Were was God living before creating the heaven and earth

To the christian faithfuls, growing up as children we were told how God created the heaven and earth but till date, no one has ever told us where God lived before creating the heaven and earth .God must have been living somewhere before thinking of creating another one. Topics like this are usually very controversial and i always tend to try and avoid talking about them but let me make an exception for this one cos i think it’s a good one.

Looking at it from a philosophical standpoint, your question is a valid one OP but according to popular Christian belief, God didn’t need a pre-existing home to live in. He is the creator of all places and time so the belief is that he isn’t limited to either of them cos he is eternal.

I was born into a Christian family and my dad was even a pastor before he passed away in 2012 so i pretty much know some things about Christianity. Although as i grew older, and started to question some of the teachings i was taught about Christianity and God, something’s didn’t just add up.

Some teachings seem to be logically inconsistent and some just can’t be empirically proven so now i’m caught up between fully committing to the whole concept of Christianity and using my common sense/discernment.

I’d like to discuss about this topic further and see more opinions from other people.

I wish I had time to go through the possibilities.

We scientifically see that that there may be many universes right here with our universe. Parallel universes. Multiverse. Vibrationally slightly different from our universe in such a way that they can exist in 'the same place' as ours.

Material things, like electrons, etc., are made up of smaller particles which are energy waves... and are really parts of our universe impinging on parts of other parallel universes in our multiverse. I subscribe to the idea that all of space is really something like an elastic solid that is all working together in marvelous ways. It doesn't sound so silly when you put it all together.

God lives in light that is so bright that it is like a solid because of its intensity.

God is almighty... can do anything and think way beyond anything we can begin to conceive of.

God has probably made loads of multiverses that are so entirely different in 'material' than this one and each other, that there is no plane of reference in our understanding. Therefore we cannot even imagine their existence, to say nothing about thinking about them, to say nothing about reacting with them. They literally don't exist to us, even though they exist in God's sight.

God is so EXTREMELY GREAT that we can't even start to imagine what He is like, or what His 'Heaven of Heavens' might be like. All we can do is go on the little we can see, and what He tells us about Himself in the Bible.

I think this question assumes that God needed a physical place to exist before creating the world but that is already a human way of thinking. Most Christian theology describes God as the creator of both space and time, so asking where he was before creation may be like what was north of the North Pole. The question doesn’t fit. We naturally imagine living somewhere because we are all bound by space and time.

At the same time I try to understand why people ask this kind of question. It’s one of those questions that pushes us to think about the limit of human understanding. Whether someone is religious or not, it reminds us that our intuition is built around physical world and that may and that may not apply to the idea of an eternal being.

I honestly don’t think there is and will be a definitive answer that every one will agree on.

God was the word and the world. He was not confined to a particular place.
God lives beyond space and time. Beyond what any human can scientifically prove.

That's actually a deep question. And it reminds me of that movie where a man sues God because he's frustrated with all the suffering in the world. The whole point of the movie is questioning God's role and existence when things go wrong. Objectively speaking, no one can really answer where God was before creation because the concept of time and space didn't exist yet. God is seen as eternal, outside of time and space. So the question itself might not even make sense from that perspective.

Topics like this are certainly many versions depending on the beliefs and religions held by each user who comments, there will be many differences of opinion, such as you say that you are a Christian, where in our holy text you it can be described or if you do not understand ask the priest or someone who is worthy of being asked about faith in your religious beliefs.

In my religion, God is on the throne, he is on it, even before the creation of heaven and hell, he was already there, this cannot be proved by anything, his word that explains that there is there, we can only believe.

It's better to ask your religion teacher, it will get much better results than asking like this.

I believe he was everything. He just existed and there was nothing else besides him. So he took elements of him to give birth to everything else which took place in existence. And it was done through what we understand as scientifical laws, meaning nothing was created magically or instantly, but through long lasting processes of cause and effect.

What you see in Genesis as the creation of the world and man didn't happen in 7 days, but along many many years.

The way I'm telling is just an archaic scratch of how it really was, since in the current level of understanding we are it's not possible to fully comprehend this subject in details.

That's a brilliant description, as a CREATOR He is, no one can really tell everything about Him except He made Himself know to you, and true He is everywhere and can choose to be whatever thing He wants to be, He is the beginning and the end, the first and the last and by His spirit we can be able to breathe and do other things, beside when He was creating the heaven and the earth no one was there and it was not recorded of where He is when creating but we are sure everything is made possible through Him.

The problem with religion is you are not to ask questions or reason beyond what is written in those holy books. Once you try to ask questions, you don't get direct answers, and it starts to look like an offence to the believers. You are told to believe things blindly because it's the world of God.

You have shared your believe and according to my perspective and my religious point of view I believe that GOD was not living in place before the creation of heaven and Earth but I believe is that spaces places and time all these things are the creation of him he has created all these things , in my religion that teaches us that God is eternal and he has always been existed he do not need a home location to access and live and there is nothing beside him or before him, even before creation of all of these things he was still there and he is and nothing is like him and undo him so we cannot compare God to human beings that need place to live because we are his creation, as human being our mind is confined and we think in terms of houses building locations because that is our experience but the creator is bigger than all of these things and he is not limited by them he has always existed independently.

Before this existence of this world god have been in existence which is why I see him as mysterious god that does things the way it pleases him and never seeks permission before doing what so ever pleases him to do.
Because god is a mysterious god, he alone understands what and how things happened before now, therefore there are some questions that may look very important but appears useless because it takes only him that is a mysterious god that knows how things came to existence.

I remember this pastor who's answering questions like this. The answer he's said to that debate IIRC was that with questions like this is they're limiting God through space, time and I forgot the other definition he's said. Therefore it means that the God he's worshipping isn't limited by time and space and so He's self sufficient and He's been there all the time sitting on His throne. In my understanding, if it's not heaven then it's beyond the heavens.

If you read the book of Genesis will and understand what the Bible is saying there, it does not says that there wasn't the Spirit of God, it shows that we don't only have heaven and earth being separated, when the Spirit of God was upon the deep, both heaven and earth god separated and this shows that there is a distinctive difference between where heaven is and where it is located, while the Spirit of God has always being before any creation, because he's spirit.

Thinking outside theological and philosophical ideology, but driving our understanding from the records from the beginning suing Bible Gen 1:1 God creates the world and heaven, but we are not told that God needed to live in both and that point to God own personality and the created thing's, humans believe that God leave in heaven, but logically its not proven but with science and or wonder's, we cant very that God leave in heaven we just assump that God is a living being but we can't point to him, his location and nature outside what we have been told from the Bible and the whole the philosophy around God own nature and existence.

The Holy spirit was there to document everything and it was still the Holy spirit that revealed it to man what was written in the word of God. This was why God sent the Holy Spirit on Pentecost day to be man comforter and teacher of the word of cup.

Of course, in church it's not everything that the pastor knows that it isn't written in the Bible even some of the ones written in the Bible is still a mystery till date and beyond human understanding.

You do realise that even to this date people come up with all sorts of "revelations" and "prophecies" and make claims that God spoke to them through dreams. We all do have dreams. we all do hallucinate at one point. I can't rule out all that
