Everyone has a different journey into Bitcoin.
For some, it was the technology. For others, it was inflation, self-custody, or simply watching Bitcoin survive multiple market cycles. What was the turning point for you?
Was there a specific article, book, event, or personal experience that made you take Bitcoin seriously?

Well, seeing the reality that after a decade bitcoin remains firm and thriving, then I just thought that this must be something real, unlike what others mostly claim that bitcoin is nevertheless a get-rich-quick scheme. But if it does, people should have get rid of it years ago, but it does not turned that way.
Now, people are instead slowly embracing bitcoin, as an asset, as a currency, and the technology it brings that create convenience for us. What more can I ask for? I don't want to really ask for bitcoin globalization and government full acceptance, because that could mean losing the decentralized factor of bitcoin which is a huge advantage for us.

Experiencing altcoins made me understand how beautiful something called bitcoin was My first impression was it was a digital asset that was worth quite an amount Not yet up-to $5K then. I got to know more about it from the forum Why it is bitcoin and why it seemed safer than the others out there.

First it was the volatile nature of Bitcoin, which gives the idea that I can make profit from it before anything else comes into play. It was the idea that first convinces me into Bitcoin, and now decentralization is what’s keeping the hope going, and for many it might be different, but the possibility of making profit out of holding is always among the list.

Initially I see bitcoin like every other coins (altcoins ). My first impression with altcoins wasn’t what I hoped for , it was so messed up to the extent that I loss their confidence to buy coins not to talk of holding .
But has time goes ,as I spent more time in this space I began to see the beauty in bitcoin and this forum helped me build my confidence back to the extent I can’t hold , after learning more about bitcoin and seeing early adopters testifying about holding Bitcoins for long .

I think there are different reasons that made me change my mind about Bitcoin but the one that stood out for me was the fact that even though Bitcoin is volatile in nature it still attract investors and gives them the profit they are looking for, Bitcoin has been here for over a decade and it hasn't lost its potential and with it you are your own boss as it is a decentralized currency away from the eye of the government and their shenanigans.

I know Bitcoin from some successful seniors in the past. It was inspired me to follow their success. Unfortunately, I have no enough money in the past, so I am trying to collect funds from working something like bounties, airdrops, or referrals. The money I got from those jobs, I started putting on Bitcoin gradually. So, finally I have some Bitcoins and I sold the Bitcoin in 2021. I keep investing until now after I can multiply my funds in 2021. I think it is my turning point.

The main reason I take bitcoin seriously is its limited supply of 21 million BTC. It means bitcoin is scarce or will be scarce. Another thing is that when I know about bitcoin, I know that the adoption will continue to increase. I knew in 2020 that bitcoin will later be an asset that institutions will buy and a coin that countries will have as a reserve. But the main reason I take bitcoin really seriously is because it is a store of value. Others like decentralization and full ownership are just other reasons.

At my early involvement into cryptocurrency, I focused my efforts and capitals on altcoins because then I was told they moved faster interns of profits. That's why you really do need knowledge to approach the market because without it, you would be wasting time and capitals on worthless coins. After getting to know Bitcoin, I got to understand the difference in terms of volatility and Bitcoin is !ess volatile compared to what people thinks. I've seen altcoins dump to nothing in minutes, what happened? They got rugged and alot of investors had high hopes for them.

Mine didn't happen immediately, it actually took a gradual process. After I was introduced to Bitcoin, I was more concerned about making money from it. It was on the process of try to make as much money as I can that I learnt that it's not just an avenue to increase the value of my assets but also offers me full control over them, that was what made me stay.
Learning that no person other than me can control or access my coin when I don't expose my key was what really caught my fancy to study more about Bitcoin.

I finished my studies and I had for a while free time and energy to devote to Bitcoin. Maybe if it had been different and I had chained other studies directly or started working as soon as I left the degree I wouldn't have had the opportunity to stop and question its potential, but the fact is that it coincided like this, and I'm glad because of it.

I think it’s from my experience that I’ve witnessed how Bitcoin has managed to survive and even continue to hit all-time highs, even though the Bitcoin market has been hit several times by major events that led many people to mock it and assume it would die out. Yet, Bitcoin has continued to survive and keep growing. From this, I see that Bitcoin is a decentralized form of money that has truly proven to be reliable and trustworthy.

Nothing. When I first heard about Bitcoin, I learned that I could send money anywhere and anytime in the world instantly, without needing banks and with almost no fees. I knew right then that it was going to be a big deal. Because at that time, there was no alternative that came close to it.
My view hasn't changed since 2013. Bitcoin was the money of the future and now we're living in that future.

You're probably missing the most popular reason why many started their journey into Bitcoin. It's making, growing, money. That's how I started also. I even got scammed as a newbie.
The thing that made me treat Bitcoin seriously wasn't in what you've mentioned. It was the idea of decentralization. The idea, not the technology at first, since I haven't yet had the slightest clue how the network works.
I eventually embraced it as a technology. As a matter of fact, since I was working overseas at that time, I eventually used it in lieu of fiat when sending remittance back home. That was the cheaper option. But I was making use of custodial apps.
It was only later on when I started reading books about it, starting with a local one written by our country's former solicitor general who was himself a fan.

What changed my mind? I'd say inflation. That and also the need for privacy. I've always considered Bitcoin to be a better store of value than Gold. Portability is one of its main selling points. Once I got to learn the ropes about how Bitcoin works and what its purpose is, I never looked back. Bitcoin changed the minds of many people. Both haters and skeptics alike. Now it's a worldwide phenomenon. Even Michael Saylor and Donald Trump are in the game (former BTC skeptics). Let's just hope more people change their minds, for the benefit of the project.

Just personal experience and words from the oldies who have said that bitcoin always recovers. So in my own point of view, I've seen the best and worst of it. I'm not that old just like the others who's got a lot to hold. I only own few and I'm looking forward to have it when the market price skyrockets because sky is the only limit for bitcoin's growth.

I think this community as a whole. Because when you're going to search about Bitcoin, this forum is one of the first result that you will see. So there's nothing best that finding this community and then individuals discussing Bitcoin and how it affects them positively. And then as you join and go along, you experience the same and validated what others have been preaching for years. That Bitcoin is self-custody and then you can profit out of i by just investing and holding. Of course, there's other way like trading, but it's not for everyone.
