People need to stop saying that because institutions are now buying Bitcoin heavily, they own bitcoin, or with this, Bitcoin distribution is now a problem on this part, I believe it's not true .

Who are the people saying that? What institutional investors own is the only bitcoin under their possession and not the unmined bitcoin, nor the ones in someone's personal wallet. Neither do they own the network; the only power which they hold with their large volume is the power of manipulating the market negatively to some extent. Aside from that, they are very limited.

And even if they continue to buy and hold massive amount of bitcoin, bitcoin will never be completely become their own possession.

But let's be honest, not everyone will have the courage to reserve $100 to invest in bitcoin. They might even be more interested in gold but will stay hesitant with that certain amount for bitcoin. Yes, they'll invest, but most likely starting with a minimal amount first.

So we can't conclude that eventually the whole bitcoin will belong to the institutions. Bitcoin is still decentralized, and no amount of investment can erase that fact.

And what would it change if people somehow stopped saying that? People have said that institutions were buying bitcoins since i came along in 2013.

Whole idea of bitcoin was that it's permissionless to transfer, so it's supposed to be very inclusive when it comes to buying it. And now we should gate keep who should buy it because it's the wrong people? And why wouldn't institutions interested about an asset that has insanely bullish chart and has made ton of profits for people who hold it over at least one cycle.

The problem in this is when majority of these $100 investment is channel through institutions, it will not surpass the institutions investment but rather will increase the gap held by the institutions and the collective individual.  Another problem is the availability of the needed volume of Bitcoin in the market.  Even though there is enough number of people investing at $100 if the supply is not sufficient to meet the demand order, then the calculation will be different.

Institution not exceeding the collective individual holdings is true if each $100 don't go through the institution channel.   Otherwise the statement would be debatable.

Just reading about the claim that institutions control Bitcoin in terms of they total investment size, what I believe is that institutions could lead the mainstream adoption because institutions presence build confidence in the general public to hold Bitcoin.

I believe we understand bitcoin enough to know that the math and its rules has’nt changed. The only thing I see here is that institutions has acquired certain high financial status, and if they choose to invest in bitcoin they will buy more than the average individual.
And to some extent, some average individuals are still not knowledgeable about the idea of bitcoin leaving them ignorant. And at same time some see it as soo much risk to invest.

With the way bitcoin was designed, it gives no room for an institution, governmental organizations to claim it niether does it have a ruler. What makes it even more interesting is that even the institution abide by same rules just like every other holder running a node. They are also  identified as users and never as owners.

Once it finally gets to the point where individuals realize and understand that even a little portion of bitcoin that secure their purchasing power against inflation, there will be a balance, where the amount held by individuals are over the ones held my these entities, the assumptions will die down.

Institution are seen to be powerful because their asset are together and their sell or buy decision can happen in a way that it to an extent reflect on the reaction of the market. if a whale who is an institutional holder for instance sells his bitcoin that is worth thousands of dollar, the market will feel it and because some of them carry a name and ideology that also leads to bitcoin being relatively bullish, their action does not just affect bitcoin just because they sold a certain quantity of bitcoin, it affect bitcoin because they have with time become a part of bitcoin believers.

Individual holders cant make their buy or sell decision simultaneously. when individual A wants to make his decision to sell, B might not make his and when B wants to do same, C might not be interested and so, whatever an individual investor does is rarely felt by the larger community. Bitcoin is for the people are the whales and institutional holders are still a part of the people. who owns more bitcoin has an upper hand to an extent but the people actually have the greater influence on bitcoin because if they adopt bitcoin then we can say that there is a great increase in the extent of individual bitcoin adopters.

It is definitely necessary to invest in Bitcoin, because you can compare the current time with the past and see how much the price of Bitcoin has changed. At the moment, due to the high selling pressure in the Bitcoin market, the price of Bitcoin is quite under control. And if investors agree to invest now, then they will definitely be able to achieve huge benefits later. Because the price of Bitcoin is quite low now, but after a while there will be a huge demand, then the price of Bitcoin will skyrocket.
Where people will definitely succeed in investing in Bitcoin, and those who are deprived of Bitcoin investment will continue to regret it in the future.

