It's no longer news that unemployment ration in Nigeria is very high, so should we start crying over it?

No because as a Nigerian, we have seen that our government have no plans for us the citizens, but instead of seating still and crying over it, it would be more better and beneficial to look for a way out of it, by being self employed, because good jobs are scarce, and even when an opportunity arise, you will see like 80,000 people going for one or two opening position, so that is where only those with connection gets the opportunity. So as a Nigerian youth or a graduate it's best to use your tongue to count your teeth in other not to be trapped in abject poverty, because things are not going to get better with these evil politicians still ruling the country.

This is not new at all I'm Nigeria, or do we say it's not news, because the level of poverty as a result of unemployment or underemployment is too much and there is no governmental means out of it unless we find a way ourselves. The government are comfortable and the masses are struggling. So we have to find a way for ourselves and stop depending on them because they have failed completely.

One of the leading fight individuals against unemployment and underemployment here in Nigeria is self-employment, yea. People are going into personal skills and craft to survive, and surely, it's working well.

As for me, I have long quit the blame game on the government and switched to technology and skills for self development and dependency.

We are neglecting the fact that the government has work to do. Self employment is good. But we are talking of millions of people. Just imagine if everyone is self employed, we will have so many competitions. The money earned will still be used to survive, not build a well structured business. The government has to solve unemployment at a higher level. Removing millions from unemployment. Even at that, if the economy is shit hole, then your self employment skill will be slightly useless. Nigerians are already suffering from purchasing power and that is a problem in it's own. Government has a bigger role to play in this. Not saying being self employed or learning a skill is bad. It's just that if the system doesn't reward such skills, the you will be no different from someone who is unemployed.

it's already obvious to Nigerians that unemployment has dominated. Di government don fail di citizens and for dis Niaja now instead wey u go sit no dey do anything as a graduate, you need to look for a way out and to be self employed. Well pay job now for Nigeria na for people wey get connections not to the people with good grades anymore.

You fit see portal open now and before you know, more dan thousands of citizens go apply only to see say na people with connections go get di job or people with money to buy end up to get am. While children of poor citizens wey graduate with good grades dey waka about different office dey look for job.

In Nigeria today unemployment is a common problem affecting the country,  not that there is no resource capable of providing employment opportunities but because this resource are not properly managed.
Another challenging reason is the presence of corrupt leadership system,  the leadership system in Nigeria today is the established just to be beneficial  to leaders and not for the creation of job opportunities that will help reduce unemployment in the country when they know every year thousands of graduates come out with hope of getting a job.
I agree with you. Nigeria has enough human and natural resources to create millions of jobs, but poor management, corruption, and weak policies continue to prevent these resources from being properly utilized. Every year, thousands of graduates enter the labour market, yet the number of available jobs remains far below the demand.

The government needs to focus more on creating an environment where businesses can grow, industries can thrive, and young people can develop useful skills. Job creation should be treated as a priority rather than something discussed only during political campaigns. Until leadership becomes more focused on building sustainable opportunities for citizens, unemployment will remain a serious challenge in Nigeria.
This issue of lack of job opportunities is also among the problems that requires serious attention, one great difference between us and other countries is how useful resources are utilised for job creation in accordanceto the available demands for job.
Other great countries finds all necessary means of making job available for all there citizens while that of Nigeria is based of self-wealth. The leaders in Nigeria today are only interested in enriching themselves and not how citizens will be free from hunger and starvation

Some people are solving the problem with self-employment. Or you are waiting for the government? Do not deceive yourselves.

That’s the directive the labour market has taken, self employment and entrepreneurship. Waiting on the government or to work some white collar job has being a thing of the past.

Na why you Dey see people way no fit manage am Dey turn to crime and other acts way no Dey help the image of the country. That one na for one side shah but,

The idea way back school today no really be about gaining employment after school except for those way do professional courses. Most people way enroll today just wan Dey certified and if them find job, good otherwise, them fit work for any informal sector or create their own jobs.

It’s not uncommon to see a Nigerian that’s above 25 years old who has multiple jobs. Everybody dey hustle, civil servants dey get businesses on the side way them even value pass their government job. The ones way too lazy to start their own business go turn their jobs to office where them go take dey collect bribe and other wayo things them dey do.  Na just the way the country be.

In terms of job creation , Nigeria government has failed us ,and that has increased the level of crime in the country, it now look like going to school is a scam ,like what is the essence after going to school, graduate and there is no job ,even the once available is based on favourism ,it's very painful .

But on the other hand youth are now empowering themselves, people are going into skill acqusization , and are creating job for themselves and others, they don't longer depends on government job to survive, so they are paving way for themselves now ,I pray that reduce the rate of poverty and unemployment in the country.
