Be Cautious: OctoSwap Scam Warning

Please note: On Jun 18, 2026, I posted a warning to the community about OctoSwap. I considered it a high-risk service because of major red flags, including a very high minimum order requirement and signs that the service didn’t work properly.

Today, I found an additional scam report from a user who says they were scammed by OctoSwap and have had no funds for weeks, with the status still showing “processing” and support via Telegram/email unresponsive. The user also mentions no ETA or resolution.

User’s statement:

“Scam! No money after 2 weeks, $30k. No funds received, and still “processing.” Support on Telegram/email is unresponsive. No ETA, no resolution. Can’t understand how this service is still marked as legit. Don’t use unless you’re ready to lose money and okay waiting forever.”

I also urge Orangefren to remove their listing until this scam case has been resolved.

Note to the community from Trêvoid: Please be cautious with OctoSwap and other newly created services. Some platforms may look appealing, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Earlier there were red flags such as unusually high minimum orders and signs the service wasn’t working properly. Today, we also received a new scam report: one user lost $30k and still hasn’t received any funds after weeks.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. If they have been holding a user's funds for weeks then without even any updates then I don't see why they should be trusted at all. Looks like they think the $30K is their price range to perform an exit scam.

I also urge Orangefren to remove their listing until this scam case has been resolved.

You might want to drop this line in their thread for quicker action before we get more vvictims.

Thank you for brining this to my attention Trêvoid. I'm only replying now as it's the weekend, but I immediately removed OctoSwap from OrangeFren.com. I also confronted them, but they claim no such swap ever took place.

It would be good if the user who left that review could provide some evidence that they actually sent the coins to OctoSwap.

Thanks for that warning, I usually test swaps recently but I'll never test something that has that much required minimum order.

And it's possible that they're just going to change the name, start again and will do the same tactic just to get some new victims and fresh head start. But eventually, they'll still be known to be a scam swap when someone like you and the others have seen the signs of having red flags.

Yes the order was marked as valid after review by the Monerica admin.

They can change and recreate it again, but I won’t let this go. I’ll keep monitoring them so they don’t scam more people. I have my own tracking list of exchanges and I run daily checks and tests. Some exchanges also won’t post threads on bitcointalk because they’re afraid of me, and they’re linked to previous scams. Even when they’re not active here, I’m still monitoring them.

Thanks to your service and I hope that you'll find them all until they stop this scamming that they've been doing and using to feed their families. It's true that some of them won't be posting here and they'll just continue to exist without having a presence of having a thread here.

Bare in mind this doesn't mean the user actually sent OctoSwap any coins, just that he created a swap and entered its ID. Monerica doesn't verify if the situation described in the review actually occurred (we do with reviews on OrangeFren.com)

Based on what was submitted, the order says "Time: Processing..." and that "Your order has expired!". There is no address in which we can see that funds were sent anywhere. We are saying it's a valid order creation and that what we see matches what the review says. But without knowing the address the user sent to and without OctoSwap responding, we are believing the report to be credible. Either party can respond and provide more information.