I have heard that and what you are saying is correct. Till now 2/3 ( two-thirds) of the world population has not use bitcoin so the few institutions who are privilege to join the innovation have shadow the other individuals investing in bitcoin. The bitcoin market is open to the public, you, me and anyone who has money and wants it can own bitcoin, institutions are just the same investors as us, the only difference is that they can collect large amounts of bitcoin, and "ownership" means that your bitcoin is in your own control, not stored on a third party, if you store it on an exchange, it's not entirely correct to say you own bitcoin, not your keys not your coins.

Correct, bitcoin is actually for everyone, anyone who is interested in bitcoin can buy it, and this is one of the reasons why I love bitcoin investment and the best part is that you can actually invest or start investing with any amount of money you have, you don’t need to have huge amount in your bank account before investing.

I agree, but the blockchain ecosystem is increasingly owned by institutions. Most crypto exchanges now want banking licenses. Kraken already holds a state banking charter, and several others have applied for federal ones. The ecosystem will be unfortunately more and more under government control....

They bought bitcoin it was true but they could control bitcoin of course it was a big mistake.
From the beginning we know that bitcoin is independent without being able to be regulated by anyone so in this case buying with large amounts does not mean they can control.

I know that when there are large purchases and sales directly it will trigger waves on the chart temporarily but that does not mean it is as a form of control because since the beginning of bitcoin it could not be regulated even by satoshi himself as the creator.

I don’t think the argument for a lot of users has being either institutional investors being the ETF own Bitcoin because of their large holdings.
The argument I’ve seen the most is how they can influence the Bitcoin market based on their position.

On average, individual or retail investors is estimated to hold over 60% of the circulating Bitcoin leaving institutional investors and exchanges (which holds on behalf of others) to share about 40%.

The issue about influence always comes from coordination as, institutional investors can easily decide and coordinate how they trade than we can have with individual or retail investors but, that’s just based off theory and not in reality.

Although Bitcoin wasn't created for the elites but from the look of things it seems like the institutions are taking over because the retail investors are chickening out of investing in Bitcoin because they see the price falling not knowing that the institutional investors are silently accumulating.

Institutional investors understands the power of holding a large portion of an asset and that is why they are putting funds together to buy Bitcoin. I doubt a 100% of the world population has $100 to invest in Bitcoin, there is poverty and many people can't even afford a $1 savings in their account talk more of investing into Bitcoin.

What we need to do as a community is to keep buying Bitcoin instead of selling them off to the hands of institutional investors because if we allow that to continue to happen then we are giving back power to them instead of holding that power for ourselves. Bitcoin is a free market and although it was created for you and I to have hope, if we don't hold on to that hope we are going to lose it to the elites that control the fiat currency and then we fall back to relying on them for approval of our own finance.

I don't think everyone has discretionary income to invest in Bitcoin and there are also people who will prefer other investment than Bitcoin investment but any one who has discretionary income and want to invest in Bitcoin is free to invest in Bitcoin as long as he or she has there discretionary income available, just as if you have said it doesn't require huge amount of money to get started i believe that with as low as $10 one can start accumulating Bitcoin using the DCA strategy it can be either weekly or monthly when there discretionary income is available and hodl for long.

Don't worry for retailers because now they are still the majority of bitcoin holders, in the table above more than 49 million addresses holding BTC over $1, then there are about 22 million addresses holding BTC over $100, and so on. Indeed, most of the large holdings are concentrated by institutions but still it does not mean they control Bitcoin. The role of the institution is also only limited to third parties because the existing bitcoin they have a combination of millions of investors.

It's you who should evolve with the reality. I detected this myself even before I saw anyone opening their mouth to say it out, and based on my experience afterwards, it happens to be true. This doesn't stop the huge Bitcoin's community base and adoption, but it a reality. Take a look at what's going on during weekends, for instance, have you noticed what Bitcoin does that time? Was it like that before? That's institution pattern, even as we pretend the market is open during the weekend.

Have you also seen what's happening around the ETF market? Is that not institution-linked? Many big banks and companies are now involved in Bitcoin, and the effect is obvious, provided we want to admit to the reality.

Certain people have this type of notions. Institutions will be buying bitcoin because bitcoin does not discriminate about who is buying and owning it. Because these institutions understand the importance of bitcoin and its possible rise in price from current price, they will buy and look for the profit. They are also the ones who will sell when bear market starts to happen but still buyback at the next start of price rise.

Such techniques need to be learnt by the common traders as well. They can also make profit off the market in this manner or just keep it simple and continue accumulating bitcoin over the years.
