling but do not focus on their own condition.
So even though the assumption of gambling for everyone can be wrong because for me gambling can indeed be done by anyone but not everyone can adapt to gambling especially when their bad mentality can actually mess things up.

Imo, I would say that gambling is a personal choice, but it is not an activity that suits everyone . Therefore, it not necessary that everybody must gamble or become gamblers, those who lack self control should stay away from gambling otherwise they may become addicted. Because gambling is something that, once you start it you can lose control if you don't have self control. Those gambling to solve financial problems should stop, gambling is paid fun and the earlier people start seeing it that way it would be better for them.

The short answer is yes, if you're of legal age, anyone can play. Then again, the question you're asking is relevant to many life situations, for example, driving. It might seem like something we do every day that everyone has the right to do, but the truth is, most people drive very badly, or they're irresponsible, they drink and drive, they get distracted, etc. And that's where your question in the title of this thread comes in.

It's the same with betting and many other life situations. Of course, anyone who sets their mind to it can learn to drive a car, but will they do it well? So that analogy applies to your question.

Not everyone is suited to gambling.. some people are unable to control their emotions or accept losses, making them highly susceptible to gambling addiction.. these types of people should not gamble because they are far more likely to make impulsive decisions and gamble beyond their means.. these individuals should avoid gambling altogether and avoid exposure to it, because once gambling becomes a habit, it can be extremely difficult for them to stop, and they will only ruin their lives.
